the dogtain and the catquan

Summary:

“So… you drank it…?”
Ningguang looks at Beidou as if she was the stupidest, most idiotic, least capable person in the entirety of Teyvat — and in all honesty, it wouldn’t be an unfair assumption.
Beidou merely smiles back, scratching the top of her head where a pair of furry ears sit; just behind her, a fluffy tail the colour of her hair has grown from her tailbone, the length of it wagging back and forth behind her back.
“Mm, yeah,” Beidou shrugs, “You got a way to help?”

---

Captain Beidou brings home a mysterious, magical potion and... drinks it. Unfortunately for Ningguang, Beidou likes making her own problems the former's issues too.

Work Text:

There’s the chatter of the crew filling the air around them as the Alcor docks at the harbour; people are going back and forth, heavy crates in hand, as they all scutter around to prepare themselves for the big event. Travelling between nations, exchanging goods and trades — the fleet had been out at sea for many months on end now and so their return had been a highly anticipated day for the people back in Liyue.

The ship rocks just slightly as it comes into contact with the dock, shifting back and forth before the crew finally manages to tie her down — Beidou’s with them all the way, helping the new recruits get ahold of how things are done. The plank clatters against wooden docks as they let it down, cheers erupting all around them; the crew make their way off of the ship and are soon embraced by their loved ones in tight hugs.

Beidou sighs contentedly, hands on her hips as she watches the way her crew’s faces light up upon seeing their beloveds — now only hers remained. Beidou shakes her head as she turns around, making her way to the hatch in the deck that leads to where they kept their cargo. She climbs down and produces a small lamp from her belt. It was a little hand-held one that she had acquired from Fontaine, one of their newer inventions that they had claimed would be life-changing; of course, Beidou didn’t believe that part but it was powered by electro and she thought it might make itself quite useful in future voyages.

Beidou infuses her hand with electro, watching as the spark within the contraption comes to life, and makes her way over to the side. She kneels down and a smirk grows on her lips as she dusts clean a treasure chest — the golden rim sparkles against the light of her lamp and Beidou could just tell the contents inside would be priceless.

Her fingers trace the edge, thumbs running down until they sit on the front corners of the lid and she pushes it open. It cracks open with a creak and Beidou’s eye widens with the treasures inside: the finest quality jade, ancient artifacts, and what must have been millions of mora, all piled together in this one chest. She chuckles, letting the lid go as her hands skim over all the gold and prizes — what was this? Or whose was this? Oh, but who cared? Her crew could live a life of luxury off of this or more importantly, she could finally pay off those fines her lovely wife kept sending her.

However, what interests her the most seems to be a small vial nestled in with all the mora. She picks it up, fitting in just her palm, and brings the lamp up to shine at it — it glimmers in the light, sparkles and glitter reflecting back the rays as she turns it around slowly. The liquid inside of it is purple, similar to the colour of her vision, and it was absolutely mesmerising

Was it a… potion? If it was, what did it do? What could it do?

“Hey, Captain?” comes a voice from the ladder. Beidou turns around, vial still in hand as she cocks her head up at Furong.

“Yeah, what’s up?”

“The Tianquan’s sent a message for you.” The pirate almost sounds a little bitter saying it but Beidou pays it no mind.

Beidou shakes her head, “Well, tell her she’s gotta wait — I’m busy.”

“What are you doing?” Furong asks, now accompanied by Sea Drake behind her.

“Yeah, Captain, you’ve been down here for a while now.”

Beidou holds up the vial with a tilted head, “What do you reckon this is?”

Sea Drake looks at it quizzically before squinting his eyes to get a better look, “Looks like some potion to me, Captain.”

Furong laughs and elbows Sea Drake lightly in the arm, “Why don’t you drink it and find out?”

Sea Drake rolls his eyes and rubs the spot where Furong had elbowed him, “Not your smartest idea, sailor.”

Furong huffs and crosses her arms, “Was only joking there.”

