Kessoku Band cancel document

Summary:

ABSTRACT

Since the rise of Kessoku Band’s popularity amongst queer people, multiple allegations towards the members’ sexuality and relationships came into light. Due to the members’ refusal to address such allegations, conspiracies were raised with regards to queerbaiting. Detailed transcripts of the members’ interactions throughout the years provide significant evidence that is then reviewed to support or refute the relationship allegations between Nijika Ijichi and Yamada Ryo (i.e. NijiRyo), as well as Gotou “Bocchi” Hitori and Kita Ikuyo (i.e. Bokita). Results show that there is a significant pattern of “homosexual tendencies” between the aforementioned relationships. Each member had surpassed the zero (0) score of the Kinsley scale are as follows: Kita (6 - exclusively queer), Ijichi (5 - predominantly queer), Gotou (4 - pretty queer), and Yamada (3 - queer-y but not in a way we’re looking for). Therefore, there is now a higher probability that the members’ interactions are not purely for show. However, if it is, then ethical concerns towards the band’s branding should be addressed.

Keywords: Kessoku Band, NijiRyo, Bokita, Queerbaiting, Kinsley scale

Notes:

Meta disclaimer: Everything is fiction, nothing is real. No questionnaire can actually objectively measure a person’s sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression (SOGIE) because there are too many variables. This was made for pure satire.

Chapter Text

INTRODUCTION

Since the debut of Kessoku Band back in 2023, members Ijichi Nijika, Yamada Ryo, Kita Ikuyo, and Gotou “Bocchi” Hitori have seen a rise in popularity[1] . More prominently, its fan base had grown to become one of the more iconic queer-associated music bands in Japan. However, due to the members’ refusal to address allegations towards their sexuality and relationships, some people have grown impatient enough to call their “homosexual tendencies” as a “ruse to gain popularity” (i.e. Queerbaiting). This is regardless of the fact that most, if not all, are merely speculative and are not objectively a fault towards its members.

Numerous fans dedicated towards documenting such interactions have since written and filed reports amassing up to 15,423 pages on the domain [kessoku-band.fandom.co.jp] as of March 2031. Whether it be from (1) interviews, (2) TV specials, (3) live streaming, or (4) on-stage presence, the transcriptions are public and ready for viewing. It then allows liberty for the fans of Kessoku Band to pore over and analyze every detail in order to support the claim on whether there is truly homosexual activity amongst the musicians.

Though there are multiple allegations between each members (Fig. 1), the more prominent speculation among the fans are the relations between Ijichi and Yamada (i.e. NijiRyo), and Gotou and Kita (i.e. BoKita).

Figure 1. Kessoku Band relationship square. The relationship square had been one of the more predominant diagrams depicting each band member on each corner of the square (From top left moving clockwise: Ijichi, Gotou, Kita, Yamada). Broken lines connect the members diagonally, thin lines connect the members horizontally, and thick lines connect the members vertically. The focus of this study will only feature the vertical lines.

Thus, the cancel document aims to address the “homosexual tendencies” between prominent members of Kessoku Band, specifically:

  1. between Ijichi Nijika and Yamada Ryo, and;
  2. between Kita Ikuyo and Gotou “Bocchi” Hitori.

Notes:

[1] According to the Social Raid statistics, the band had a follower increase rate of 234% around March to April, during their first televised concert, and 1089% around December (2023) to January (2024) after the Japan Record Association awards. Viewership on the band’s Isoseta and OhTube had been relatively similar. Though individual members have seen varying rates, the official social media accounts still had a similar rate ratio.

ABOUT THE RESEARCHER

Hello, I’m Svenn and welcome to my shit ass fic! I had always wanted to make a research paper format unfiction, and I thought making one for BTR would be hilarious. I love these girls, they’re amazing and I’ve learned a whole lot from simply the Introduction part of the work. I hope you’ll give this a chance, I’m an incredibly slow writer but I hope to finish this to the best of my abilities.
