After Sapnap and George arrived in California for the banter meet up with Karl they decided to go to the mall first.
They have been walking around for almost two hours when Sapnap saw a tiny, but interesting store somewhere hidden around a corner, it had big LED letter above the entry and a few Pokémon LED’s on the window.
Immediately interested, he asked Karl and George if they would be okay to go in with him really quickly, which they absent mindedly declined, too busy conversating with each other about their next banter episode.
So Sapnap decided to go in on his own, he’ll catch up with them later anyways.
Once he got to the store he was in awe with the display, Pokémon cards, anime posters, figurines, plushies, you name it!
It was simply nerd-paradise.
Walking in, a tiny bell was heard notifying the shop owner a new costumer entered. Sapnap was entranced with all the goods around him, wanting to buy each and every Pokémon pack he could lay his eyes on, scanning and walking around the store, taking note of everything that reminded him of Karl that he might buy later on.
Hee ended up at the back in front of a beautiful display of wearable merchandise, from Demon Slayer sweaters, pastel hoodies to Gon and Killua t-shirts. Though his eyes were caught on the hoodies, pretty colors all around, but one particular purple stood out, it reminded him of Karl.
Picking up the soft material he noticed how the hood had something on it,
Bunny ears.
Now if that isn’t coincidental!
He always kind of associated Karl with bunnies, no reasons that could explain it but he just did.
Already having decided he’s going to get the hoodie for Karl, he looked through the other clothing items, finding an orange hoodie and immediately checking the hood to see if it also had animal ears, expecting a tiger or a lion as a cliché orange animal, but no to his surprise tiny panda-like ears covered the top of its hood, he found the perfect match for Karl and now also him.
Having both hoodies in his grasp he walked to the checkout and paid for them, he quickly returned to where he’d hopefully find his two friends.
He kept the hoodies hidden in the bag, not yet telling the two what he bought, not that they asked for it anyways.
They went home quickly after Sapnap came back, having already seen the mall in its full glory.
They arrived at Karl’s home after a 10 minute drive full of banter and a discussion on dinner between sapnap and George.
They eventually decided on getting sushi takeout, once they got inside they all sat in the living room, George on the phone with the sushi restaurant and Karl putting on the tv and searching for a movie to watch.
Sapnap decided to get them all some fresh water bottles from the kitchen and as he was about to walk back into the living room he was met with a curious look from Karl on the couch.
Sapnap, being oblivious as he is, walked towards him giving a single brow up as a silent question at Karl as to why he was looking at him like that, handing Karl his water and setting the other two bottles down he heard Karl ask;
“what’s in that oh, so mysterious bag you’ve been carrying around?”.
Sapnap looked confused for a quick second before remembering the plastic bag that was still around his arm, looking down at it he set it down and explained to Karl;
“oh this?! So you know that store I saw at the mall, when I asked if you two wanted to come with me? So it appears to be this tiny nerdy shop with all kinds of anime stuff, anyways that’s not important, I got you something!”
He opened the bag and handed the soft material to Karl, Karl took it and looked at him with big wide eyes and mouth agape, not knowing how to react yet.
He’s a bit confused.
He looked at the material and unfolded it, looking back at sapnap, and smiling slightly, he said;
“A hoodie?”
“Yeah, but it gets better, look at the hood”
Sapnap said as Karl starts flipping the hoodie over and grabbing the hood, two long bunny ears flop and hang off his hands.
“It made me think of you, you know how our fans associate you with a bunny and I kinda do too! So I thought it would be cool”.
Sapnap is looking expectantly at Karl, hoping for a reaction.
just as he starts to feel like Karl isn’t a fan, he feels two arms around his shoulders and a head in his neck pulling him in a big bear-hug, he hears a giggle come out of the man in his arms, and a soft, but noticeable;
“Thankyou, this is awesome”
“Ofcourse no problem, i thought we could maybe match, I got another one for me but with panda ears..”
Sapnap slowly pulls away from the hug and pulls out the orange hoodie and unfolds it, showing it off to Karl, and pointing out the panda ears.
Karl gasped and immediately moved to stand up, grabbing sapnap’s hand and dragging him towards his bathroom where his big mirror hangs.
“Let’s put them on, please! I want to take some selfies of us.”
Karl said as he already started to pull the fabric over his head.
Sapnap followed, and soon they were both in the comfortable hoodies looking at each other.
Smiling, Karl reached a hand towards sapnap’s hood and ignoring the hat sap had on pulled it over his head, quickly pulling his own hood up too.
Sapnap was dumbstruck but a small smile crept up his face, shuffling to stand next to Karl [read next as IN HIS SIDE] and pulling his phone out to take the pictures Karl wanted so badly.
After they took a dozen of selfies, Sapnap attempted to put away his phone.
He was quickly stopped by Karl grabbing the phone out of his grasp, and putting it up to take a few more pictures.
somewhere in the middle of the camera shutter sounds Karl turned his head, and gave Sapnap a quick peck on his left cheek.
A second later he gave Sap’s phone back smiling at him and simply turned around dragging a flustered Sapnap back.
they returned to the living room, finding George sitting on his own.
They may or may not have forgotten about him being there for a quick second..
He stared up at the two, breaking out in laughter and wheezes after seeing their hoodies with the ears up.
“You two look like idiots” George said in a lighthearted tone.
Sapnap grumbled a quick “shut up” before sitting down in the corner of the couch.
Karl came over and sat against sapnap pulling him into a side hug and whispering a soft “Thankyou” soft enough that only Sap can hear it, only to feel two soft lips on the side of his head after a second.
Sapnap tightened his arm around Karl and thought.
one second, two seconds, three seconds and then he decided to peck Karl’s cheek, and swiftly looked back at whatever was playing on the tv acting as if nothing happened, they both knew though, and they’ll talk about it tonight or tomorrow. For now they’ll chill around, eat their sushi, watch the movie and cuddle up to each other.
George saw everything happen on the side, but decided against saying something about it, he’ll tease them about it at a more appropriate time for sure.
After receiving a notification that their sushi was there, George stood up to receive it from the delivery guy.
Walking back to the living room with everything needed to enjoy their food he shot a quick message to dream;
George
To Dream:
19:34- you’ll never believe what just happened.
George returned to his two friends cuddled up and resting in contentment, he smiled to himself.
They eventually ate in silence after some grumbles from Sapnap not wanting to let go of Karl, wrapped in his bunny hoodie.
He looked lovely as always.
Sapnap and Karl had their hands interlocked that entire night after dinner, not letting go unless the other really had to do something, they were blissfully in love, they have been for a while, but today was a silent agreement and tomorrow they’ll verbalize their love for each other, surely.
Step by step they fall more in adoration and love, each day a little bit more.
