   Summary

   Dick forces himself to stay still as Slade gets close and starts to seriously inspect the collar. Swallows down the urge to duck out of the way when he hears Slade pull a blade out of its sheath, and then again when he sees the glint of the blade far far too close to his neck.

   Then it’s Slade’s fingers on Dick’s face, slowly tilting his head to the side with the faintest pressure against his jaw. Hands that could just as easily break Dick’s bones, and that thought makes him exhale sharply, too loudly for Slade not to notice.

   “You really—” Slade says, so close Dick can feel the warmth of his breath, the words carrying noticeable surprise. “—really can’t leave.”
