Chapter Text
Sam never imagined this day could come and was absolutely positive that this had to be breaking some form of law considering the crimes her father committed. Either way, a month ago she was notified that her father, Billy Loomis, would be getting out of jail on parole. Danny, her fiancé, asked what she’d like to do about the situation and eventually they agreed that moving back to Woodsboro was the best option.
They both had to find jobs there if they did head back to Woodsboro, for Sam and Danny that wasn’t difficult however.
Sam had finally gone to college and got a degree in English Communications and Journalism so she could be an author. Horror being her main genre that she wrote for, she already had a few best sellers. From Vampire Dirt to The Dying Crow, she had become rather successful. Many publishers wanted to be the ones to buy her books.
As for Danny, he worked in business management, and got extremely luck for the fact that his company owned a building in Woodsboro. Also that they were willing to transfer him there for full-time, apparently their organization in Woodsboro needed helo picking up some slack.
Uprooting them from the only place their daughter knew though was a little worrying however. Billie had been born and raised in New York for 13 years of her life. They knew living in California would be a big adjustment, and that she won’t like saying goodbye to her friends.
Billie was less than thrilled, she didn’t want to say goodbye to the city that had been her home for her while existence. She didn’t put up much of a fight since she knew that this wasn’t the worse thing that could happen however. What the three of them didn’t was Tara, Chad, and Mindy all showing up a week before leaving to their new condo, asking if they had room for three more.
Which lead then to now, all six of them on a train on the way to back to Woodsboro. None of them could say they were disappointed that they were going back, they all grew up in Woodsboro and absolutely loved it there. It was a shame when they decided the safest option for them was to leave their hometown.
They were back now though, and that’s what mattered to them, that they were finally home. Well, most of them Danny and Billie had never lived in Woodsboro but were definitely all for it. Sam would be eternally grateful that her family agreed to this so easily, she felt horrible having to uproot them again.
She was jerked from her thoughts when the train pulled into the station. They all got up and grabbed their luggage from the upper storage containers above them. It wasn’t much as most of their things were already at their stupidly large apartment, the movers probably beat them to Woodsboro after all.
It was a pain, waiting for their two cars to be unloaded from the platform. Once they were, Sam and Tara raced for the driver seat of their cars respectively. Leaving the others to have to sit in the passenger seat or in the back. The drive to the prison wasn’t awkward or quiet. In fact everyone was excited at a new chance in Woodsboro, Sam especially.
No more long drivers and or flights to see her father for her, all she had to do was go into the next room and he’d be there. Billie was excited as well, she loved every opportunity to see her grandfather that she could get. She knew that the others were excited as well, they all had built rather decent relationship with him. (Mindy and Billy loved to be assholes and bullshit everyone else a lot).
When they got to the prison they all walked to the front door and stepped in, and there he was. Billy was sitting in a small chair that leaned against Max’s desk. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans with a brown leather jacket with faux fur inside. He was bouncing his leg and was seemingly chewing on his cheek, two of his nervous habits.
Sam walked through the metal detector, followed quickly by the others. Billy looked up gave them all a small smile but it was strained and nervous. She supposed she’d be nervous to if you was being released back into society after 40 years in prison.
”Alright!” Max started, looking down at a paper in his hands “Few things you all gotta know. One, Mr.Loomis cannot interact with his victims, aka Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers. Two, Mr.Loomis cannot leave the state, which you already knew. Three, Mr.Loomis must maintain a resident, which you already have covered, considering your crimes you are excused for having to maintain an occupation.”
“Joy” Billy deadpanned
Max raised an eyebrow before continuing “Four, Mr.Loomis must refrain from drug or alcohol use, unless a drug is prescribed by a doctor. Alright that’s it, I already went through everything else with you Mr.Loomis, you are good to go when you’re ready.”
Max sighed and slapped the paper in his hands down on his desk as hard as he could. Clearly he hated giving that little speech as much as they hated listening to it.
“Oh, and this probably goes without saying, but no committing crimes of any kind or It’s straight back to prison” Max added
Billy just stood and gave him a tired look before nodding his head, then motioning for Sam to lead the way. When they stepped out the doors it took the rest of them to realize that Billy wasn’t following them, hell it was actually Billie who realized first.
“Pop?” Billie called, finally getting the attention of everyone else in the parking lot
Billy wasn’t looking at them however, instead he was looking at the sky, admiring how it was turning bright shades of orange, pink, purple, and blue as the sun set. Sam walked over to him and stood next to him, bumping into his side a little to try and grab his attention.
”Hey” Sam called “You okay?”
“I haven’t seen a sunset in a long time” Billy muttered “Never appreciated them as a kid either.”
Everyone winced, they didn’t even think about that, being locked up for so long that you find being able to see a sunset a privilege. Billy had been locked up for almost four decades, who knew what else he’d find luxurious now, being able to have his own bedroom? The sad part was the answer was probably yes.
“C’mon” Mindy calles “Before some dumbass new station shows up because they got tipped off that Billy Loomis was being released on parole.”
Everyone nodded and started walking back to the cars, Billy finally shaking himself out of this stupor. He ended up in the passenger seat next to Sam in one of the cars, with Chad, and Tara in the back. Mindy, Billie, and Danny took the other car and followed close behind them when they’d started driving.
No one said anything on the drive to their new (rather large) apartment. Chad was falling asleep in the back seat, Tara had earbuds in and was listening to her music while using Chad’s shoulder as a pillow. Sam was obviously focused on driving and Billy…he was just soaking in what he could see from his car window. Like the next morning he wouldn’t get the chance to.
”We’re here” Sam spoke, only breaking the silence when they reached their destination
Billy looked out the windshield, Chad and Tara leaning forward so they could get a better look as well. The apartment complex was…rather nice actually. Well-kept looking and even from the outside you could see where each apartment started, and from the looks of it, all of them were huge.
Slowly they all got out of them car, Danny, Mindy, and Billie parking their own car and followed suit. They all stood their for a moment just admiring the building before Sam broke the silence again by clapping her hands.
”Yelp!” Sam started, walking in front of all of them and whipping around to face them “Welcome home everyone!”
