Work Text:
I know next to nothing about navigation or aviation but I am a Captain. The proud captain of a ship so potent they put everybody else to shame.
My name is Looknam Orntara Poolsak, don’t worry you don’t have to remember that long ass name, you probably already know me by just Nam, I’m famously and affectionately referred to as P’Nam/N’Nam/Captain Nam – choose your poison.
I’m going to tell you exactly why my ship is number one, I mean popularity isn’t all there is to it but it sure is telling.
Anyhow, sit back, relax, and keep any differing opinions you may have to yourself. If my precious FreenBecky, who I’ve shed blood, sweat, and tears for is not number one for you please follow the exit signs and go find different reading material. I understand good taste mostly cannot be developed overnight unless you’re just born classy, take myself for example *ehem
You cannot fathom the perils I’ve had to endure for this ship to sail. In the Kingdom of Thailand from whence I hail, BL is the staple! I’ve had to fight off hordes of fujoshis and knock them around a little before telling them of the good news that is FreenBecky. I can happily report that I've mostly successfully recruited even from their ranks.
The good thing out of that equation is that I had charming champions – one, Sarocha Freen Chankimha, a goofball who’s as sexy and adorable as she is kindhearted and mature. And two, Rebecca Patricia Becky Armstrong, cute as a baby with the heart of a warrior and the most determined person I personally know. I can go on and on but trust me you have to see for yourself on this one – Tiktok, Twitter, and Youtube have resources for your perusal, although be warned, I heard FreenBecky can have detrimental effects on your sleep. While you’re at it watch GAP the series if you haven’t already, if you have, just watch again and pretend this time you did it because I said so, as if you haven’t re-watched a bunch of times already *side-eye
I had donned lots of character hats for this endeavor. I have been the annoying shipper, the ship captain, the big sister, the stout defender, the unwitting chaperone, the disgusted third wheel (very necessary role, the comedic value alone gained me about 200 IG followers *data is sketchy but trust me), the supportive colleague, and the number one candidate for maid of honor. I feel like they’re Arthur and Merlin and I am the knights while also being the roundtable.
FreenBecky is a successful ship because it’s genuine, of course, there is fanservice but some people are acting like that is a bad word, what’s up with that? You’re all acting like real couples in the same line of work don’t do fanservice, besides, I like fanservice! Justice for fanservice! They do fanservice yes but that's not the whole draw, there are many draws, although the moments I love the most are those when even among other people, the fans, or an audience they can’t help but retreat into their little cocoon for two, total population: Freen and Becky – those soft glances, tension so thick you can almost touch it. I look at them when they’re like that and I have no doubt what I see is love. And I have a 20/20 vision!
Their consistency with each other is so damn impressive as well, they can be role models even for actual married couples. And people would probably say “Yes very consistent, especially Freen.” I’m telling you there’s no especially about it, Becky is as consistent, observe harder - heed this instruction from your captain.
That moon phase thing when I first saw it I was mind blown but also it felt like a confirmation of what I already know, that they’re perfect for each other. Even their rough edges must fit. They’re imperfect, of course they are, it’s human nature but they’re sincerely good kids, which is why I can’t understand toxic behavior towards them, scratch that, I actually understand – nothing deep about it, I guess being fucking shitty is human nature too. These people are really hurtful too, behaving like they’re being paid money to hurt my friends, good thing the kids are insightful people – they stumble once in a while and I hurt seeing them struggling but for the most part, they’re strong, especially for each other and it’s inspiring to see. They’ve grown a lot since we all first met, and I’m excited to see how they’ll be over the years.
Still, happy to report to all my fellow shippers – the good trumps the shitty, heck we’ve been consistently well-fed for months! I was a little surprised at how fast the community grew, we had to upgrade nonstop, the ship got bigger and bigger, and we even have an airplane and a rocket added to our fleet now. I guess it can’t be helped with an extremely dedicated captain like me at the helm, one who’s naturally gifted and extraordinarily attractive to boot.
I’m so smart I’ve been actively recruiting people to the officer ranks. Can’t be compared to me but they’re not too shabby. We have Richie my resourceful number 2, mami Heng (I was surprised at this at first but it fits), and P’Seoul, who has been an entertaining addition, and very useful. I didn’t tell them they’re officers, it’s unsalaried anyway – as long as they function, besides, you don’t have to fire if you don’t hire *criminal side-eye
The point of all this is to pat my own back for a job well done, I am my self’s harshest critic, and today I declare I pass with flying colors. Anyway, you’re all welcome. For what? For everything of course.
Also, I'm here to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of all the good fans out there. Stay away from toxic people, you can't beat them because their battle is internal. And definitely do not join them! We must preserve our ranks!
To my babies, Freen and Becky you girls continue to be P'Nam's precious angels, okay ka. Love each other always, and take care of yourself and one another. Ignore the shitty people. And most of all, whenever you sulk at one another always make sure to make up cutely *ehehehehe
This has been P'Nam, the world's best captain. Byeeeee~