Beidou scratches the back of her head and looks down at the vial, “Might be worth a shot.”

“Hold on,” Sea Drake scoffs, “Don’t tell me you’re actually going to drink that.”

Beidou shrugs and holds it up to her face, “What’s the worst that could happen?”

Furong’s eyebrows raise as she looks at her captain, dumbfounded, “You could die ,” she states as if it was the most obvious thing in Teyvat.

Beidou shrugs again and pops the cork off the top of the container, eyeing the inside of it; it swirls around, almost tempting her into it. “Worth it.”

In one swig, Beidou chugs down the contents of the vial.

Ningguang sets her quill back into the pot of ink, lacing her fingers together as she tilts her head and narrows her eyes at the captain, “Do I have a way to help with turning you back from being a dog ?”

Beidou nods, “Yeah, that– that was the question there.”

Ningguang groans, hiding her face in her hands as Beidou blinks at her dumbly, “Archons, you’re impossible.”

“I’m not impossible, I’m–”

Ningguang waits a few seconds for Beidou to finish her sentence but the final words never come and so Ningguang looks up from her documents to find an empty space in front of her. In confusion, she turns her head around the room in search of the missing pirate only to find her sitting on the floor, pawing away at her expensive, silk curtains. Ningguang stands up quickly, shooing Beidou away with the stomp of her foot and the wave of her hand; the pirate whimpers, ducking her head down as her tail curls around her. Ningguang looks at her in part shock, part guilt as Beidou seems to catch up on what she just did.

“Awe– Beidou–”

“Shut up–!” Beidou snaps, face growing a shade of red, “Don’t say a word!”

Ningguang pushes her chair back into place before making her way over to where Beidou was sitting on the floor and she kneels down in front of her; she cradles her face in both hands and presses a soft kiss to her lips.

“I’m sorry, darling,” Ningguang laughs, “Did that scare you?”

“Oh stop it,” Beidou huffs, turning her head away and placing a hand over Ningguang’s face, “Why are you being sweet–”

When Beidou looks back, she can see a tint of mischief in Ningguang’s eyes — she doesn’t quite know what the woman wants and she isn’t so keen to find out.

“Why can’t I be sweet to my lovely little puppy?” Ningguang coos, a hand coming up to Beidou’s ear and scratching just behind it. Beidou groans in satisfaction, head tipping into Ningguang’s hand as her shoulders slump and all the muscles in her body relax —  oh fuck , that was nice

A smirk grows on the corner of Ningguang’s lips as she looks down between Beidou’s legs and watches the tail wag, bouncing back and forth between Beidou’s thighs.

“Look at that,” she murmurs, still petting away at Beidou’s ears, “How adorable.”

Ningguang seems to be satisfied with her research as she stands up and straightens out her clothes, “I’ve always been more of a cat person but I suppose this’ll do.”

Beidou blinks, suddenly brought out of her daze as she looks up at Ningguang with furrowed brows and her cheeks grow red in embarrassment, “You’re cruel, what was that even for?”

“Wanted to see if your tail wagged, that’s all, and I’ve got my evidence to suggest that it does.”

“Shut up,” Beidou huffs, “I’m not letting you take advantage of this.” The pirate gets up and crosses her arms, seemingly displeased with Ningguang but that doesn’t last long as the woman places her hands on her shoulders and leans up to press a sweet kiss to her lips. Beidou’s tail wags.

That infuriating smirk reappears on Ningguang’s lips as she takes in the sight of a flustered captain and pride surges in her chest as she’s reminded that she’s the only one that got to see her like this.

“Are you not?”

Beidou growls, snatching her tail and pinning it to her stomach — Ningguang raises an eyebrow and looks at Beidou with amusement.

“Easy, pup, I’m just teasing you.”

Beidou frowns but her attempt at annoyance is ruined by how her tail is still moving back and forth even through her means of stopping it; Ningguang can’t help but laugh, pressing another kiss to Beidou’s lips before petting her ears.

