Chapter Text
You know that feeling in your stomach, where it twists and turns. Butterflies in your stomach some may call it. Other's describe it as their stomach being tied up in knots.
But to Stan Marsh, this could only mean one thing.
His day started off normal. He went to school, goofed off in class, went to lunch, played during recess, threw jokes around with his friends, and then went home.
It all started to go wrong when his super best friend, Kyle, invited him over to his house.
He got there and Kyle threw open the door and welcomed him in. They went upstairs to hang out in Kyle's room.
"Dude, I got this sick new game. You're the first I wanted to show it too."
"What's the name of it??"
They sat down on the floor and started to chat about it.
Kyle interrupts their conversation by saying, "It's so hot in here."
"Yea you're right, do you have the heater on?"
"Of course we do, we'd freeze to death otherwise! But I think my mom put it too high."
Kyle reached for his hat and takes it off.
Stan couldn't do anything but stare. It would be very rare occasions that he'd see Kyle's hair. He always refuses to take his hat off, stating he feels more comfortable with it on.
But Stan watched as Kyle's ginger curls fell to the sides. He had nice hair, Stan thought.
Stan was probably staring for a good 10 seconds before he heard- "Hello? Earth to Stan- Earth to- Oh hey"
"Sorry, spaced out."
Stan took his hat off as well and set it aside. They went back to gaming.
But now every few seconds, Stan would look over at his best friend.
He just couldn't get over how good he looked. Stan started to notice new and new things about Kyle. How beautifully his hair shaped his face, how his eyes seemed to sparkle, the little smile he gave every time he won.
He also began to realize how lucky he was to have him as a friend.
He was so kind and gentle when they hanged out together, without anyone else. He was funny, sweet, charming, and just made him feel like it was them against the world.
That's the moment things changed for Stan. He felt nauseous.
"Uhh, I'll be right back!" He yelled at Kyle as he sprinted to the bathroom.
There, he hovered over the toilet and threw up.
Stan knew what this meant.
"No, no no no, this can't be real." He murmured to himself.
He heard a knock at the door.-
He didn't know how long he was in the bathroom for, that it led to a knock.
"Hey dude, are you alright in there?" He heard Kyle's voice on the other side.
"YEA! IM ALRIGHT DONT WORRY" Stan shouted back,
He got cleaned up and exited the bathroom. Though, his stomach was still turning.
There was Kyle waiting for him.
"Hey man, I think I'm going to head home. I have homework and stuff, you know." Stan managed to get out.
"Alright cool, was fun hanging out with you. See ya tomorrow!" Kyle replied.
Stan left his house and started to run home, but not before he heard-
"STAN WAIT! YOU FORGOT YOUR-"
That's as much as he heard, he was too far away now and he didn't want to turn back and face Kyle.
He made it home and plopped down on his bed.
He couldn't deny the facts anymore.
He was in love with his best friend.
