Chapter Text
For as long as they both remember, Uki and Fulgur have been hanging out ever since they met at the park when they were still little children.
“Hi! I’m Uki. What’s your name?” a three-year-old Uki Violeta introduced himself to a five-year-old Fulgur Ovid.
“Fulgur… Fulgur Ovid. I’m five years old!” Fulgur said, eyes meeting with Uki’s curious doe eyes as he held his three fingers up.
“Three!” the younger giggled softly, and Fulgur smiled, endeared by the cute little boy in front of him.
Ever since then, the two had been playmates and become the best of friends.
One day, a group of boys came up to Uki, and started making fun of him for having violet hair, “you wook ugwy, you have no fwens” one of them said, and that hurt Uki. Uki started crying and some boys got scared that Uki’s mother might come up to them to scold them, and some are still laughing. But Fulgur was not having any of it.
“Don’t be mean! Uki is beautiful and perfect. Get away from us!” he yelled at them, lips forming an angry pout, right arm raised up and pointed at somewhere far away from them. “Uki? Don’t cry. I’m here okay? I got you.” Fulgur said, wiping his tears away with his small hands. Uki smiled and hugged him tightly.
Uki and Fulgur grew up to be inseparable. They were with each other through ups and downs.
“Mom! I want it.” seven-year-old Fulgur says, hands holding a white hair dye while strolling through the grocery with his mom. “Honey, we can’t dye your hair. You’re still a little kid and your hair would be ruined!” Fulgur’s mom explained.
“No! I want it so Uki would feel better!” Fulgur shouted, annoyed at his mother for not giving him what he wants causing a commotion. All the customers at the store started staring at them and his mom gave in with a heavy sigh leaving her mouth. As soon as the two got home, Fulgur begged his mother to dye half of his hair white. Not minding the stinging sensation from the bleach, Fulgur only imagines the reaction he will receive from Uki when he sees Fulgur’s new hairstyle tomorrow.
The next morning came and Fulgur was excited to see Uki at the park to show his hair. When Uki arrived at their spot, he immediately pointed at Fulgur’s head, eyes wide in shock, and said, “Woah, hair! Mom, hair!” Uki shouted, running at his mother and holding onto her hand to drag her where Fulgur was playing.
“Oh! Fulgur, you look so good!” Uki’s mother complimented and gently smiles at him. She then ruffled his hair and went back to her usual seat with Fulgur’s mom. All throughout the day Uki was smiling brightly at Fulgur and kept on touching his hair. Loving everything about it and how Fulgur looks good with the new hairstyle.
Uki’s mom called out to his son telling him to say goodbye and inform them about going home to Fulgur to which the little boy followed. “Fuu-fuu? My mom and I need to go home now! Thank you so much for playing with me! I had so much fun!” Uki said, smiling at Fulgur and slowly leaning toward him and giving him a tight hug.
“You look so good, fufu. Thank you so much.” Uki whispered, lets go of Fulgur and ran to his mom bidding farewell to Fulgur one last time.
Uki never saw it but by the time he left Fulgur, the little boy was blushing and smiling at the ground alone.
