¨So…you and Reo broke up?¨
Isagi tilted his head in disbelief. The happy couple who was always so affectionate to the point it was an eyesore broke up? Yeah, no, Isagi now believes that true love doesn't exist. ( except for him and Bachira) Nagi shook his head.
¨We didn't break up…¨
Isagi just gave Nagi a side-eye as if he didn't believe the white-haired male. Why else would Nagi join him and Bachira for lunch without Reo? Normally, their lunch was like a triple date with Chigiri and Kunigami joining them but not today. Today it was Nagi, basically third-wheeling Isagi and Bachira. Isagi had not seen Reo close to Nagi at all today.
In fact, Isagi had seen Reo basically be with Kunigami and Chigiri all day. Isagi knew they were good friends but the fact they already chose a side shows their closeness. Now Isagi is wondering why this all happened. What could push Reo to the point of avoiding Nagi?
¨So then…What happened?¨
¨You, you happened.¨
Isagi let out a shocked noise as Bachira perked up. Opening his eyes and staring at Nagi with intensity as to further elaborate.
¨Explain?!¨
Nagi gave an exasperated look as if that would be annoying to do but finally just sighed.
¨You kept calling me at random hours of the day and night just to play games. Normally, I wouldn't mind but it seems to tick off Reo because you would always call when we´re together. Then when I would decline your invite Reo would be moody for the rest of the time we´re together ruining the atmosphere.¨
Nagi took in a deep breath as if he had run a mile. Isagi wondered what the problem was. Surely, Reo, who is deeply in love with Nagi, wouldn't avoid him because Isagi calling him, right? Then it dawned on Isagi.
¨Nagi…did you tell Reo it was me?¨
Nagi looked at him, puzzled.
¨Why would I? You calling me isn´t important enough to mention to Reo.¨
Isagi doesn´t know whether he should be offended or not. Bachira started giggling as he pointed at Nagi.
¨Nagicchi! I wonder how your brain works,¨ Bachira tried to contain his giggles as he continued,¨You do realize that you getting calls at random times of the day, especially when with Reo without mentioning who it is, looks as if you have a side piece and don´t care if Reo sees you blatantly cheating!¨
Nagi's mouth tilted downward, eyebrows furrowing. Isagi quickly nodded at Bachira´s statement, following up with a question of his own.
¨Did he ever ask who called?¨
Nagi nodded a bit and then his eyes slightly widened.
¨He did…but I always said it wasn't important…¨
Isagi felt his face irked at that remark but just let it go. Well…not totally. He had to make a snide remark.
¨No wonder Reo´s avoiding you, even I wouldn't be able to deal with your stupidity.¨
Bachira just started giggling even more, shaking a bit. Nagi rolled his eyes but soon focused his eyes on one spot in the room. Nagi had spotted a familiar lavender-hair male-wasn´t that hard actually- with the two highlighters with him. Well, actually there seemed to be a new highlighter in the group, a loud one at that. One that was a little too t ouchy with Reo for Nagi´s liking.
As if Reo had felt his gaze he turned his head around, but when their eyes met Reo quickly turned away. Nagi grumbled to himself. They hadn't broken up. Well at least they never said it verbally but Nagi doesn't know if he can continue being away. How he wishes he can be next to Reo right now instead of the yellow highlighter with pink highlights. Then an idea popped up, asking for advice. Even if it's a pain to talk, it's even more of a pain that Reo is avoiding him- well at least to Nagi.
¨How do I…get him to at least talk to me so I can explain?¨
Isagi put down his drink and looked toward Nagi. He seemed to be thinking about it, closing his eyes- putting his hand below his chin. Isagi then opened his eyes and began asking questions.
¨Well, what do you know that Reo likes?¨
¨Dried sweet potato slices.¨
Isagi gestured his hand as if telling Nagi to continue. Nagi started to rub the back of his neck as he thought about it. He always pays attention to what Reo likes but being put on the spot made him blank out.
¨He likes those cheesy romance movie grand gestures. He imitates them a lot- He's cute when he does that. ¨ Nagi says fondly recalling a time Reo had bought him a ton of flowers and said when they die so will his love. It worried Nagi at first so he did his best to take care of the heliotropes but they did die- except for one. That is because it was fake. Nagi the next day had given many kisses to Reo saying that the flower thing was cheesy but cute as well. That caused Reo to smile wide, returning Nagi´s kisses. Kissing him all over his face. His tinted lip gloss stained Nagi´s face that day.
¨…agi. Nagi!¨
Nagi soon shook himself out of the fond memories, finally paying attention to Isagi´s reprimanding voice.
¨So then what kind of cheesy romance cliche will you do? More like, what are you good at other than football?¨
Nagi thought about it for a moment. What cliche can he do?
¨Can you play guitar?¨ Bachira asked, suddenly seeming excited. Nagi nodded.
¨What about it?¨
¨You can serenade him! Isagi and I will be the backup musicians!¨
¨One problem with that,¨ Isagi interrupted,¨Can Nagi even sing?¨
The two looked at him. Nagi shrugged.
¨I can, Reo says I sing great- well, when I actually tried.¨
The two looked at each other then looked at Nagi again- eyebrows raised.
¨Yeah, well Reo´s whipped he´s not a great judge- especially not in this situation.¨
Nagi gave a small glare at Isagi when he commented that. Isagi just raised up his hand in defense. Bachira just sits there humming enjoying whatever is happening.
¨Okay, well we´ll believe you so yeah? Are we doing it!?¨
Nagi just sighed and nodded- to Bachira´s delight. Isagi then tapped on Nagi leaning in close to whisper in his ear.
¨Make sure to get Reo´s favorite snack, flowers, and a plushie, okay? You made it seem like you were cheating, you have to put in the effort to give Reo a hint that it was a miscommunication. Otherwise, you can probably just fuck off- not my words it was Chigiri´s I swear.¨
Nagi nodded, thanking the two, and left to throw away his trash.
¨Did Chigiri actually say that? You suck at whispering by the way.¨
¨Nah I just wanted to say that.¨
Bachira giggled.
¨So petty, I love it.¨
Isagi received a small kiss on the cheek from Bachira causing him to smile.

