Fingers dart across the keyboard, rapidly and aggressively typing. Eyes scan the screen in front of them, hands switching from tab to tab.
And with a smirk, Shen Yuan leans back in their chair.
I win.
Win what, you ask? Well, an argument on the internet. About what? Well, the crappiest novel Shen Yuan has ever read! Proud Immortal Demon Way! Over two thousand chapters and ever more plot holes, bullshit plots, and ridiculously humongous harem! The only highlight of the book was its main character, Luo Binghe.
And his revenge on the scum villain, Shen Qingqiu. And yes, some of the characters are genuinely interesting (like Sha Hualing!!), and sure, the world-building and creatures in said world (as sub-par as some of it is) are stupidly fascinating, and maybe some of the fighting scenes are cool but that's it! That's everything that's remotely good about the horrible web-novel!
And don't get him started on the papapa plots! The build-up to them! How they happen! Why they happen! How many there are!!!!
And its so disappointing because the book had genuinely cool world-building, creatures, (some, like only a handful of) characters, and plants (the names could use a little work, though)!
But instead, it devolved into a PWP! Hell, the only reason he read this bullshit piece of fiction was for Luo Binghe! (and maybe Sha Hualing).
But do you wanna know something worse?
The fanfiction. Ooohhh, the fanfiction. Now, you would think that a web-novel with such a huge fanbase, there would be someone who wants to fill in the obvious plot holes!
But nooooo, it's just more papapa! Even more ridiculous than anything Airplane Shooting Toward The Sky could ever even dream of writing.
Do you people have no shame?!?!
Then, there was one in particular that just made his blood boil.
How to become a Demon King.
The story follows a young knight-in-training, Luo Binghe who is severely mistreated by his master, Prince Shen Qingqiu, and other knights-in-training and eventually becomes the Demon King and gets revenge on everyone who has treated him terribly in his youth.
Simple, right? A simple story with a nice plot and supposedly satisfying ending, right?
Yeah, that's what Shen Yuan thought too.
But goddammit, that fanfiction is filled with so much god damn smut that Shen Yuan doubts that Luo Binghe even cares about becoming the demon king at this point! Like, almost ninety-something chapters and he still hasn't become the demon king?!?!?!
What are you going so slow for?! Why is it taking so long!? At least Airplane knew how to pace his scenes (as bad as some of them were)!
And don't even get him started on the fact that Luo Binghe spared the scum villain of the fic, Prince Shen Qingqiu, after everything he's done! Some bullshit about "Your better than this Luo Binghe!" Said by some wife that Shen Yuan has never heard of in the original series and seeing as how she's Luo Binghe's main girl for the entire ninety-something chapters, it's possible that she's a self-insert!
Shen Qingqiu didn't even reform after that! He was just more careful about it! (And some of the schemes he hatched were actually quite impressive. If only the author could put some of the geniusness into their fucking WRITING!!!)

Stupid fucking author! Stupid fucking plot holes! I could do ten times better!
Shen Yuan thought bitterly, biting of a piece of a muffin he's been saving for something like this (he anger-eats a lot, he notices).

Suddenly, he feels the muffin get lodged into his throat. He can't breathe. He can't breathe. He. Can't. Breathe.

He coughs, he falls out of his chair, beating on his chest.
