“Please allow me to date Ruggie.”
Leona stared down at the silver haired boy who bowed in front of him. Did he hear that correctly? Was this a joke?
“What did you say?”
"Please allow me to date Ruggie!"
The prince’s mouth opened to say something, but his brows furrowed and his nose scrunched up. It could’ve been mistaken for anger if he hadn’t thrown his head back and let out a laugh so loud it made Silver flinch. The laughter died down, but Silver still stood there persistent for an answer. Leona scratched the back of his neck, what was he supposed to say? A sigh slipped from his lips, he couldn't deal with this today.
"Look, Silver. I like you, but why are you asking me? Go ask him yourself on your way out.” Leona waved him off, slinking over to his bed and laying down.
Silver shook his head immediately, "Fa- Lilia says one should always get the family's approval before courting," Leona sat up, "and you are the closest to him here-"
"You have got to stop listening to that old crone. Fine, you have my blessing. Now go, get out." Leona shooed him out once more but not without noticing the growing grin on the boy's face as he left.
Should he warn Ruggie…nah, he wanted to see how this would end.
Maybe it was time for him to graduate…

Silver's head lay on Ruggie's shoulder, fast asleep without a care in the world. Two weeks had passed before Silver had gathered the courage to ask the hyena out on a date. And when he did, in Leona's presence of course, it was not the most romantic thing. He had approached Ruggie in the cafeteria and asked oh so politely for a date. Ruggie had nearly fallen out of his seat laughing. But once he realized no one else was, his face lit up like a christmas tree.
"Ah…look at those two." Malleus sighed, eyes fixed on the new couple.
"Hey. You didn't ask my brother if you could 'court' me. Did you?" Leona mumbled. Malleus blinked before turning away.
"Did you?"
"...."
"Malleus!"
