Beatrice's Hellish Comedy

A hate filled shriek echoed throughout the dull red void as a scarlet hand clawed at the air in a feeble attempt to bring harm to those who had banished her from Gematria. Soon, that hand and what was left of the Visionary of Pilgrims collapsed and imploded on itself, before bursting into a cloud of butterflies made from red light which faded as quickly as they came.

“Well, that settles the matter of Beatrice.” concluded the figure in the Black Suit.

The headless figure in the trench coat shifted the portrait in his arm towards the Black Suited figure, “Hmmm, how curious...” spoke the portrait.

“How so, Golconde? ” spoke the wooden doll, “It erased her as intended, yes?”.

The trench coat figure turned the portrait of Golconde towards the wooden artist, “Well Maestro, while my estimates were probable on the elimination of Beatrice through that method, it seems she was merely dispersed into the ether rather than outright annihilated. Perhaps the Narrative had other plans and had shifted her story to a different path”.

“Will she reform and pose a problem in the future?” asked the wooden artist.

“No doubt she will reform , but it will take some time before that and her form will not be the same as before. She will be reduced in power, so she won’t pose much of a threat.” the portrait replied.

The figure in the Black Suit clapped his hands, “If that's the case, let us focus on the more pressing issue of The Iridescence, yes?”

BUT OF COURSE!” yelled out the headless figure.

In the slums near the Catacombs of Trinity at dusk, small red lights flicker into reality. Slowly, one by one, they shape into butterflies before constellating and forming into a red glowing mass. With a burst of light, the place where the mass was revealed a teenage girl, who then collapses onto her knees desperately gasping for air in her newly formed lungs. Everything around her was spinning, her heart was pounding, mind racing to find answers to the questions she found herself asking.

What was this feeling? Was this fear? No, that can’t be it. This must be… confusion, yes, she was merely dazed, that's it, simply dazed. Why was she here? The last thing she remembered… Those, THOSE INGRATES! They had nearly killed her even though she had aided them in their idiotic pursuit of knowledge! Luckily, the fools they are, have failed in their endeavor to kill her. For all she had done for them, it was all taken away by them and their blindness to the root issue… She calmed her breath and focused on her perceived injustices, slowing her heart from fervent beats to a calm rhythm.

SENSEI OF SCHALE…

All her humiliations: being defeated by the Squad twice, failing to gain the powers of The Iridescence, being forced to be dragged back by  Golconda and Decalcomania, having her estate of Arius District taken from her, being nearly killed… It all tied back to that Sensei. That enigma of neither mystery nor terror, an outsider who has so much power despite their naivety, the object of her hatred. The former adult picked herself off the ground and dusted off her white skirt. She gazed at the landscape around her: a filthy slum, and by the look of the architecture, somewhere in or near Trinity. A slight reflection of light near a bin caught her eye. A cracked mirror, thrown away like the trash it is, in the glass stood her.

She was a rather tall teenage girl, around 16 in age. Her skin was slightly dark in complexion, she was rather well endowed.  She was wearing her white lace gloves, as well as a similarly white long dress like skirt and a sailor style shirt with a red necktie. Long dark hair flowed down to her hip, where something is holstered; From what it feels like, she had heels on. To the sides of her head were two white wings covering her ears with the faint pattern of eyes, similar to a peacock’s feathers. A crimson halo floated above her head in the shape of a simple large crimson circle. Disdainful maroon eyes stared back at her form with irritation.

“Great, I have transformed into a weak child of Kivotos. This is just another of the humiliations that Sensei had inflicted onto me" Beatrice hissed, “While weaker than my original form, it seems like I have acquired mystery upon transforming into this childish form. This may prove useful in getting close to and enacting my revenge onto that fool; Besides, I’ve been a child since I’m an adult, it’ll be easy to act like one… wait, what was it like?...”

The former adult clutched her head, vague memories of adolescence came to her blurred. Prim and proper uniforms? Hollow Perfect grades? A feeling of patheticness? Beatrice shook her free of trying to delve deeper into those useless memories. She had to focus on the now, and on the how: to kill sensei.

She then remembered the odd holster by her hip. With mild grace and some fumbling she opened the holster and pulled out what was in it: a large 357 magnum revolver, with a 102mm barrel at the 6 o'clock position made of a material similar to black marble and a grip made from deep crimson rosewood. Her angelic face grinned a smile that would make the Devil blush.

“Well this is convenient . This… Will be my tool where my killing intent will flow through~” mused Beatrice before she broke out cackling into the fading light…

“Damn bitch, you’ll wake up the whole district with that laugh, if you can even call it a laugh” an arrogant voice called from the side.

Beatrice slowly turned her head towards where the insolent noise came from. A pair of sukeban girls stood and stared at her. She stared back with murderous intent.

The girl with the minigun leaned into the girl beside her, “Damn she has a death glare, wait… that outfit seems real fancy. Maybe she’s a Trinity student.”

“That’ll be a nice ransom” whispered the sniper girl before turning to the white dressed student, “Well well well, looks like a little girl from Trinity came to our little slum?”

The minigun sukeban nodded, “Yeah, you came here to fulfill your dark magical girl fantasy?~” she snarked.

