Summary
I got nothing. I was inspired by a tiktok post that asked someone to write something like this. I hope that i captured their desire at least somewhat. And as always I refer to my trusty excerpt as I can't write a summary to save my life.
Excerpt:
“W-wass ‘rong” Buck stumbles over his words, exhausted. His hair is bed messy, sandy locks tossed in wild directions.
“You almost fucking died.” Eddie says.
He begins to cry.
It happens somewhere between the words leaving his mouth and his understanding of their gravity. He says them over and over again brokenly. Like now that the dam has broken there’s no stopping its release.
Buck moves close to Eddie and cups his face in his hands.
“Eddie, Eddie, Ed. Hey, look at me,” and he slips one hand under Eddie’s chin to turn his face towards him. “But I didn’t. I didn’t honey. I'm right here.”"

“You’re not putting anything on me. I was a mess when you were shot. I couldn’t sleep. Sometimes I went for days like that. And…” He trails off and his voice cracks. “I kept that from you. I’d never want you to do that. I know I won’t next time.”

God there’s going to be a next time isn’t there. Jesus he doesn’t know if he can do a next time. And they’ve been lucky haven’t they? But luck only runs so far and, and, and….
It’s so hard to breathe.
