Work Text:
A lot of heroes showed up for Tommy's grocery shopping. It's incredibly inconvenient. He can already imagine how much hand scrubbing it will take to get all the blood out. Oh and how his favorite shop went up in flames from.. well the hero Flame. Unoriginal if you ask him but he doesn't truly deserve the right to judge, he didn't even pick a name out. Last Tubbo said they were calling him Bringer something something death and light something. Listen Tommy has no interest in Tubbo's rants about his internet fame. Sure he'll sit and listen to his roommate talk about it for hours but actually absorbing it? Asking a bit much if you ask him.
Not that anyone bothers to ask what he's doing. Heroes included, they might all still be alive if they left Tommy to his shopping but nope!
"Now this is just pathetic." Tommy rolls his eyes looking down at the bleeding heroes littering the rooftop he's chosen for today's stunt. "All that fighting and I don't even have a scratch, how disappointing. Have you lot been getting weaker? I haven't killed of all your best yet have I? Shit I knew I shouldn't have destroyed you lots weird labs." Tommy scrunches his nose, his eyes narrowing with the motion. "Bloody hell that's just so fucking shit, I mean c-" Tommy's cut off by his phone ringing, the cheery music cutting through the thick tension in the air from his musings. He frowns sliding it out of his pocket to breifly glance at the screen. Martan State Prison? "Martan. Martan, which fucking one was that? Ah shit." He grumbles and glances up from his phone to the confused heroes. "Sorry one second." He mutters answering it and putting the phone to his ear.
He pays no mind to the incredulous looks thrown his way by various heroes, new reporters, and witnesses. It's Wilbur and Tommy's already smiling.
"Hello?" He asks settling down on the roof cross legged to be more comfortable.
"Hey Tommy I'm gonna need a rain check for tomorrow."
Tommy's power surges crackling against the rooftop.
It pulls hoarse screams from some and groans from those who's voices have already been scrubbed raw by the fight. "Aw how come? We've been planning the heist celebration for a week now. I've already set up my flat." He whines, rather childishly at just a change in plans but he deserves to be upset right now after making it all perfect. Tommy's been stocking up on all their favorite movies so they can get drunk and cry over How to train your dragon and Up. It's important that Wilbur is there for his own celebration.
"Yeah I'm in jail, uh so..."
Tommy raises an eyebrow to himself tapping his thumb against each of his fingers in an anxious tick. "You can't just sit in jail! We have plans." He insists snatching Thunder Hawk's throat and pinning him so the hero's little legs kick about pathetically against the concrete. Their fault for trying to interrupt his phone call. He was perfectly happy to let them run away tails tucked behind their legs. Tommy is an attentive listener and some mutt isn't stopping him from his call.
Tommy hears Wilbur sigh over the line, obviously dejected which just won't do. "Yeah I know but I'm like, in jail." Tommy scrunches his face making his irritation very clear to everyone. (Wilbur can almost see it from the prison, the guard to his right tapping his foot in a nervous twitch.)
"Just leave, nothings stopping you." Tommy mutters shrugging. He scowls downward as the squirming hero claws at his arm in attempt to free himself. He glares at the whining bitch then jerks his head snapping the heroes neck in one go, screams erupt from the on-lookers.
(Wilbur looks side to side lips pursed as he ducks down in his booth further. "There's like a lot of things stopping me actually.")
Tommy raises his brows high, squinting as he bites the inside of his cheek with thought. "What could possibly be getting in your way right now?" Tommy asks. He curses throwing the hero off the roof somewhere unknown. A car alarm starts up but Tommy's focused on Wilbur's reply. "Uh iron bars, walls, guns, many things designed to keep me here." The brunette says incredulously. Tommy groans throwing his head back before straightening. "Since when are any of those things an obstacle?"
"Since forever." Wilbur snarks back and Tommy grins a bit before his annoyance returns in the form of a different hero trying to tackle him. Tommy sighs, then stands up to deal with this idiot. Tommy grips the other's suit by the collar and flings them off to the side, he mimes gagging to a nearby news camera. That clip is going to be viral when this airs. "Dude come on and stop messing with me just get up and leave. It's not that hard." The blonde shoots back and snaps his fingers setting someone on fire in his peripheral vision. "You know your experiences aren't universal right?" Wilbur says moodily. Tommy pauses clicking his tongue. "Oh right." He mutters relaxing his features. "Want me to come and get you?" He offers more kindly. (Wilbur shrugs to himself.)
"I mean you don't have too, I know you're always busy but if you could find the time I'd appreciate it."
Tommy snorts at the ridiculousness of the statement. Wilbur, thinking Tommy wouldn't burn down the world if he wanted the blonde too, how silly. "I always have time for you Wil, now let me guess you're in regular minimum? Or did you finally get sent to the one where they shrink you?" Wilbur huffs something Tommy can't make out through the gritty prison microphone. "Wil?" He says smile fading when silence greets him for a few too many seconds. "Sorry Tommy I'm only allowed a few minutes at a time so I've gotta go." The blonde scowls at the interruption of their lovely call and snaps his fingers teleporting himself to Wilbur instantly.
The brunette startles at the sudden presence dropping the prison phone to the desk as the one guard immediately smacks a button on the wall before backing himself into a corner to look at small as possible in defense of himself. Tommy grins up at his brother but Wilbur grimaces back. "Not that I'm not incredibly happy to see you Tommy and I don't want to rush you, but we should probably leave, like right now. The whole prisons going to shut down." The blonde rolls his eyes at his brother, still being silly.
"Oh don't worry about that nonsense Wilbur. Let's get back to mine and have super. I was just in the middle of fighting a couple dogs when you called so I've nothing important to get back too."
(Watching the news later reveals Tommy wasn't quite fighting dogs but trying to have him refer to heroes as people would be it's own miracle.)
