Summary
Gareth and Will have been together for a few weeks and things are going great, but Gareth is waiting for the other shoe to drop, knowing that no one stays. He knows that he has anger issues, like his father and his step-father. He doesn't know how to make it stop, and he is scared that Will wont like him if he doesn't hide parts of himself. But, how can he stop himself when Mike insists on hurting his boyfriend, his ex-step-father shows up, and everything seems to be falling apart around him.
Or: Mike is a dick, Gareth shows his true self, and Will kinda loves it.
Excerpt:
“Stop, stop Gare-bear.” Eddie whispered in his ear. “Remember what you told me. Stop and think.”And he did remember what he told Eddie. A few months into their friendship, Gareth had come to school with a black eye. Eddie was very familiar with black eyes, even from a young age and immediately clocked what happened. When he asked about it, Gareth broke down about his step-dads anger and abuse. Then he made Eddie promise that if he ever saw Gareth losing control of his anger the older boy would tell him to stop and think. He had never had to do that until today, and Gareth honestly thought he had forgotten.
