    The Barrier Islands. A chain of artificial islands down the eastern seaboard of the Eagle Union, designed as an early-warning system against the Sirens. That was their purpose, up until Island 13 was overtaken by a sudden Mirror Sea - necessitating the involvement of Ship-Girls.
