Work Text:
Sam was never really a relationship guy, which always seemed to confuse everyone around him because he'd always been pretty attractive.
After he came out as trans, he always wrote it off to his friends as just not finding someone who accepted him for that but even that excuse became faulty after a while because of how close he got with Hero.
He liked Hero, he really did. And he knew that she liked him as well.
He wondered if the feelings he had for her were romantic. He wondered if the spark he felt was the same spark that all of the poets and the songwriters and the artists made art about.
But, he wasn't so sure.
After the event, they kissed, and he immediately panicked because a part of him felt so wrong for it.
This was his best friend and, as much as he loved her, he couldn't bear the idea of that changing because that didn't feel good to him.
God, why am I like this?
