Lego movie X Heathers the musical

Summary:

What if Rex didn't time travel back in time? What if he escaped undar and then found everyone. What would happen?

All of this is from Lucy's point of view unless specified.

!!There will be some strong language here and there, mentions and talk of murder and suicide, weapons, and a few other darker themes.!!

Had this idea come to me whilst listening to Heathers the musical, and so each chapter will be inspired by one song from that musical in order from the west end album. And so every chapter will be named after a song from said musical album.
(Excluding some songs such as: Dead girl walking, kindergarten boyfriend, and fight for me)

Chapter Text

"February 8th, 2024,

Dear diary.

I believe I'm a good person, not all the time, but the majority of it.

But here we are, the 5th anniversary of two completely different systems coming together.

The 5th year since my life changed for better and for worse.

5 years since I lost him. Emmet. It felt like yesterday the news broke out all across the systar system that they had found the rocket ship he might have used, but they never found a body. I remember feeling a mix of guilt and overwhelming sadness.

Guilt from the fact I told him to change, to toughen up, to grow up. I don't blame him for always being happy-go lucky. It's how he lived, what I'd imagine, all his life. And for me to tell him to throw that all away. What was I thinking?!

And overwhelming sadness from the fact I had lost my special best friend, the person who made my day better from just his presence, even if I didn't say it or give that type of vibe off. The person who made me smile, the person who saved the world!

The person I trusted my life with, if it came to that."

-

I finished writing my thoughts before closing my journal. I had just finished a Thursday night show/concert, and usually, my after show journal entries included stuff like how the show was and how the crowd was. General stuff like that. But today, that was all I had and wanted to say.

I then start to pack up my things and get ready to head out for the day, I usually leave the building after I know all the people at the stage door have left, while I enjoy being a pop star, it's all the fans screaming and yelling at me after shows to take pictures with them and sign stuff for them. All that was fine and sometimes fun when I was a teenage pop star, but now that I'm an adult, I find it more annoying than anything else.

After I finish up, I grab my iconic black hoodie and put it on over my blue and magenta stage outfit, its colors coordinate with my hair, except, the blue in my hair is a few shades lighter than my outfits shade of blue, but whatever, it's fine.

I open my dressing room door to see if there's anyone roaming the halls, I see no one. I then proceeded to lock the door behind me and start to make my way to the back exit that leads out of the building into a dark alleyway.

While making my way down the quiet corridor, I feel a presence behind me. It isn't until the person whose presence I could sense jumps on my shoulders, almost knocking the both of us to the ground. I stumble before looking behind me to see unikitty standing there smiling at me. I lightly smile back before speaking.

"Unikitty, you really shouldn't sneak up on people like that. We could have both fallen to the ground if I didn't catch myself." I say with a serious, but not too serious tone.

"Sorry lucy, it just seemed like the perfect opportunity!" Unikitty said while seeming trying not to burst out laughing before continuing, "We still on for movie night this Saturday?"

"Ya, and it's your week to choose a movie, so what's it going to be?" I respond.

A few months ago, we created a tradition that every Saturday night, we would hang out and watch a movie together.

"I was thinking Sleeping Beauty." She says cheerfully.

I raise an eyebrow at her, "Not to be judgmental, but we watched that movie like five times already. Don't you have it memorized by now?"

She then shrugs her shoulders, "What can I say, I'm a sucker for a happy ending." Her smile slowly losing it form. "Anyways, I should let you on your way. See you tomorrow?"

"Ya, see you tomorrow!" I answer her as she dashes the opposite direction of me, towards the front entrance, I'm guessing.

After that, I reach the back door, opening it, I embrace the coldness of the night, it doesn't make it better that It's in an alleyway, but it's fine.

As I fully step out of the doorway, I once again look at each side of the open space, again to see if anyone is there, this time. When I look, I see someone, a man leaning his back on the wall behind him, also known as the building I'm leaving.

I put my right hand in the pocket of my hoodie, grasping the pocket knife I keep in there for emergencies, just in case I need to use it tonight. I then start to approach the stranger.

(Don't do this irl)

"Excuse me? Sir? Are you ok?" I ask, earning a side eye from the man in questioning, but i get no response.

"Sir, I asked you a question and not to be pushy, but I'd very much like a verbal response." I continue, gripping the knife in my pocket tighter.

Still no response.

I start to assume that I'm going to get no response from this guy, so I start to back away and start making my way home. But something catches me off guard.

"Heh, honestly giving up after 2 attempts, you don't seem like that type of person to do that." He said, brushing hair out of his face.

I look back and pause for a minute before responding, "Who are you?"

"That is none of your concern."

"I think it very much is." I say as I take my hand with the pocket knife in it and point it at him. Not exactly in a threatening way, but in like a, "I'm not afraid to use it" kind of way.

"Put the weapon down, and no one gets hurt." He says.

"No one gets hurt, my ass." I say, veering my voice to a more of a tone I used more in Apocalypseburg, "I didn't catch your name."

"I didn't throw it." He says with a mixture of a smirk and a straight face.

"You punk." I mutter under my breath.

"You’re not wrong about that."

"Ok, now you're just pulling my leg. Stop it."

He scoffs before turning to leave the alleyway, "Whatever." He then walks away.

The only thing I can think in this moment is, "What the actual fuck, just happened?"
