at lunch their table is full, everyone wants to sit with them, as if by sharing food they share the popularity.
the boys are playful and loud, challenging each other to eating contests and burping the alphabet.
The girls are chatty and giggly, bits of gossip between the bites of sandwiches and using the napkins to catch crumbs.
Jason notices that Chrissy doesn’t really engages in the normal eating habits, she’s quiet and pushes her homemade salad around with a fork.
he thinks about asking, but doesn’t want to put her in the spot, she might simply not be hungry.
