Audrey is a 20 year old woman and the main character of Soldiers and Medics. She is a bit small for her age, about 4'11, and very thin from the lack of constant food. She has short brown hair, almond-shaped grey eyes, a small nose, and round shoulders. Audrey is a smart woman who's compassionate about people around her (even if they're strangers), naïve, talkative, and kind. She is a loyal and quiet friend.
Audrey is an orphan, raised by a woman named Hillary. When she was a newborn, her parents abandoned her by putting her in a large cardboard box in an alleyway, wrapped around a pale pink blanket. Eventually, Hillary found her, she tried to find her parents, but no one would take her. So , Hillary made the decision to raise Audrey herself (she secretly wanted a child could never conceive). Years passed as Hillary taught Audrey how to be a good person and how to take care of herself. They were both poor, never had permeant residence nor a stable income; they hopped from one home to the next. Sometimes, they would be homeless, hence why Audrey is rather thin. In spite of the near constant hardships, both Hillary and Audrey never gave up on each other.
By the time Audrey turned 20, Hillary became sick, but never got better. She would be fine some days, if they could afford her medicine, but more often than not she was bed-ridden. During that time, their apartment was blown up and the homeless shelters of Dawnbury were full because war reached their front door.
How Hillary died will be in her entry, but Audrey was devastated after finding out Hillary passed away while she was gone. She was out looking for food and supplies in half-blown up buildings, it took longer than expected to find enough supplies for the both of them. Audrey promised herself to be there if Hillary was dying, to say her goodbyes and to hold her hand, to keep her company, as she left this realm.
So, it was just her for nearly half a year; mourning the death of a loved one while trying to survive in a world that's trying to kill her. Sure, she could join a group of survivors, but no one would have her with the same excuse "we can't take on young people, we can't have any mistakes." She understood since she herself was trying to figure things out and couldn't get the things she knew completely right. By the time the story starts, Dawnbury is nearly a shadow of its former glory. What's left of it is territory to the enemy. Audrey wanders the ruins, scavenging her supplies and trying to find survivors. Eventually, she finds a survivor, a pilot named Air Force Lieutenant Alexei Wilson.
