Chapter Text
The familiar sound of yelling filled the room. Lando looked back as Alex closed the door trying to mute the yelling as best he could.
Alex had tried to protect them from the fighting; he didn't want them to be hurt by it, not like how he was.
“What do you think they're fighting about this time?” Lando asked.
“Us” George said, looking down at his feet.
Their parents had talked about the divorce and it had almost always ended up with fighting. Custody was really the main cause, their dad wanted to split the kids up, it had been something their mom had never wanted to do.
Alex sat down by George pulling him into a hug. They didn’t want to split up, they needed each other.
Lando picked at his nails, he hated the fighting. He didn’t understand it, why did people have to fight?
The sound of breaking glass interrupted his thoughts.
Lando saw the look of fear grow on Alex’s face before he ran out the door.
Lando followed him, he started to hear the crying of his mother, but no, his dad would never go this far, how could he hurt her.
The anger began to rise in Lando as he saw what was happening.
“STOP” yelled Alex as he tried to push his dad away, only to end up on the floor holding his cheek.
George ran over to his mother helping move her away from their father who had stepped away a bit.
Lando was frozen in anger or maybe it was fear he wasn’t even quite sure.
His mother had gotten up grabbing George and Alex and walking them to the door. Lando had followed until he felt a hand grab his shoulder not allowing him to move. His mom turned around to see the situation. It had seemed like a thousand thoughts consumed her mind before continuing to usher Alex and George out of the house.
She knew at that point she wouldn’t get them all out, but there were almost there she had Alex and George out. She thought about what was best for them. She could get two of them out, they would be safe. She looked back at Lando, her baby, she saw how he was kicking, screaming, fighting to get away. A feeling of guilt filled her as she continued out the door forcing Alex and George along.
She sobbed driving away
She sobbed at the guilt
At the pain
At the cries of her children
She sobbed mourning the loss of her youngest, her baby.

Lando tried to get away, tried forcing him out of the grip of his father.
His father threw Lando to the floor once he heard the car drive away cursing to himself as he walked away.
Lando ran out the door chasing after the car.
“STOP” he yelled, praying that maybe she could hear him.
“stop” he cried, falling to the ground.
He sobbed, praying they would come back. They had to, they couldn’t leave him here, why would they leave him. He needed them, they would come back, they have to.
Lando would come to realize they weren’t coming back for him.
Lando hated them
He swore to himself that he would never forgive them.
