Chapter Text
Quirk accidents happen all the time. Depending on the quirk itself, it can be a pain to deal with. This one is no exception. Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling a migraine coming on. One of his problem children, Midoriya Izuku, had gotten himself into, what looks like a quirk accident.
However, based on what he heard from Gran Torino, who was grocery shopping with Midoriya when it happened, the greenette became light headed and collapsed. His body started to glow and fade away, leaving no trace of his body. The old man said that it didn’t look like Midoriya had accidentally bumped into someone or someone accidentally touched him at all on their way to the shop.
Just then, he got news that there was some unknown green vigilante stopping a bank raid from Detective Tsukauchi. Aizawa turned on the news and recognized the familiar green costume on the screen. It was Midoriya, but something looked… different about him. Where did Midoriya acquire rocket boots?!
Gran Torino sped off to help stop the crime but it had already been taken care off when he arrived, thanks to Izuku. Or rather, what looked like Izuku.
“Is something wrong, Eraserhead?”
Now, Eraserhead was walking back to the dorms with ‘Izuku’ in tow. He glanced at him for a moment, taking in the way ‘Izuku’ looks right now. Metallic body parts, glass screen over his eyes, subtle whirring and mechanical sounds as he kept walking, and four dots in the shape of a diamond just below the eyes.
Simply put, this was Izuku, or rather, Hero Deku…
As a robot.
“No. Nothing at all.”
Just then, the green antennas on Deku’s mask began twitching. “Hm… My sensors indicate you are not coming down with a sickness. But, you only received five hours of sleep today. Please get some rest when you can.”
“Right…”
The robot sounded like his problem child, but it sounded more… mature, like if Midoriya was in his early 30’s. It was weird. No doubt his class will just be as unsettled by this robotic version of their friend.
“Hey! Did you guys see the news? There was a vigilante that stopped a bank raid.” Hagakure jumped in her pajamas.
“Yeah! Apparently, they were so fast that the camera couldn’t catch them properly.” Kaminari added.
“They even stopped the bank raid at an impressive speed.” Jirou said.
“Sounds like Iida-kun has some competition in the speed department.” Uraraka giggled.
“Nonsense! If I were there when the incident occurred, I would have stopped them with the backup of other heroes. Not only that, we would have taken down the vigilante as well!” The glasses wearer waved his hands in a chopping motion.
Katsuki sat nearby in the common room, finishing up his food as he listened in on the conversation, but pretending he didn’t care. Next to him, Eijirou chimed in as he finished his food. “Wait, guys! I found a close up picture of the vigilante!”
“Really? What do they look like, kero.” Tsuyu asked.
“Well, it’s still kind of blurry but…” The red head squinted at his phone. “They kind of look like…” Just then, his eyes widened for a moment.
Katsuki noticed this and huffed. “The hell is taking so long. Just spit it out already.”
“It just… It kind of looks like Midoriya…”
“HAH!?” The blonde stood abruptly, his chair screeching behind him. “Give me that!” He grabbed Kirishima’s phone.
The rest of his classmates gathered around him to have a look for themselves. Katsuki zoomed in on the picture and narrowed his eyes. He sees the nerd all the time to know what he looks like. As of right now, he only sees a green blur. Nothing about this looks like-
Then, his breath stilled. He sees what Kirishima is talking about. At the end of the blur, there was the shape of the head. It looked like Deku with his mask and metal face guard on… just like when he ran away from U.A.
Ochaco gasped, most likely catching on as well. In no time, the rest of the class stared wide eyed at the picture. The vigilante looked like their own classmate.
“H-Hey, maybe it’s not Midoriya, y-you know?” Mineta chuckled nervously.
“Y-Yeah… It’s probably just a coincidence.” Mina nodded.
Class 2A can never forget the way Izuku looked when they came to get him back. Ragged, tired, broken down. The way his mask was wrinkled, weathered, and torn at the tips made him look as if he was some other being not from this planet. The piercing green eyes sent shivers through their bodies, even Katsuki.
“That damn nerd… He better have a good fucking explanation for this.” He tossed the phone back to Kirishima, who scrambled to catch it so it would fall.
“But, didn’t Midoriya say he was going to visit Gran Torino for some training?” Momo said.
“Yeah, he texted me about it.” Ochaco nodded.
“Maybe that’s why Aizawa-sensei bolted out of here so suddenly…” Ojiro pondered.
“You think so?” Sato said.
Just then, the front doors opened. The underground pro hero stepped through the threshold and saw his class huddled together. “Ah, you’re all hear. Good.”
“Sensei! What’s going on!?” Kirishima and everyone else ran over to him.
“Is it true the vigilante looks like Midoriya?” Todoroki asked.
Aizawa sighed. “I think it would be easier to show you than to tell you.” He turned his head. “Come in.”
The class waited with baited breath as they heard footsteps. Not long after, collective gasps erupted as they see who, or rather, what came in. It was Izuku in his hero costume… but as a robot?
The… thing, turned it’s head robotically, taking in it’s surroundings. Piercing green eyes landed on the crowd of stupefied students.
“Hello. I am M1-D0. Also known as Pro Hero: Iron Emerald. But, everyone calls me Mido. It is nice to meet you.” The green eyes turned into upward arrow heads, indicating glee.
Aizawa rubbed his temple as his class erupted into confusion and shock. He doesn’t get paid enough for this.
Izuku blinked his eyes open. His gloved hand came up to his head, trying to make his headache go away. “Ugh… what happenepjd…”
Slowly, he got up. He placed his other hand on the nearby wall. As his vision clears, he can see that he’s in some alleyway. “Why… am I here…? Ah! Gran Torino!” He turned around only to find a dead end of the alleyway. “W-Wha… Where is this place…"
“Okay, Izuku, calm down. Try to think this through. What happened to you…” Izuku began to mumble to himself the events of what happened.
He remembers going to visit Gran Torino for some training. Once he arrived at the old man’s house, he wanted to go grocery shopping first before training as there wasn’t anything in his fridge. More than happy to help, Izuku accompanied him in his hero costume. He still had his Provisional License so using his quirk in public was no big deal.
Once they arrived at the grocery store, he felt light headed. Most likely passed out since he woke up. So if he passed out in the store, then why did he wake up in the alleyway. Izuku started walking as he tried to figure out why he was moved.
“If I woke up here, then was someone carrying me? To where though? Was Gran Torino carrying me to the nearest hospital? Or did a villain kidnap me? If so, how did I pass out? I didn’t smell anything weird like sleeping gas. Unless… Maybe there was a quirk accident that happened in the grocery store? Did someone let off some sleeping agent by accident?”
Izuku was reaching an intersection in the alleyway, when he heard a voice.
“Mido! Where are you!?”
The greenette perked up. “Mido? Did someone lose their child?” He moved to find the source of the voice. But he couldn’t help but wonder why the voice sounded familiar.
As he took a few steps, he heard loud stomping coming from the left side of the alleyway. The person came into view and both of them stopped as they locked eyes with each other. Both of them too stunned to say a word. Both of them speechless for different reasons.
Izuku gulped. “K-Kacchan…?”
That made the other’s eyes widen. “De… Izuku…?”
It was Bakugo Katsuki. His childhood friend, turned rival, turned bully, turned to sort of friends again but still rivals.
Except… he was taller and older.
And even more handsome.