¨You think Nagi cheated- that man?!¨
Chigiri exclaimed. Obviously, it was a dumb statement but Chigiri will always hear Reo out. He heard Reo out when he said he loved Nagi and now he has to hear Reo out that Nagi of all people cheated on him.
¨Yeah, well, why else would he get random phone calls when we´re together, and then when I ask he says it is not important!? He always takes the call out of the room too!¨
Okay, well, Chigiri was right to hear him out cause what the actual fuck was he hearing. Kunigami's face palmed into his hand as he shook his head. Shidou just yawned but was visibly irked.
¨I can punch him, purple-bun. Cheating is a new low for sleepy eyes.¨ Shidou leaned in close, obviously very serious with his offer just waiting for any sign of confirmation from Reo.
Chigiri nodded.
¨I can kick him, trust my legs, Reo.¨
¨Guys let's give him the benefit of the doubt…Though I don´t think there is much to use to defend Nagi other than that´s not in his character.¨
Reo just slouched- even his friends couldn't disagree with his thought process. The only defense they could give was that it wasn´t in his character. It's not as if he was looking for reasons to defend Nagi, but he wanted to hear others' perspectives. Reo wanted to make sure he wasn't well… overreacting.
Reo felt someone staring at him so he turned around and saw Nagi looking at him from afar. Reo shuddered- eyes widened- and quickly turned away looking at his friends again. They continued to talk as Reo started zoning out. Falling into the rabbit hole of his thoughts. Only hearing a bit that his friends said they’ll hang out at his house today. To try and cheer him up-they claimed.

