The Doctor turned around and leaned back onto the console, pondering. Their eyes drifted to the spare outfit Rose left behind. She had looked through the TARDIS wardrobe after she found out there was a TARDIS wardrobe.
She picked outfits Rose would wear. Tyler, that is.
Obviously, she never knew. It could have even been the time lord-ness in her still subconsciously gravitating towards Rose Tyler. She liked wearing wolf accessories. Apparently she always has, even long before meeting the Doctor. Earings, necklaces, occasional hand bag- they were almost too subtle to notice. Almost.

Summary
Something is wrong, Ruby thinks, as she watches the Doctor back towards the TARDIS.
Ruby feels it, stronger than she ever had, filling her brain and limbs and the pit of her stomach. It’s a horrifying weightlessness. She feels hollow and useless and so, so guilty. It’s as if the Doctor had lifted everything off her, off everyone. Like he’s already endlessly sure he will carry it forever. He isn’t going to let anyone have to hold even a little of it for him.
And then, before Ruby even utters a sound, he leaves and the TARDIS is gone.
Something is wrong. Something is wrong and he is going to handle it alone. Her Doctor is going to die.
