Chapter Text
It was move-in day for college, again.
Miko couldn't believe her parents forced her to go back to her business major. She had no idea what she wanted to do with her life so she took the basic degree. A gap year to work would've been better. Some money in her pocket would've provided much more than slaving away over a text book for the rest of the year.
The pink-haired lady dragged her bags down the hallway. Doors were propped open with suitcases and boxes from fellow students moving in, letting the afternoon sun in through all of the windows. It was slightly blinding.
Chatter from roommates getting acquainted and friends reuniting filled the hallway. Miko was already tired of how happy these people were to be back.
"520. . . 520. . ." She mumbled, glancing from the messy crinkled notes up to the numbers on the door frames. "How far own is this damn room-"
"Looking for 520? It's just down around the corner," A short blue-haired lady spoke up from a doorway. Miko paused, looking at her.
"Oh. . . thanks," The pink hair lady nodded, continuing down the hall. The goodbyes from the lady in the door went unanswered as Miko stormed around the corner. She wanted to get her things in the room so she could get the fuck out of this bright, dusty nightmare of a dormitory.
Swinging around the corner, there was a small group of people gathered around a doorway. Maybe three or four, all leaning on some form of wall, all very much in her way. Miko paused, studying the diversity of people in front of the door.
Most of them seemed to be from Inazuma, she could tell by the way they dressed. More blue-haired people, one was much taller than her with silky looking short locks. He seemed to be the older brother of the shorter ponytailed lady standing next to him. Leaning against the door was a lady with short hair, a short blue eyed lady holding her waist.
Miko approached the group, glancing at the door number.
Fuck.
Of course, the group of people gathered around the door way were all gathered around her doorway. She should've payed more attention to who she was placed with this year.
"Are we in your way?" The girl with the ponytail asked, leaning around her brother to make eye contact with Miko.
"Yeah actually. You guys couldn’tve done this conversation inside the dorm to clear the halls?" She cocked her head back, resting her hand on her hip. The girl with the ponytail frowned a little.
"Oh sorry, we didn't think anyone else was coming through here."
"Ei didn't say she was placed with anyone" The short haired lady spoke up, moving to stand instead of leaning on the door. The girl with blue eyes stood up as well, pushing her long pink hair over her shoulders.
Miko froze. Ei? Like high school enemy Ei? The Ei.
"You alright?" The guy with blue hair asked, standing up tall as well
"Sorry- Ei? Like the one with purple hair?" She asked quickly, pulling her suitcase up to her legs. The group nodded, shuffling around to reveal the person in question. Miko's brows furrrowed.
Everyone looked at her strangely. Even Ei.
Miko stared in disbelief.
----
"You really hate her that much? Why?" Thoma asked, staring down at Miko in disbelief.
"You do not want to know what she's done to me," She grumbled, grabbing another egg out of the carton to hurl at the house, "She gets what she deserves for RUINING my high school"
Thoma shook his head in disappointment, "Y'know people bullied me too, I don't go egging their houses."
"If you're not gonna help just stand there and look pretty okay?" She asked, patting his shoulder before throwing another egg right at Ei's window.
----
Moments after Miko had set her things inside, she'd left again. And called up the only person she could think of for support at this moment.
"You were placed with the girl who ruined your life. . . four years ago." Thoma scoffed, setting his coffee down.
"Yes. I didn't look at the placements. . . I'm going to die in there," She sobbed into her hands.
"Pull yourself together Miko! It was four years ago! I doubt she's going to remember. Yeah it was a big deal then, but why now in your second year of college?" He patted the table, inviting the pink-haired lady to lift her head. She wiped her tears and runny makeup.
"It ruined my LIFE. We were sworn enemies from then on," Miko told Thoma her whole sob story, all of which the blonde wasn't sympathetic towards.
"Thoma you're my best friend! You're suposed to comfort me!" She cried, kicking him under the table.
"First of all, ow, that hurt, secondly, because I'm your best friend I've heard all of this already. I get it. You're still mad about all of the awful things she's done to you," He said sternly. After years of knowing him, Miko could pick out the slightly comforting tone. He was only this serious and prickly with her. Miko liked that he could let his façade down around her.
She did not, however, enjoy it when he was so blunt with her.
"Would you like me to buy your coffee or something?" He asked, rubbing her back. Miko sighed, relishing in the comforting touch before sitting up.
"You're right. It was in high school, we're second year college now. It's not like anyone's gonna remember this stupid drama."
