The bright lights and loud noises of Kamurocho don’t bother Nishiki, but when Kiryu starts to fiddle with the cuffs of his blazer, Nishiki realizes that things are overwhelming his boyfriend. Nishiki knows that fidgeting helps Kiryu stay calm when stressed like this, and he also happens to own Kiryu’s favorite item to fidget with.
“Here, kyoudai,” Nishiki says, offering Kiryu his lighter.
Nodding, Kiryu takes it, rubbing his thumb across the smooth metal. He flicks it on, watching the flame dance. And Kiryu doesn’t speak, but from the way his shoulders relax, Nishiki knows Kiryu feels a little better.
