Booker's Mug Of Coffee:

Summary:

Booker and Nile come up with a clever way to punish Joe and Nicky for all the kissing.

Notes:

FYI: My mate drinks his coffee the way Booker does.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

When Nile entered the kitchen, she almost tripped over Joe who was lying on the floor.

Booker: "Don't ask. Ignore him."

Booker pours more coffee into his mug before adding ten spoonfuls of sugar, milk, whipped cream, and colourful sprinkles. Everyone thinks it's disgusting the way Booker drinks his coffee, but Booker doesn't care. He loves his coffee that way.

Nile: "Why are you lying there, Joe?"

Joe takes a deep breath.

Booker: "And you asked. I'm leaving. Good luck with the drama queen."

Booker just stepped over Joe without looking at the man on the floor.

Joe: "My heart has been ripped out of my chest."

Nile: "You do know that Nicky will return soon. He is just getting milk, so why don't you get off the floor? I bet a chair is better for your back."

Joe: "I'm not moving before my heart returns again where it belongs. Leave me here to wallow in self-pity. I don't have the strength to move."

Joe sighs deeply as he looked at the front door. Nile just shook her head as she walked into the living room.

Nile: "Is Joe always this dramatic whenever Nicky is getting milk?"

Booker: "More or less. Ignore him. That is what I do and so goes for Andy."

Booker drinks the rest of his coffee before he raises his hands and counts down from five.

Booker: "I would move out of the way now."

The front door opens and Nile almost gets knocked over by Joe, who jumps into Nicky's arms who catches him.

Joe as he starts to kiss Nicky's face: "One kiss for every minute we were apart."

Nicky just laughs over the silliness while being kissed all over his face.

Booker: "Are you ok, Nile?"

Joe looks over his shoulder and sees Nile getting off the sofa.

Joe: "Why are you lying like that?"

Nile: "Because I got run over by a lovesick hurricane named Joe."

Joe a bit confused: "What do you mean?"

Booker: "It means, get out of the living room. Unless you want to be called Old MacDonald in your passport again you should take your love life somewhere else than my office."

Nicky hands Nile the milk before he throws Joe over his shoulder. They leave the living room laughing.

Nile: "Is that something you do often? Give them a name after a nursery rhyme?"

Booker: "Yes, most of all as a punishment for all the things I don't want to see."

Nile: "Hmmm."

Booker: "What?"

Nile: "I might have an idea of names you can use. And I'm pretty sure, they will not pick up on them."

Booker: "That's interesting. Please tell me more."

Nile: "Let me put the milk away and I get my laptop. Then I'll show you."

Booker: "Let me handle the milk because I'm getting another cup of coffee."

Nile resists saying anything about the way Booker drinks his coffee. She just agrees with the others.
