   With that, Herb left the room, leaving Velvet to stand, dumbfounded at his own sickening thoughts. This was three times now, three times lusting after a taken man who was far, far too good for him. He grumbled, picking whatever random clothing he saw in the closet before slowly walking out of his room and into the hall.
   Licorice was sitting at the table, eating a snack, something so odd as to cause Velvet to halt in his tracks. Licorice noticed him after a moment, jumping up to his feet to run over and embrace him in a hug.
   “I’ve wanted to do that since you got here, but Herb insisted I couldn’t. What’s got you up and about?” Licorice’s grin made Velvet’s heart flutter, and he paused.
