Chapter Text
Diluc was so sure that his absolutely shit day would get better if he went and visited the Traveler’s teapot.
It always had a comforting air to it, he decided, as he pushed the large doors of the mansion, letting himself in. That was where it went wrong, Diluc would think, as he looked back on the day he, the Darknight Hero, nearly died and subsequently adopted a child.
He slipped and resorted to doing a comical reenactment of his younger years, when he had nearly fallen down the stairs, arms flailing about.
Outwardly, nothing had changed. Yet, Diluc couldn’t be too sure, as he keenly observed a shiny sheen on the floor, implying that some kind of mop had made contact with the surface of the floor. But that wasn’t possible. Today, the Traveler was out doing a commission the Adventurer’s Guild had put up, and Noelle - the only other person Diluc could imagine doing chores in the Traveler’s teapot, which invited even the most wary to drop their guards - was training for the Knight’s entrance exam. So what had been here?
It wasn’t too out of the ordinary - not really - but it is, as always, better to be safe than sorry.
So Diluc’s relaxing time in the teapot came to a close, even if it never started to begin with, and he was back to investigating.
He followed the sheen to a side room of the mansion, and found it.
On the floor, was a short, cylindrical metal(?)... thing. It had a red spot on it, and was whirring around, leaving the sheen that Diluc had observed earlier.
"What the fuck."
