Chapter 1: Part 1- The Park

Chapter Text

Izuku was sitting on a park bench licking his ice cream contently.
He had been having a good day.
First, him and his mom had gone shopping and he got a new All Might figurine. Then, for lunch he ate katsudon, his favorite. And finally, his mom gave him money to eat ice cream at the park, and allowed him to play for the rest of the afternoon.
Izuku liked watching other people, and the park was the perfect place to do that. And occasionally, a new kid who didn’t know he was Quirkless would play with him.
Once him and a girl played and they promised to play the next day too. She never came back because her parents didn’t want her to hang out with the Quirkless kid. Another time he was watching a group of boys. One saw him and looked as if he was going to come over to ask if Izuku wanted to join. Another kid saw this and ran over and whispered something in his ear. The boy who was going to come over made a disgusted look right at Izuku. Izuku pretended he hadn’t noticed.
He hated new kids because they’d only get his hopes up. They never stayed.
Izuku knew he’d finish eating then leave, he was getting quite sad watching people. It brought back those memories. Then he noticed Kacchan and his friends marching towards him. His sadness intensified and a bit of fear arouse. He didn’t get up. If he did, they’d chase him. If he continued sitting they’d bother him, but they’d get bored quicker.
Katsuki Bakugo aka ‘Kacchan’ came right up and blew the ice cream right out of Izuku Midoriya’s aka ‘Deku’ hand with an explosion. Izuku looked mortified because he hadn’t even thought of what might happen to it. Bakugo’s two “goons” laughed.
“Stupid Deku, did you think you were all high and mighty because you had an ice cream?” Bakugo asked. Izuku shook his head no. Bakugo set off an explosion close to Izuku’s shoulder. He laughed when Izuku trembled. “It was a rhetorical question, you could never be as good as me.”
“HEY!” A voice shouted, “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size?”
Bakugo swiveled around and his two friends/goons moved out of the way. “What did you say?!”
Standing 10 feet away was a boy who was older, perhaps twelve-which was five years older than them. Izuku was quite small for his age, and so was the boy who appeared. But Izuku thought highly of the boy for intervening, no matter how skinny. He was scowling. He brushed his shoulder-length, scraggly, blue hair out of his face to reveal eyes much redder than Bakugo’s. They were a blood red and quite threatening looking. The scratches above his eyes and on his neck made him look even scarier.
Bakugo saw a taller boy that he could beat in a fight.
Izuku saw a knight in shining armor.
The boy saw this as another chance to prove himself to his Sensei.
Bakugo popped off a few “warning” explosions. The boy didn’t even flinch. He just reached down, picked up a rock with four fingers, held it up in his palm to show Bakugo, and then closed his fingers over it. A few seconds later he opened his palm and there wasn’t a rock but a small pile of dust. Just dust. He had just shown off his Quirk and given his own warning.
He shook the dust off his hand.
“I can do that to people too, so I suggest you run off and stop bothering this boy.”
The two goon friends, Bakugo, and Izuku were now scared and shocked at the boy. Bakugo didn’t say a word, just frowned and walked away. His friends/goons followed, chasing after Bakugo who had a speedy pace.
“Are you going to hurt me?” Izuku asked. The boy saw the fear in his eyes. “Of course not, why would I? Why were they?” He sat next to Izuku. Izuku looked down at his lap, where he was twiddling his thumbs.
“Because I’m Quirkless.”
The boy thought about it for a second, “So?” Izuku looked up at him with a new emotion in his eyes-hope. He smiled, “Hi, I’m Midoriya, Izuku.” The boy smiled a small smile at Izuku.
“I’m Shigaraki, Tomura. It’s nice to meet you Izuku.”