“I’ll get you back for this someday,” Beidou murmurs, trying to resist the way she’s melting into Ningguang’s hand; it’s just too tempting, to let Ningguang continue petting away at her and just relax into her hold. “One day…” Beidou sighs, her hands weakly pawing at Ningguang’s arm, “I’m going to… ah– wait, right there–”

Ningguang laughs softly and lets her hands travel down Beidou’s head until they cradle her face, “I think we’ll both come to enjoy this, won’t we, my dear?”

“I don’t like you.”

“I love you too, Beidou.”

Ningguang hums, a hand carding through the locks of Beidou’s hair as the other scratches gently at the base of the pirate’s ear; she leans down occasionally to press a kiss against the head resting in her lap.

“What did your crew say about your new… additions ?”

Beidou can make out the tone of amusement in Ningguang’s voice but ignores it as she tilts her head into the woman’s hand and sighs, “They said that maybe they’d be able to figure out what mood I am in more quickly now.”

“Mm, that’s true,” Ningguang muses, fingers cradling Beidou’s cheek as she leans down to give the captain a peck on the lips, “And it’s very helpful.”

Beidou frowns and huffs, “I’d like to think I express my moods very clearly, unlike a certain someone.” With the sentence, Beidou’s eyes flick up to meet Ningguang’s but all she gets in return is a smirk.

“You’re lucky that this certain someone isn’t allergic to all this new fur you’re shedding all over my home.” At the mention of it, Beidou’s eyes lower down to the bed which was now covered in brown fur — she scowls and huffs, brow drawing down into a frown as she looks back up at Ningguang.

“Brush me then, if you’re so bothered about it.”

Ningguang’s eyebrows quirk up and she seems to take it as a good idea; with the snap of her fingers, a geo construct appears in her hand. It’s a hairbrush but it was shaped a little differently from the ones she regularly used — she squints at it and realises that Ningguang had summoned a dog brush that she had seen the children down by the harbour use so often.

Her frown deepens and her tail comes up to curl around her stomach protectively.

“Who said you could touch it?” she growls, baring her teeth as Ningguang leans down to grab her tail — she swats the offending limb away with her hand in a pawing motion but it seems to incite nothing but delight in Ningguang.

“You said I could brush it, didn’t you?”

“I didn’t say that–”

Ningguang leans down, grabbing the end of Beidou’s tail and tugging it towards her; Beidou yelps and growls, snapping forward and closing her mouth around Ningguang’s arm in one quick motion. Ningguang hisses from the sting of the bite, swiftly retracting her hand as she looks down at Beidou with a scowl.

Bad girl, you can’t just bite me.”

Beidou’s ears flatten against the top of her head and a pout forms on her lips — her tail thuds heavily against the sheets once before curling up between her legs as if to hide it.

Ningguang curses under her breath, wiping the saliva off of her arm before looking back down at the pirate in her lap, “Do you have anything to say for yourself?”

Beidou huffs and averts her gaze, shame apparent on her face by how her cheeks grow a slight tinge of red. “I’m sorry,” she mutters, lifting her arm up and covering her eyes with her forearm.

Ningguang huffs and shakes her head, slight guilt gnawing away at her as Beidou curls in on herself. She sighs and shuffles forward, leaning in to press a kiss to the top of the pirate’s head — her ears stand up once more and suddenly Ningguang doesn’t feel so bad.

“Now, be a good girl and turn around for me, Captain.”

There’s a change of tone; Ningguang’s voice drips with honey and mischief as a hand comes to cradle Beidou’s face — the pirate’s eyes widen and her face darkens in colour as Ningguang leans down to press a kiss to her cheek. Beidou can’t help but obey, slowly sitting up with a huff and bringing her knees up to her chest.

Ningguang giggles, bringing her hand up to cover her mouth as she watches the way Beidou’s tail wags back and forth in amusement. Beidou turns round, face red and a frown on her face as she pouts at Ningguang.

