Chapter Text
Today is a special day.
It’s the birthday of Great Queen Amanita.
And for those unaware, Great Queen Amanita is the founder of the mushroom kingdom, and Princess Peach’s ancestor along with Great King Oyster.
But how did Great Queen Amanita and Great King Oyster, along with the Silly Spore Soldiers, find the mushroom kingdom?
Let’s go decades back, to an Orphanage in Victoria.
Alice is a young girl who loves adventure. She and her 5 best friends were in a little orphanage somewhere in Victoria, a city in the Cap Kingdom. She is the “leader” of the 6, and also the most injury-prone.
Oliver, the closest to Alice, is a boy who serves as the caretaker of the group other than the orphanage owner, who barely watches over them, only taking care of their wounds. Oliver is the most mature of the 6 children and also the eldest.
Rylee is the youngest of the 6, and the most creative. He comes up with stories to entertain the other children.
Fern is the shyest of the 6, but is still a bit outgoing. She is close to Rylee, as they are both the youngest of the group.
Thomas is a boy who’s also the tallest of the group, and is also quite sporty and good at self defense.
Carol is the funniest of the 6, cracking jokes whenever she can. She gets along with Rylee as both are creative.
One day, these kids were playing near a river with pipes. Suddenly. Alice stood in front of one pipe. “What would happen if we slid down?” She asked. Oliver’s eyes widened. “ABSOLUTELY NOT! It’s way too dangerous! What if we get lost, injured, or worse?” Alice sighed. “But this place is BOR-ING! Everyone! Get here! We’re escaping this place!” She called to the other kids.
Once all the kids lined up holding bags containing their things, Alice took a deep breath at she held onto the top of the pipe. “3… 2… 1… GO!” She shouted as she let go of the pipe and slid down like a water slide. After a few moments, Rylee followed suit. Then Carol, then Thomas, then Fern, and even Oliver. They all went through the water slide that was the pipe. They were all screaming. Some from excitement, others from fear and regret. But then, the pipes went from grey to green, and light was approaching at a rapid rate. The screams became louder, and then, one by one, they were shot out of the pipe and landed on a bunch of mushrooms before finally hitting the ground.
As the children got up, they realized they were in a land full of mushrooms. “Where are we?” Fern asked. Carol shrugged. “I don’t know, but I wonder if the mushrooms here are edible.” She said as she reached for a mushroom. Oliver grabbed the girl by her shirt before she could touch the mushroom. “Don’t touch that! We’re in a strange place and who knows what could happen!” He said. “This place is… beautiful…” Alice whispered under her breath.
“Who are you people?!” A shrill voice shouted from behind a mushroom. A short man covered in dirt emerged from behind the mushroom wielding a spear. “Hey, little guy!” Thomas said as he approached the man. “He has a spear!” Rylee shouted. “Goldielocks!” The man said while pointing his spear at Alice, the only one with blonde hair. “What are you and your friends doing here?” He asked. Alice pointed to herself. “Me? Well, I am considered the leader of this group… We went through a pipe and landed here.” She said. “Also, my name isn’t goldielocks! I’m Alice!” She added before the others introduced themselves.
The short man scoffed. “Nice to meet you. I am a toad, we don’t usually have names.” He said. “Aw, that sucks. Can we name him?” Rylee asked the others. “Yeah. It must be sad to not have a name.” Fern said. “He has spots on his head, so let’s call him Spots!” Carol said. “Spots fits!” Alice said. “Sounds good to me!” The Toad said. “Nice to meet you, Spots!” Thomas said. “I wanna explore this place!” Alice said. “We should find a way out.” Oliver said. “But I wanna explore too!” Rylee said. “Me too!” Carol said. “I’ll keep you guys safe, I promise!” Spots said. Oliver sighed as he gave up trying to reason with them. “Sure. Let’s explore.” He said.
So, with their bags containing toys, snacks, and clothes, the six children set off with Spots to explore this mysterious new world. But not even Rylee could predict the wonders that would happen next.