Nagi was glad he was able to get all the stuff he needed from a store. He had grabbed the dried sweet potato slices, different types of candies, a bouquet of white orchids, and a Kuromi plush. He made it into a little basket with intricate bows and everything a little box hidden in there. He wants Reo to see his sincerity and the florist recommended making a basket and buying white orchids because they symbolize sincerity. Now Nagi was waiting outside of Reo’s house for Isagi and Bachira since they were the ones with the musical equipment.
Nagi soon saw Isagi’’s car pull up and the two pull out the musical equipment. Isagi soon walked up towards him, handing him a microphone.
“Have you chosen a song?”
Nagi nodded and showed Isagi the lyrics. Isagi raised his eyebrow.
“You’re singing a Spanish song, can you even speak Spanish?”
Nagi frowned, shaking his head.
“I’ll be singing it in English.”
“Good enough I guess…”
“Hey! You two! Do you know the password? We can’t get past the gate without it.”
Nagi picked up the basket and walked towards the gate- quickly in putting the code. The three walked in. The staff is not really questioning it since they know Nagi- which is very risky. They walk to the side of the building and Nagi sighed in relief as he saw Reo’s window was open. They soon set up the speaker, connecting the microphone to the system. Isagi and Bachira holding their musical instruments waiting for Nagi to be ready.
Nagi felt himself shaking. What if it doesn’t work? What if Reo leaves Nagi for good? There are many things that can go wrong but Nagi pushed that aside and stared at the mic. Taking in a deep breath Nagi looked up towards the window.
“Reo, can you hear me?”
Reo flinched in his room. Chigiri and Kunigami raised their eyebrows while Shidou quickly got up and started walking towards the window. Reo managed to get their first and looked down. Lo and behold, Nagi in the flesh was down there holding a microphone with Isagi and Bachira holding musical instruments. Reo out of the corner of his eye saw a basket hiding behind Nagi- not really able to see what was in it but Reo knew his face was flushed at the gesture. It reminded him of those cheesy romance movies. Reo felt his mouth tilt upwards as he stared at Nagi from above.
“Hi, Reo…”
Reo laughed a little and gave a small wave- leaning against the window frame. Then he felt Chigiri pulling on him, giving him a look saying “Don’t forgive him too easily.” Reo nodded and tried to control his face as he looked toward Nagi again.
“Um…I’m here to serenade you so…Will you listen to me sing?”
Reo gave him a thumbs up which encouraged Nagi to continue. Nagi looked to the back of him and the two gave him a thumbs up as Nagi began.
“ Why did I fall in love with you?”

Reo let out a surprised noise and he heard the others behind him chuckle. He quickly shot them a glare before returning to Nagi-frowning. This made Nagi nervous as he continued.
“ What a simple question to answer.”

Reo just hummed wondering where this would go.
“My eyes will answer for me.”

Reo felt his eyes soften. Nagi wasn’t one to express his love with facial expressions instead, you could tell how he feels with his eyes, The way they soften or gleamed when Nagi looks at Reo.
“You're right,”

“My heart now has an owner.”
(Mi corazón ahora ya tiene dueña)
“You are not my option, you are my priority.”

Reo put his hand to his mouth as his eyes widened. Had Nagi just really said that? He wasn't the only one because he heard the sound of someone falling to the ground. He turned around and saw Chigiri on Kunigami’s chest as he mumbled something that he never expected Nagi to propose so early on. They were in college and have been together for two years so maybe it was early but oh how Nagi’s gesture made Reo’s heart beat fast.
“Let me be.”

Reo closed his eyes, a smile seen on his face. Truly, it felt like Nagi was proposing and Reo probably wouldn’t have minded that. The thing is he still needs to answer those phone calls. Even if Reo feels himself swooning he can not let go of the suspicious phone calls Nagi had received. For now, though, he’ll enjoy Nagi’s gesture.
“Let me be.”

"Love of your life, huh.” Reo stares silently at Nagi. He knows he’s blushing but he won’t allow himself to fully enjoy this. Not until Nagi clears up whatever the hell caused this problem in the first place. Reo just sighed and moved away from the window. He was still near the window but off to the side just glancing out of it as Nagi continued- seemingly not discouraged by Reo’s actions.
“Let me be.”