“What are you laughing for?”

“Oh nothing, darling,” Ningguang muses, reaching over and taking ahold of Beidou’s tail, “You’re just so adorable.”

Beidou huffs and turns back around, burying her face into her knees, “I don’t like this.”

Ningguang places the brush at the base of her tail and draws it down until the ends of the fur; she repeats the motion over and over, satisfaction settling in her chest as she watches Beidou slowly melt with her touch.

“You know, ever since I was a child, I’ve always dreamt of brushing out a dog’s tail — they always seemed so soft, so nice .” Ningguang hums, sighing contentedly as she continues brushing through the fur, “And I must say, it is quite as satisfactory as I imagined it being.”

“I’m still a…” Beidou murmurs, her head tipping forward as Ningguang scratches the base of her tail; her head grows a little drowsy and she swears she’s about to fall asleep any moment now. “I’m still a person, you know…”

Ningguang laughs quietly, her lips curving up into a smile as Beidou slumps forward and rests her head on her knee. “Oh I know, I just find this whole situation quite amusing.”

Beidou musters up her remaining energy to frown, not that Ningguang could even see, and sighs, “You’ve been so… annoying about it…”

“My apologies, Captain,” Ningguang leans forward and presses a gentle kiss to the nape of Beidou’s neck, “You’ve just been so easy to tease.”

Beidou huffs, quiet and reserved as she slowly drifts off, the feeling of Ningguang’s fingers through her tail pulling her deeper and deeper into sleep.

Ningguang feels something akin to irritation settle in her chest as her eyes land on the reflection in the mirror. She looked like her usual self by all means: long pristine hair, ridiculously expensive, yet elegant, morning robe and perfectly manicured nails, but there was something… off about her appearance.

Ningguang sighs, chest rising with annoyance as she lifts her hand and slowly touches the pair of ears that sits atop her head — they’re white and soft, similar to her hair, and they seem to twitch on their own accord as Ningguang places a gentle finger on the tips.

Yet miraculously, this was not the worst part of it.

She summons her pipe and with a long inhale of smoke, her eyes flit down to her lower body where a tail seems to have sprouted from behind her. It swishes in the air, seemingly pleased with Ningguang’s choice of tobacco, and waves back and forth in satisfaction.

Typically, when one is faced with a situation where they have grown feline features overnight, one would often take quite a while to figure out the reasoning behind it. Fortunately — or perhaps unfortunately — Ningguang’s explanation seems to be just in her reach.

“Beidou.”

A low grumble emits from the silken sheets of her bed, followed with some shuffling and groaning before a head of brown hair emerges from within. Beidou yawns, stretching her arms far above her head and rubbing at her eye to wash away her drowsiness — her ears twitch as she does so and Ningguang can only imagine the sway of the pirate’s tail as her gaze finally lands on Ningguang.

“Mm– ‘morning, beautiful. How did you– wait.”

Ningguang turns around, a brow quirked up as a moment of curious silence falls upon the two. If Ningguang paid really close attention, she could almost hear the gears in Beidou’s head working around as she tried to decipher the sight in front of her.

“You’ve got… cat ears.”

Ningguang closes her eyes briefly, inhaling deeply as she dismisses her pipe and folds her hands neatly in front of her; she tries her best to remain composed and understanding of Beidou’s shock but she can’t help but bite back a little.

“That eye of yours still works, huh?”

Beidou frowns and huffs, ears flattening against the top of her head, “Hey, I was just pointing something out.”

Ningguang rolls her eyes and smooths down her robe, brushing away the stray threads of dog fur that had stuck to her over the night. “Something that I had already noticed, thank you, Captain.”

“Someone’s in a mood today,” Beidou mutters, slowly shuffling to the edge of the bed as she pulls the duvets off of her. She’s about to get off the bed before she stills in her tracks and looks at Ningguang in amusement.

Ningguang follows her gaze and frowns, uncertain with Beidou’s new point of interest.

 “What are you looking at?”

