Work Text:
He’d learnt the piano young
His only way to really have fun
Reading books like other kids
Wasn’t exactly an option thanks to his
Disability
But music was something different
Notes that he could read
Not that he used them much
Instead just sitting down and letting his fingers lead
By now it was muscle memory
Later when he was shunned to the streets
No piano in sight to keep him busy
He turned to chemicals and as the two meet
It’s back to muscle memory
The two things he doesn’t need
To be able to read
To do
And those things he does so often
It’s now muscle memory
When he meets the Crows
A new thing becomes muscle memory
And now there are three things
Playing his piano
Experimenting with his chemicals
And holding Jesper close
Cupping his hand on his partner’s cheek
Holding his partner’s hand
Done so often
It’s now muscle memory
Engraved in his mind
Able to read or not
Doesn’t matter
It doesn’t stop him anymore