As the two girls slowly walk towards her, Beatrice briefly inspects the gun, casually aims it at the minigun girl, and pulls the trigger. In a brief moment, a white magnum tracer flew through the air, leaving a hellish red heat wave behind it. Upon impact with the minigun sukeban, it exploded into a burst of crimson light and black cinders, knocking the girl back into a nearby wall, leaving an impact mark on it and knocking her out.

“HOLY SHIT SHE HAS DARK MAGICAL GIRL POWERS!” exclaimed Beatrice’s next target.

Despite being in heels, Beatrice swiftly rushed over to the awe struck sukeban and pinning her firing hand to the wall with her arm. Looking directly into the deep red eyes of her assailant while pinned, the sniper’s heart skipped a beat… Before she felt a magnum revolver’s barrel on her chin and her heart began having a panic attack.

“Look, we’re sorry that we tried to jump you! We’ll leave you alone! Please don’t shoot my face!” cried out the sukeban.

Beatrice paused for a moment, “If you answer some questions, then I will let you go unharmed,” lied Beatrice, “What is today’s date and year?”

“Oh um, it’s the 14th of March, uhhh 2023!” stuttered the sukeban.

That date… that would mean she was gone for around a month and a half. By then The Iridescence should have come and wiped Kivotos out. That would imply that Sensei… Had driven it off?!? What a preposterous idea, maybe she had the dates wrong, but she had made sure her predictions were correct. Did Sensei truly manage to drive off what unspeakable horrors of the Forgotten God? Perhaps those Germatia ingrates might-MIGHT have had logical reasons to have Sensei ally with them… Even she, with her high standards, is mildly impressed with Sensei.

“Ummm, Miss? You’re sort of digging into my chin with that gun of yours…” nervously asked the Sukeban, “And why did you want the date? Shouldn’t you have known about it? Well that dress seems rather old styled… Are you some sort of time travelled ancient person?”

That comment jolted Beatrice out of her stupor; she felt her eye twitching from it. The sniper sukeban thought she saw the sclera of the girl’s eyes turn black as she stared directly at her with fury.

“Oh I should have not said that” said the sukeban as a point blank magnum shot knocked her five meters into the air before she landed in a nearby trash bin.

“It would’ve been beneficial to ask where Schale is,” sighed Beatrice, “But I will Have my revenge, no matter how hard it is

1 Hour Later

BGM: Blue Archive OST 4. Lovely Picnic

Surprisingly it was easy to get directions to Schale.

Surprisingly it was easy to get to Schale on foot (despite sweating on the way).

Surprisingly it was easy to get into Schale.

Surprisingly it was easy to get directions to Sensei’s office.

All before sunset.

Now at the door of her hatred, Beatrice is… slightly concerned on how easy it was to get into Schale. The gate was automatic so it opened for her, with a sign stating the operating hours of Schale and how access was restricted during emergencies, but the gate showed signs of repeated forced entry and repair. In the entrance lobby, there was a sign asking to have all firearms be put on safe and to have no ammo currently loaded into the weapon; she opened her empty revolver (which curiously materializes bullets out of the ether when needed) in front of the cameras and showed that it was “empty”. There were only cameras in key junctions of the Schale building and even a young girl who operated a store in the building gave her directions to Sensei’s office in case she got lost, WHICH SHE DID NOT NEED.

All these small gates protecting Sensei that all the students of Kivotos cherished. If she knew how easy it was to get to Sensei, she would’ve just sent someone over here to take out sensei directly and he would have welcomed his assassin with open arms. Beatrice noticed she was giving off an unsightly grin, so she quickly composed herself and walked into the office.

It was well kept, as any adult should with their work space. A line of glass cabinets neatly stood against the left wall, each filled with various educational materials and technical skill books; A whiteboard was at the back of the office, blocking the scenic view of the DU area, on it was scribbled tactical plans, battle strategies, and weirdly a bird shaped drawing; The overhead light lit the main table where the Sensei who every student in Kivotos looks up to worked… As well as A FEW DOZEN CANS OF ENERGY DRINKS PILED ON IT.  Beatrice immediately notices the white Schale overcoat on a figure sitting near the base of the pile, which meant only one thing…

“I-is this the Sensei of Schale that everyone looks up to?”  Beatrice instinctively spoke out.

The figure slumped over, falling onto the floor as well as knocking the pile of cans onto him.

Beatrice stared at the mess of man and cans that lie before her, “D-did he die before I even got here?!”

The corpse shifted and groaned, “Y-Yuuka? I-I d-did my taxes…”

Was this the antagonist to Beatrice’s supposed story? The man every girl looked up to? Her nemesis? It would be far too easy to finish him right there and now, he was too pathetic in that state. She needed to have him look her in the eyes… Yeah that’s it. She casually walked up to him, stepping over the mess of cans he accumulated. She holstered her revolver to use both hands to set Sensei up.

“Get up Sensei” hissed Beatrice as she pulled Sensei’s arms, “Have some decency and class for once in your life” She said, poorly hiding venom behind the attempt at caring.