A smile grows on the edge of Beidou’s lips as she nods towards Ningguang, “Your tail, it flicked — cute.”

Ningguang's face falls but she’s quick to regain herself as she narrows her eyes at Beidou, “You will behave or you’ll sleep on the Alcor tonight, do you understand?”

When Ningguang returns, she doesn’t expect the sight of the great Captain Beidou sitting behind her desk but she can’t say that her appearance was unwelcome. She raises a brow but soon rolls her eyes when she sees that the pirate has propped her feet up on her expensive sandbearer desk; little specks of dust and mud fall onto the pristine surface and Ningguang gives Beidou an irritated wave of her hand.

Beidou seems to understand the gesture as she slides her boots off the desk with a huff, leaning forward to brush off the little bits of dirt she had left; when she’s done, she leans back and crosses her arms behind her head, making herself comfortable once more in Ningguang’s space.

“I see you’ve welcomed yourself in here — and made a mess of my office in the process,” Ningguang huffs, walking up and placing down the stack of documents she had entered with. Beidou gives her a dismissive wave of her hand as she flashes a loopy smile.

“Come on, it’s just a few specks of dirt, nothing to be afraid of.”

“Dirt sticks to things, Captain, I thought you’d know that by now considering how you like to roll around in it.”

Beidou pouts mockingly, “My sincerest apologies, Tianquan. However–” she sits up straighter in her seat and produces something from her belt, “I didn’t come here to bicker about my muddy boots.”

Ningguang crosses her arms and raises a perfectly arched eyebrow at the pirate, “Why are you here then?”

Beidou cocks her head and grins, “To see my lovely wife, of course.”

Ningguang scoffs and shakes her head — how predictable (yet charmingly sweet, not that Beidou had to know that). She nods towards the item in Beidou’s hand, “What’s that?”

Beidou’s ears perk up and her tail waves excitedly behind her, “Oh yeah! Got this from Fontaine, check it out–”

Beidou presses the switch at the bottom of the device and a beam of light lands on the desk, a perfect little red dot that moves with each flick of Beidou’s hand. Ningguang doesn’t know what overcomes her as she suddenly slams her hand down on the red dot, ears standing to attention and tail swishing behind her.

Beidou startles, head snapping up with slight concern to look at Ningguang — that’s when she realises what had happened.

“Holy shit,” she moves the light to the other side of the desk and Ningguang nearly jumps across it as she tries to reach for it again. Beidou can’t help the laugh that escapes her, watching with amusement as Ningguang chases around the little red laser. “I didn’t know this would work–”

Ningguang’s eyes are impossibly dilated as she chases after the red little dot; it lands on the floor and Ningguang follows it, running around and leaping at inhuman lengths just for a chance to capture the little red light.

Suddenly, she stops, halting in her tracks as her gaze zeroes in on the laser once more — it teases and taunts her, shaking back and forth as she prepares herself as if she were a predator hunting its prey. She digs her claws into the floor and watches with rapt attention as the little red dot moves around in small little circles.

Her tail sways behind her, her ears standing straight up and her legs poised for a leap; Beidou watches in absolute amusement at the sight of her wife in such a state and she wishes she had her kamera on her right now.

And then it comes.

Ningguang jumps, hands reaching out for the coloured speck in an attempt to capture it. Unfortunately for her, she seemed to have failed to notice her desk standing in her way.

Her head collides against the wood with a thud and Beidou can just hear a loud hiss as Ningguang scutters away and hides behind the window curtains.

Beidou stands up abruptly and hurries over to where Ningguang is cowering — she lifts the curtains back and finds the Tianquan, holding her head as she whimpers quietly to herself. Beidou sighs and shakes her head, tapping Ningguang on the shoulder and shuffling closer. Ningguang hisses and Beidou jumps, her own tail curling around her; Ningguang finally looks up at her and Beidou’s surprised to see some tears falling down her face.

