Finishing the last fold, Suzume Minami smiled, setting a paper crane on the table in front of her. A wave alerted her to the presence of her father, smiling and pointing towards the door. “Someone’s here to see you.” Nodding, she sat up, smoothed out her clothes, and went to meet her visitor.
She found outside Logan Auliffe, her hair done up nice and wearing a fancy dress. Suzume couldn’t remember the last time she had seen Logan dress up, but despite how off it looked on her well-built frame Suzume couldn’t help but smile. She signed, “Hi Logan.”
Logan signed back. “Hey. Adama told me you weren’t gonna go tonight?”
Suzume shook her head.
“Well, I was hoping I could change your mind.”
“I’m not really much of a dancer.” As if to emphasize, she pointed to her ear.
Logan shook her head. “Then don’t. There will be food and friends, and we’d really love for you to be there. You’ve been so busy lately, you should get a chance to have fun.”
Suzume sighed. She had been doing a lot of work lately running Team Rescue, and Logan knew, but she still shook her head.
“I don’t have anything to wear.”
Logan smiled and shook her head. “I know that’s not true. You’ve got a ton of outfits in there, and worst comes to worst you can just transform. Your outfit looks fancy enough.”
Smiling, Suzume signed, “Not yours, though.”
“Well, I did have more than a day to plan ahead.” Suzume hesitated for a moment, and Logan took another opportunity to lay down her offer. “Look, if it’s too much you don’t have to, but it really wouldn’t be the same without you.”
Their eyes met, and Suzume nodded, then turned a bit red. “I don’t have a ticket.”
Logan grinned, holding out a pair. “You didn’t think I came here unprepared, did you?”