Sensei’s half dazed eyes looked at the legs of the person helping him up. “Oh Karin~ I recognize those chocolate legs anywhere~”.

Beatrice stood dumb struck by the comment, “I do not know who you are referring to, but that sounds highly unprofess—”.

Right before she had sensei stood up straight, the foot she was placing her weight onto stepped right on top of a can, causing her to slip backwards. She braced for the impact of both the cold linoleum floor and the 70 Kilograms of man falling on top of her… But it never came to pass. When she opened her eyes, she saw Sensei; She felt his hand on the back of her head padding it from the floor and saw he was propped up on one arm to prevent him crushing the young girl. She was trapped in the glory of Sensei looking down upon her.

His dark shaggy brown hair hung above her head, his blue eyes changed from concerned to relieved, his gentle smile shines a warmest of light. He spoke out in a calm voice:  “Got ya. Hey, I haven’t seen you around, What’s your name?”

Her heart was racing and emotions surged within her. Was it Anger? Hate? Confusion? Panic? Fear? Whatever it was, she HATED IT. Her breath hastened and a sense of claustrophobia settled in; He was close, far too close, FAR TOO CLOSE! She shoved him off her and began scrambling towards the door.

“HEY!” cried Sensei as he got up from the shove, “Sorry about that! But… What’s your name!”

She paused before crossing the border with one arm by the doorway. Did she really have to tell him?... It would be beneficial to lure him into a false sense of security and understanding, or else it’ll be suspicious when she returns. Yes… she wants to come back… to slowly break down sensei, to inflict humiliation onto him, to have him suffer before ending him… Yes, that was the reason, nothing else. An awkward conflicted grin formed on her face.

“Bea… My name is Bea…” spoke Beatrice, while the name was made last minute, it felt… nostalgic for some reason.

Quickly she ran out from the building and into the night. Her heart pounding from shifting emotions and she found herself asking if she got herself into some Hellish Comedy?

BGM: Stop

From the tablet on the desk, a small hologram of a girl cried out, “Virgil Sensei!”

“Yes Arona?” Virgil Sensei replied as he dusted his pants off, “I’ve been shoved to the ground and have a serious energy drink headache right now”

“That girl… She had a really bad vibe!” stammered Arona, “When I sensed a faint Gematria presence in the building, she was already in your office! So I enhanced your defenses so she wouldn’t leave a scratch on you! But…”

“Looks like Beatrice got cold feet,” Sensei mused.

The assistant AI’s halo jumped upward, “What! When did you know?!”

Sensei shrugged, “Well, when I got a good look at her, she looked real like Beatrice, her mannerisms are similar too. Plus she called herself ‘Bea’ , which makes it a little obvious. Her Gematria presence just confirms it”.

“Sorry Sensei,” cried Arona, “We knew she would be back one day from what Black Suit said, but her new form and low presence took me off guard!”

“I was surprised too Arona” Comforted Virgil, “Seems like more than her body has changed… she is rather cute now~”

BGM: Blue Archive OST 6. Funky Road

The AI shot Sensei a confused look, “Didn’t she do a LOT of bad things to students? Like a lot-lot!”

Sensei nodded in agreement, “Yes, she did do a lot of very bad things, but I’m rather forgiving of my students, look at Gehenna~”, Virgil suddenly flashes a smirk before clenching his fist hard, “This means I get to correct her EXTRA hard~”

“Uwwwah Sensei! You scare me sometimes!” Arona cried out, “Wait, you said students ? Does that mean Beatrice is your student?” asked Arona.

A gentle smile forms across Virgil Sensei’s face as he loosens his fist, “But of course, any girl with a halo and willingness to learn is my student, and it seems like Beatrice is willing to learn without knowing it herself.”

The AI of the Shittem Chest’s eyes glowed with awe and her Halo sparkled green. Sensei nodded as he opened the fridge near his desk. He pulls out a can of Blue Can of Yokai Max before closing it.

“Well, I still have work to do, day’s still bright~” laughed Sensei.

“S-sensei, it’s 9:37pm… And you finished all of today’s work two hours ago!” Cried Arona.

Virgil perked up at that comment, “Oh!~ In that case.” Sensei quietly places the can back into the fridge and closed it; as soon as he closed the door, he went limp as a ragdoll and gently collapsing onto the floor. “Can you turn off the light Arona? Thanks and good night~”

“S-Sensei? Sensei! SEEEEENNNNNSSSEEEEEEEIIIIIIII!” Arona Cried out, but those cries fell on deaf ears as Sensei was unconscious. She begrudgingly turns off the light, but not before sending a small drone over to cover him with a blanket.

To be Continued?! Maybe. IDK!

Notes:

Gave gave this story's Sensei name as Virgil, referencing the Virgil from Dante's Divine Comedy. The fanfic's name also references this poem. This is due to Beatrice being the evil version of the similarly named character from the Poem. What else is related to the book, who knows! Symbolism and referencing is hard when you didn't read the book. Also gave her a Chippa Rhino 40D cause the poem is Italian like the gun.

Edit:
16th May 2025 - Revised Beatrice's halo description to be similar to her ascended form's version. Added OST links.
