A/N: The timeline of this story is based on the Wikipedia ME Universe Timeline.
According to the timeline, the events of ME take place from 2183-2186. That implies the events of ME1, ME2,and ME3 only took six months to complete. Shepard was dead for two years, and incarcerated for six months. The timeline also states that Shepard was 33 years old at the completion of ME3.
However, according to Casey Hudson, Drew Karpashyn, and Preston Watamiuk[sp?], the three main creators of the ME universe, as they see it, the Saren mission took from six to eleven months to complete. The Collector mission can be anywhere from five to eight months, and the war lasted seven months. Technically, that means the war actually started in 2187 at the earliest.Except for flashback chapters/scenes, all events take place in 2187.
