Xiao fell to his knees, clutching her to his chest. How his superiors found this experience enjoyable was beyond him. Or maybe, he wasn’t supposed to fall in love with his prey. Stay within the bloodlines.
He knew that there was a time limit. There were two options. Leave her in the alleyway, and run, until she were to come back as a husk. Or, he could feed her his blood, forcing her to be locked to him forever. But… she’d have autonomy, a clear brain, a life still to lead. And… maybe he could be selfish, and take more of her time. Not just walking her home.
The choice was already decided from the moment he pinned her against the wall. Through the tears in his eyes, he clamped onto his own hand, pooling as much of his own blood into his mouth. Then, he grabbed her, and kissed her, feeding the potion that she needed to still live.
