Hello, I'm Rav Nye, and today we're gonna see what happens when you put two different flavours of homosexuals in the same space.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Soulmates.

A concept Harry had dwelled on for quite a few decades.

He never understood it, though. Then again, he'd only ever dated once in his life, and it didn't end well. At some point in his life he couldn't remember, he gave up on love altogether. He didn't have many friends, either. All he had was his dog, Lucas, and his writing. And that's all he needed.

Well, until a new coffee shop opened up downtown.

This is the story of a recluse named Harry, and how he managed to fall in love for the first time in his life. Though, it doesn't work out how you would expect.

Chapter 2: A good morning is good enough, eh?

Summary:

I project my crippling social anxiety onto an old man. Thats it. Thats the chapter. Also theres a cute dog ig

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Bee–

Click.

Harry groaned, a headache already forming when he remembered he actually existed and had to do things a normal human being would, but also because of his alarm. He kept telling himself he'd find a less annoying clock, but he never got to it.

He sat up, rubbing his eyes as he threw the blanket off of him, grabbing his glasses from the side table, and prepared to get ready for the day.

He didn't actually need to wake up so early, since he worked on his own time as a writer, but he liked to keep a stable routine anyways.

As he opened the bedroom door, Harry was immediately greeted by his best (and only) friend, who had almost knocked him over from the golden retriever jumping up in excitement.

"Good morning, Lucas! Who's a good boy?" He knelt down to pet his furry friend, the existential dread and grogginess washing away. Mostly. "You want to come work with me today?" He smiled as Lucas barked in response, obviously not understanding the question, but still excited nonetheless.

As he strolled down the sidewalk, watching as Lucas yapped at other dogs passing by, Harry noticed something new from across the street.

It was a coffee shop. There had been another building in the same place that was in the process of being rebuilt, but he never noticed how far along it was getting, since he usually went to a different place, or only went out to get groceries. Bottom line is, he didn't get out much, and he was often hesitant to enter new places.

Though, something drew Harry to it. It was decently sized, definitely smaller than his usual spot, but it didn't look too cramped, he supposed. The fresh wood was an eggshell white complimented with soft pink and gold accents, which was surprisingly pleasing to the eye. There were flowerbeds surrounding the place, just under the windows, filled with what looked like daffodils and tulips. A sign was placed above the doors, simply reading 'Honeysuckle Hour'. Harry snickered, amused by the obvious flower theme. He figured the owner just really loved plants.

An unusual feeling of curiosity taking over him, Harry crossed the street, taking in a deep breath and attempting to push down his rising anxiety before he slowly opened the doors.