“Oh, my treasure,” Beidou coos, ignoring Ningguang’s protests and picking her up — she carries her with one arm around her upper back and one arm under her knees as she makes her way out of Ningguang’s office and towards her bedchamber. Meanwhile, Ningguang huffs, brushing her cheeks against Beidou’s as she nuzzles against her; her arms wrap around Beidou’s neck and Ningguang pulls her down harshly, nearly tipping the pair over.

Beidou stumbles, catching herself on the railing to the stairs as she lets out a string of curses — Ningguang glares at her in return.

“What a sailor’s mouth you have, Captain. And don’t be so sudden, I’ve gotten quite the headache now as a result of your practical joke .”

Beidou splutters, face red as Ningguang continues playing with her cheeks, “You just nearly tipped us down the stairs!”

Ningguang cocks her head and she appears to ignore Beidou’s distress as she plants a kiss on the pirate’s lips, “What a shame, hurry up now. I’m getting rather tired.”

Beidou huffs, readjusting her grip on Ningguang so that the Tianquan’s legs were wrapped around her waist; they carry on into the bedroom and when Beidou goes to put Ningguang down, she’s promptly pulled down with her.

Beidou goes down with a yelp, landing directly on top of Ningguang before the woman beneath rolls the pair over. She straddles Beidou’s hips, hands splaying out across her chest as she arches her back into her.

Beidou’s face flushes a light colour of pink as she looks up at Ningguang, who has her pinned down against the bed — she brings a hand up to rub against her ears.

“Ningguang–”

The hand that had been up by Ningguang’s head suddenly comes down and covers Beidou’s lips, shutting her up. “So mouthy,” Ningguang hums, looking at her with narrowed eyes, “Why don’t you make yourself useful?”

Beidou frowns, making some muffled sound of protest before both of Ningguang’s hands are kneading at her collarbone. She hisses through her teeth, her own tail thudding against the bedding as Ningguang sets all of her weight on the pirate.

“Hey– that hurts–”

Ningguang ignores her, leaning down and placing a kiss on Beidou’s lips — all of her previous protests die in her throat as she melts into Ningguang’s lips. It doesn’t last long, however, as Ningguang parts and instead starts leaving little pecks on the pirate’s cheek, continuing up to her ear.

Beidou can’t help the laugh she lets out, hands swatting Ningguang’s face away from the ticklish spot and her tail wagging happily underneath her. Ningguang gives her a smirk before diving back down and licking one long stripe up the column of the pirate’s neck — Beidou snorts, turning her head as she tries to get away from Ningguang’s spiked tongue.

“Stop that–” Beidou manages between cut-off laughs and giggles, “You’re tickling me–”

“Now you see how it feels, Captain,” Ningguang hums. She lays down, burying her head into the crook of Beidou’s neck as she lays her entire body weight out on Beidou. The pirate grunts, brow furrowing as Ningguang makes herself comfortable on top of Beidou — she would complain but the way Ningguang’s tail waves back and forth proves to be a little too cute for Beidou.

Beidou reaches up, the tips of her fingers playing with Ningguang’s ear — the latter leans her head into the touch, humming quietly to herself as she lets herself be pet. A little smile curls up on Beidou’s lip, amused with the satisfying waves of Ningguang’s tail.

That’s when she hears it, the deep, soothing rumbling that comes from Ningguang’s chest; was she… purring ?

Beidou can’t help the entertained chortle that leaves her as the realisation dawns on her — the purring stops and Ningguang raises an eyebrow at her.

“What do you find so funny, Captain?”

Beidou smiles, pressing a kiss to Ningguang’s cheek, “You were purring, my star.”

The skin of Ningguang’s face colours a light shade of pink at Beidou’s discovery and her brow pulls down into a frown, “I was not.”

“You were,” Beidou responds, her hand still petting away at Ningguang’s ear. They travel down to the base and scratch lightly — Ningguang’s eyes flutter shut and some sort of strangled whine passes her lips. Beidou chuckles quietly and she enjoys the way Ningguang’s face darkens in colour.