Reo closed his eyes then opened them and looked to his ceiling. It was a repeat and it seemed the song was almost over. Reo wonders if he should show away Nagi or let him in and explain. Reo is leaning towards the latter option but then again. He had his friends over and one was being very dramatic. It seemed as though Kunigami was keeping them quiet so Reo could fully focus on Nagi.

Nagi panted as he finished. Reo clapped a bit and gave him a tiny smile. He saw Reo move towards the window and gesture for him to go to the front door. Nagi smiled. Reo will finally speak to him again. That’s when Nagi remembered the other two with him. Nagi gestured to the two behind him and Reo rolled his eyes and nodded. As if it was obvious they would be coming as well.
Nagi was let in by the staff and quickly went up toward Reo’s room. He saw Kunigami existing by dragging Chigiri and Shidou mouthing ‘good luck’. Nagi nodded. Nagi turned around and told Isagi and Bachira to follow Kunigami because Nagi wanted to be alone with Reo. Nagi knocked on the door and heard Reo say “come in”. Nagi slowly opened the door and placed the basket on Reo’s desk. Reo eyes the basket and smiles.
“You really went all out.”
Nagi squirmed, wondering what he should do as to not fuck up. Nagi nodded and went closer to Reo.
“I wanted to show that I was sincere.”
Reo hummed, “Yeah, this really showed that, but I want to know something, Nagi.” Nagi grabbed his hands and rubbed circles on them, nodding. Reo wanted to pull his hand back but just sighed.
“What was with the phone calls?”
“Ah…So it was about that.”
“Of course, what else should I have been worried about?”
“Nothing, I was just confused as to why but I see why now.”
“Then go ahead, genius, explain.”
“Erm, it was Isagi. The phone calls were Isagi asking to play games at random times. I only said it wasn’t important because well it was Isagi. I was hanging out with you so, of course, Isagi wanting to play games would pale in comparison.”
“That’s a first…” Reo mumbled so low that Nagi couldn't hear.
“So you’re saying I was upset over nothing?”
Nagi shook his head.
“It wasn’t nothing. I was partially at fault for not communicating well and making you upset.”
Reo’s eyes softened as he pulled him into a hug, nuzzling his face into Nagi’s neck. He planted a few kisses on Nagi’s face and neck. Flashing Nagi a big smile.
“I adore you, Sei, but I was also at fault for jumping to conclusions.”
“I love you too, Reo. Please don’t avoid me anymore.”
“I’m sorry about that Nagi. I won’t do that anymore.”
“Thank you.”
The two shared a slow kiss. Nagi is just enjoying the feel of Reo’s lips against his own. Even if it was just for the day he had missed the feeling , the taste of Reo’s lips. He nibbled on Reo’s bottom lip, asking for permission. Reo gladly gave him access. Nagi inserted his tongue exploring Reo’s mouth. Nagi pulled him even closer and placed his hand on the back of Reo’s neck, deepening the kiss. They soon pull apart for air. They stared into each other’s eyes before Nagi remembered about the box. Nagi pulled away and went to the basket pulling out a box.
He opened it and grabbed Reo’s right hand.
“It’s not an engagement ring, not yet. So for now it’ll be on the right. It’s a promise ring. It’s a promise of my devotion to you. Do you promise me the same, Reo?”
Nagi looked towards Reo’s eyes. Reo swore he would have melted right there and then. He nodded, grabbing the ring and sliding it onto Nagi’s right-hand ring finger.
“Of course, Sei. I promise to never leave your side.”
The two share a kiss once again, smiling into it. Nagi decided that even if that gesture was cheesy and cliche it was well worth it.

Bonus:
“Ew, they're so lovey-dovey they make me gag,” Shidou commented as the group of friends looked through the door paying attention to the couple.
“I know right? Kunigami, when will you serenade me? I want that movie cliche as well.”
“W-What??”
“Isagi, I’ll serenade you any day!”
Isagi giggled and pulled Bachira close.
“Me too.”
Shidou just stared at the couples, gagging.
“When will I meet someone who’ll make me explode?”
