Luigi could only barley just process the way Mario's hands were tenderly touching his face and shoulder, nor the way their forehead and noses pressed together, as he was too busy grabbing the man himself, getting lost in the urge to hold his brother as close as he could. Heart drumming in his chest like mad, his fingers tangled into the fur of Mario's suit, breath heavy and eyes lidded.
Luigi took in a sharp inhale.
He's back.
He's back.
He's back.
With those two words continuing to frantically repeat in his mind, he swooped forward on instinct, desperately smashing his lips onto his brother's, teeth clacking together harshly on contact. Luigi heard Mario let out a small noise of surprise and under his hands felt his body stiffen, causing Luigi's heart to drop, immediately trying to pull himself away from his elder brother. However, Mario was then the one who grappled his shoulders steady, deepening their kiss with such tenderness and softness that it made Luigi's heart just crank up all over again.
With Mario by his side, he knows he'll be okay even while chaos is unfolding around them, and he'll make sure to never lose his brother ever again.
