Mikhael “The Maverick” Forni was in love for the 27th time this month, he was in love with a quiet, exquisite boy. Sunny Suzuki, he was the prettiest boy in Faraway Town. Whenever is spoke, Mikhael could feel a rush of dopamine flood through his veins. He was beautiful his pitch-black eyes made Mikhael’s heart rush, when the wind blew through his unruly black hair, it made Mikhael’s breath stop. He was brilliant, he didn’t even need to talk for Mikhael to know what he meant. ‘Sunny Forni’, or ‘Mikhael Suzuki’ he would scribble in his notes during class. The boy couldn’t seem to leave his mind, he tugged on the plastic ends of his blonde wig. Thinking about the other and how perfect he was. He saw the other boy running around with Kel, Mikhael couldn’t fathom the reason why someone as perfect as Sunny would hang around a dweeb like Kel. He leaned on his sliver scooter, watching mindlessly the park visitors. Watching the black-haired boy with admiration, a droopy smile slowly spread on his face.
Sunny was confused. The Makrick, aka Mikhael, seemed to confuse him. For some strange reason, he thought that the other boy was… Kinda cute? He just couldn’t explain it, he couldn’t explain it to Mari, Basil, or anyone. He thought that the biggest loser in the neighborhood was cute. He often laid in bed thinking about what happened in his life to mess him up this bad, he liked Mikhael. He adored his lame flirts and his idiotic ways of trying to become popular. Mikhael was an idiot, but maybe that was just Sunny’s type he didn’t know. He curled up in bed with his blanket, his once pale face was now a burning bright red. He mumbled an incoherent string of words, kicking his feet in the air. He couldn’t believe he acting like some teenage girl with a crush, yet he couldn’t care less. He sighed happily at the scenarios in his head about Mikhael. Him and Mikhael swinging together, Mikhael handing him a bouquet of flowers, him and Mikhael on a movie date, Mikhael leaning in and….KISSING HIM. He fell off the bed after that particular one, making a loud thumping noise that could be heard downstairs. He could hear his older sister rushing up the stairs, she busted the door down prepared to be faced with her darling little brother tearing up from the fall. Yet, she was greeted by her younger brother with flushed cheeks and a large smile planted on his face.
“Sunny are you okay?” She rushed by his side. Helping him to sit upright.
“I'm fine, Mari,” Sunny said, trying to calm his sister’s worries.
“Are you sure, you fell pretty hard.” She frowned, checking her brother’s head for injuries.
“No, I am fine just thinking..”
Suddenly, Mari put everything together. Her brother’s flushed smiling face, his loud giggles that he thinks no one can hear, but everyone can. His absent-mindedness when doing any task. A normal person's evaluation might be that their sibling is insane, but Mari knew better. Sunny had kil-, Sunny has a crush on someone. All the worries on Mari’s face were lifted and were replaced with a shit-eating grin. Sunny noticed the smugness on her face and silently cursed his sister’s observation skills. He covered his face with his sweaty hands and turned away.
“*Ohooooo~*, does little sunshine have a crush~.” Mari smirked. Her eyes narrowed, observing the sweat droplets on his temple. “How is sh-.” Mari observed her brother’s head doing a little shake.” “Ohhhh, heeee. Please tell me who it is Sunny.”
“N-no I don’t have a crush.” Sunny lied terribly, he was better at just giving her a blank stare like he usually does.
“Oh, you can’t lie to your big sister. Tell me Sunshine, you’ll know I’ll find out anyway.” She shook her brother back and forth violently.
“O-okay, okay, I’ll tell you. It’s Mikhael.” Sunny whispered in her ear.
“What.” Mari looked at her brother with the utmost shame, the frown on her face stretched a mile long. “You're joking, right? Sunny you can’t be serious.”
“Mari h-he’s cute…-ish. Look I don’t know!” His face reddened in embarrassment.
“No baby, no..” A single tear slipped out of Mari's eye.
Sunny rolled on the floor, and Mari just patted his leg sadly.
