Work Text:
Mark loved the cottage, but to be honest, he wished that he and his partners had more time together than just these rare moments here. Sometimes, he would irrationally hate it, because it was the only place he could see Kieran, a reminder that usually he wouldn’t be able to see his boyfriend. But he knew that the cottage was a good thing. Without it, he and Cristina and Kieran wouldn’t be able to be together at all.
All of these moments when he was here with his partners were definitely some of the best times of his life. He just wished that they could last.
“Kieran,” Mark said one day. The faerie king turned to look at him, and Mark asked, “If you could give it all up… the Unseelie crown, I mean… would you?”
Kieran nodded. “Yes,” he said. “I would.”
Mark had never believed otherwise, but it was still nice to hear this confirmation.
“We could find a place outside of this cottage,” Cristina said. “Though, well, Mark and I live near Shadowhunters, really.”
Kieran shrugged. “The bad ones are all in Idris, aren’t they? I see no problem.”
They smiled at each other.
Yes, Mark loved this cottage, but if they had been able to get an actual home and stay with each other every second of their days, instead of these little snatched moments…
That would have been perfect.
