Rachel is too good for her, too precious. Johanna fears she'll do her wrong, that her life will catch up with them and that Rachel will get hurt. Johanna can't let that happen. Rachel means too much to her. Rachel doesn't deserve anything bad happening to her. Ever.
Johanna knows she should leave. It's the only way Rachel will be free. The only way she will be safe. So Johanna tells herself that each kiss will be the last one. Each touch means it's almost over. Until she walks out the door and breaks Rachel's heart. The pain is agonizing.
