Summary
Kai loves his dad.
He doesn’t mind all the weird things Dad does. Sometimes he feels very strange after doing the things Dad asks of him, like someone plucks him out of his own body and dangles him just out of reach of the controls of his body as it moves around on its own like a silly puppet. The first time it happened, Dad held him and comforted him until he came back. The following times it happened, Dad would do the same things, whispering praises to Kai as he gently brushed the boy’s wild hair with his fingers. It became kind of a ritual. Kai isn’t sure how to feel about it—it’s not very pleasant—but when he tells Dad he doesn't like feeling like that, he assures him it's okay; Daddy always makes him feel better so it's okay.
