Backstory: Hawks is Izuku’s adoptive dad after they got out of the underground HPSC labs years ago. The take down of the biggest secret crime syndicate has changed laws for the better and removed the monopoly the Commission had.
Izuku is still classed as quirkless but only Hawks, Nedzu, and Izuku’s therapist know the truth. He has a quirk called Savepoint, he can go back to the morning of his death and change the outcome.
Only Izuku fully remembers the past timeline but can give the memories of his POV at will to someone he touches (the HPSC didn’t know this part). Most people get deja vu about the day but the HPSC found killing Izuku within an hour of the day starting would let them remember more for their tests.
The HPSC had killed Izuku’s mom, Inko, after his quirk manifested at age 6 and he told the cops about a water villain attacking a bridge, they stopped it and no one died. They had Izuku for a year before Hawks was back from a mission and they ran into each other. Izuku manages to hug Hawks leg and, in seconds, send the memories of the last timeline where the HPSC used Hawks to kill him.
Hawks speeds up his plan of taking down the HPSC because of this and gets Izuku out of there so he doesn’t have to die again. With no living relative Izuku would have gone to foster care but Hawks takes him instead, Izuku clings to him after the rescue despite Hawks killing him before because he was the first kind person in a year and didn’t want to kill him.
Quirk abilities: Savepoint
Pros:
- Revert time back to that morning
- Send the memories in Izuku’s POV by touch
- Touched person will also fully remember past timeline over time
- Deja vu for everyone else but no bad side effects
Cons:
- Izuku MUST be at the point of death and move past it or the timeline goes unstable and he dies again from time being ripped apart.
- Scars from his last death remain. If he drowned he wakes up with water in his mouth.
If he dies multiple times from the same thing he loses energy and goes numb until something changes to finally break the loop. (Longest loop was at the HPSC, Izuku has a fear of bodies of water now and tubs of water)
