It'll Be Okay

Summary:

After an intense argument with Aziraphale, Crowley leaves Earth to get away from the angel.

It doesn't work.

Chapter Text

It all started at the garden, the bloody garden.

The Angel had lost their flaming sword, or so I had thought until speaking to them, and soon learned that this Angel had actually given it away.

Can you believe that? They had given it away? A powerful weapon directly from Heaven's arsenal?
And why? Because of the vicious animals that God herself had created.

She had created the animals, in hopes that they wouldn't kill the humans, but they did what most of God's creations do,

Didn't Listen.
But yet she had tasked the Angels to guide the humans throughout their short, short lives. Only the humans, not the lions, or the turtles, the birds, or even the snakes. I bet that the Dodos could have made it, with the extra help of angel, maybe even two.

Sounds pretty biased to me, but that isn't that kind of story.

My Angel had always told me that a good story has to have a beginning, a middle, and an end, and it has to be such a good ending that it sums up everything that had happened in the story into 'a neat, little bow'.

Heh, one of their most favorite metaphors.

The Garden was our beginning, our first meeting, our first full conversation together, and it was the second time this foolish demon had fallen.

And I had fallen hard. Quite painful, really.

Then there was our six-thousand years, the both of usmpopping in and out of each other's jobs and assignments for this reason or that, you all know the story, with them usually doing the bad thing, and I usually doing the good thing.

It was all in good fun, and I thought we were the greatest of friends, quite possibly partners actually, but my Angel, they hadn't felt the exact same.

“I don't even like you-”

“You do-”

No, they didn't. And that dialogue has stuck with me ever since.

“I don't even like you.”

But, how couldn't they? After everything we had been through together? After everything that we had done together, all the mischief and the malice that we had caused together over the centuries, now suddenly faded to black with the sharp exhale of those five words.

My cold-blooded heart shattered.

And now, what else was there left to do? Once Hell had found out about Aziraphale and I's time together, they had immediately called up Heaven, sending down their Backstreet Boy outfitted selves to find and eliminate both Aziraphale and I.

I had immediately left, not wanting to take a Hell's Bath. (Trademark Pending)

I had decided to flee, and so I did.

I know, I know. I had previously stated that this story had begun on the Garden wall, but truly, the story actually begins here-

The Constellation of Kasterborous.
