Summary
Instead of going to the police department to give his statement, Robert Montague Renfield plans to just run away. He’s done being a monster, but he can’t be a hero. Not yet and definitely not in the same city as his master.
Renfield’s not entirely sure where he’ll go, maybe back to England. There’s always a chance his daughter had had children. There might be… something or someone for him there. Maybe.
And unless Dracula finds another familiar immediately, Renfield will be safely out of reach by the time the Count realizes he’s missing.
One last murder. One last meal. One last goodbye. Then, he’s off. Done. Forever.
At least, in theory.
Or: after a surprisingly satisfying meal, Dracula realizes that Renfield is trying to do one last nice thing before bailing. Time to reel him back in.