“There you go, just relax,” Beidou hums, thumb brushing against the inside of Ningguang’s ear — the purring resumes much to Ningguang’s protests, “I’ll take good care of you, my treasure.”

Ningguang seems to melt into Beidou’s touch, tilting her head into her hand as her entire body relaxes on top of the pirate; Ningguang was by no means heavy but Beidou still gives a little grunts with the weight of a whole other person on her.

The petting and the purring continues and soon enough, the Tianquan is soundly asleep on top of Beidou; she kisses her sweetly on the temple before letting herself drift off to sleep too.

Beidou – please, stop it–”

Ningguang was trained in self-defence, of course she was; she knew the ways to take down an intruder if she so needed to — being a high-authority figure just required that sort of knowledge.

But did she have the stamina to outrun a dog, nonetheless a human -dog?

No.

And much less if said human-dog was Beidou.

Her legs burn and her chest heaves as she pants, running for her life around the Jade Chamber as Beidou just barely clips the back of her heels. She didn’t know what had gotten into her but there had been a sudden switch in Beidou’s interest; from the maps she was analysing to chasing Ningguang around her own home. And so here they were.

The three twin secretaries had long crumbled under fear, opting to hide in the closet while the feral Beidou continued running after their boss — Ningguang were to have a strong word with them after this all died down.

Ningguang didn’t know how long it had been since the chase began but she’s sure she’d trip over her own exhaustion any second now. Beidou is as persistent as when she first started and Ningguang’s hope of simply tiring her out had been long thrown out the window.

She takes one last look backwards to check on Beidou’s condition but it seems to be the fatal mistake that brings her down as she trips on one of the fallen tables that Beidou had tipped over. Her eyes widen as she goes down and she lands on the floor with a thud; her arms instinctively come to cover her face and soon a crushing pain blooms in her side as Beidou comes down with her.

As she expects to be mauled at the hands of her wife-turned-dog, she comes face to face with something much nicer. Well, much nicer compared to being torn to shreds.

A long stripe of something wet is lathered across Ningguang’s face and she splutters as she realises that Beidou had just licked her. The arms that had previously covered her face (unsuccessfully) push at Beidou’s shoulders as she tries to shove her off. It does not work.

Beidou has Ningguang straddled, panting and heaving as she nuzzles her face into Ningguang’s neck and presses kiss after kiss. Ningguang can’t help the laugh that escapes her, damning her ticklishness as she squirms underneath Beidou’s unrelenting touch.

“Beidou–!” she gasps, fits of giggles mingling with her words, “Stop it– Beidou, please !”

The kisses trail all the way up to her face and soon Beidou is covering every inch of the skin with chaste, soft kisses. Ningguang tries to turn her head away but she yelps as her face is turned back towards Beidou. When Ningguang is finally looking at the pirate again, she lets out a muffled grunt as Beidou leans down and kisses her properly.

Ningguang’s arms kind of fall to her side as Beidou wraps her own arms around Ningguang’s neck and pull her in. When they part, breathless and huffing, Ningguang can’t help but smile at the wagging tail behind Beidou.

Back and forth, back and forth, almost so fast that Ningguang could barely see it. Beidou looks down at her with wide, dilated eyes and Ningguang laughs as she cups the captain’s cheeks and presses one last kiss to her lips.

“I thought you were going to maul me, Beidou,” Ningguang huffs, the curl to her lips betraying the scolding tone to her voice, “What’s gotten into you?”

Beidou blinks and it almost seems as if she’s forgotten how she even got into this situation in the first place, “I… don’t know?”

Ningguang shakes her head and laughs, face flushed and chest heaving, “You’re just impossible sometimes.”

Beidou scratches the back of her head and looks at Ningguang somewhat sheepishly, “Yeah, I suppose so… we really ought to find a solution to this, don’t we?”

Ningguang sighs and hums in agreement, “And quite soon.”
