Golden Love

Summary:

How is the story going to change when Harry, Ron and Hermione are all in love?

Notes:

I do not own Harry Potter. I do own all plot changes.

This (very) loosely follows the movies, not all events were written about and new ones were made.

This story is mainly about the relationship between Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

I warned you now, so please don't comment "that's not what happened" or "what about this." If you don't like it, leave.

Story idea requested by: goldentrio90 over on Wattpad.

Each chapter is one school year and as mentioned before, I did this story in short scenes and this lovely follows the movies.

That being said, it's time to start reading!

I hope you enjoy it!

Edit April 2023: I am behind on other stories so this is being put on hold and goldentrio90 suggested that I publish what I had written so far.

Please don't comment update. If you do, your comment will be deleted.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Year One

Notes:

Please let me know how I did!

Chapter Text

Harry sat in his compartment alone, his leg bouncing up and down. He had no idea what to expect once he was at Hogwarts.

Would people like him? Would they treat him like those wizards in the pub did?

Would they hate him? He hoped they wouldn't. He already had to deal with the Durselys.

His thoughts were interrupted by a knock. Looking up he saw a boy the same age as him, shyly peaking into the compartment.

The first thing that Harry noticed was the boy's vibrant red hair. It was messy but it somehow suited him. He wondered if his hair was as soft as it looked.

"Excuse me." The boy said, clearly nervous. "Do you mind?" The boy asked before explaining. "Everywhere else is full."

"Not at all." Harry said as he gave him a nod. The boy gave him a grateful smile in return before sitting across from him.

It was then that Harry noticed the abundance of freckles that littered the boy's face. "Cute." He thought.

"I'm Ron, by the way. Ron Weasley." Ron introduces himself with a smile, clearly hoping to make a friend.

Harry gave Ron a smile. "I'm Harry. Harry Potter."

Harry saw Ron's eyes widen as he opened his mouth, looking at him in shock.

Harry held back a chuckle.

------------------------

Harry and Ron were quickly becoming fast friends. They had a lot of fun talking about their favorite things and bonding over food.

Harry was just about to ask Ron more  about what his family was like when a girl came by the compartment.

She looked around before sighing. Turning to them, she asked. "I hope I'm not interrupting but has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville lost one."

Both Harry and Ron shared a look of confusion before shaking their head. "No." Ron said.

Harry looked at the newcomer. Her hair was wild and frizzy. She had pretty brown eyes that seemed to be filled with intellect, and interest in the world around her.

"Who are you?" Harry asked with a friendly smile.

The girl gave them a smile. "I'm Hermione Granger." She then looked at them, waiting for them to introduce themselves.

"I'm Ron Weasley." Ron gave Hermione a nod.

"And I'm Harry Potter."

This time Harry really did chuckle when Hermione started freaking out just like Ron.

------------------------

Harry smiled as he sat down next to Ron and Hermione at the Gryffindor table. He couldn't be more relieved.

When he found out about the sorting, he was absolutely worried he wouldn't be in the same house as them.

His fear increased when the hat said he would do better in Slytherin than Gryffindor. After begging and giving many pleas, the hat announced he was a Gryffindor.

His fear then became joy.

He couldn't be happier to have Ron and Hermione by his side.

------------------------

The Golden Trio were in the library studying... Or at least, Hermione was.

Harry and Ron were quietly laughing, both ignoring Hermione who was trying to shush them.

"Will you two please stop!" She whispered heatedly. Harry and Ron looked at Hermione, both going quiet. However, the moment they turned back to each other they started hysterically laughing.

Hermione sighed but couldn't stop the fond smile that showed up on her face as she looked at them.

She really loved her friends.

------------------------

Ron's eyes went wide with awe when he saw Hermione do the charm perfectly.

"She's so bloody brilliant." He thought, dazed.

"How did you do that?" He asked, not even trying to hide how impressed he was.

Hermione glanced at him, looking to see if he was being sincere. Many kids at her muggle school would pretend to be friends with her and act like they were impressed by her. Those kids would later turn to their actual friends and laugh about her.

Seeing that his amazement was genuine, Hermione slightly blushed before she started explaining how she did it.

Hermione was suprised to see Ron actually listening. She was even more suprised when Ron tried the charm and did it perfectly.

Ron turned to Hermione, beaming at her. "Look 'Mione! I did it! And it's all thanks to you."

"Mione?" Hermione asked as she looked at Ron confused.

"It's a nickname." Ron replied, not showing how nervous he was. "Did she not like it?"

Hermione looked at Ron, bewildered. "You're giving me a nickname?"

"Of course, we're friends and you're so bloody amazing."

Hermione felt her cheeks turn pink. She never had anyone but her parents compliment her so genuinely and whole heartedly.

"Thanks." Hermione said as she ignored her rapidly beating heart.

------------------------

Ron let out a cheer when he saw Harry flying in the sky. Harry looked amazing. He was smiling so wide and his hair was blowing all over.

His cheer quickly stopped when he saw Harry's broom acting funky. He looked on in concern before turning to Hermione. "His broom must be spelled!"

Hermione nodded in agreement before looking over the crowd. Her eyes narrowed when she saw Snape pointing his wand and muttering. She turned to Ron, "Watch over Harry."

Hermione didn't give Ron a chance to say anything as she quickly sneaked over to Snape.

Ron blinked at Hermione's back before shaking his head. Turning back to Harry, he saw that his broom was still out of control when suddenly it was perfectly fine.

Ron smiled as he thought. "Nice going Hermione."

------------------------

Both Ron and Harry were laughing.

"I still can't believe Hermione set that old git's cloak on fire!" Ron said, his smile getting bigger as he reminisced at how startled Snape looked.

Harry laughed, "Neither can I."

"Hermione's amazing. Terrifying too." Ron said, causing Harry to snort before he nodded in agreement. "Yeah she is."

------------------------

Harry woke up with a groan. He was confused before he quickly remembered what happened with Voldemort and the stone. Looking around he saw he was in the infirmary.

He was about to sit up when he realized that there was extra weight on both sides of him.

Looking down he saw Ron and Hermione, snuggled into his side. He gently shook them awake.

He chuckled at how their faces scrunched about, clearly trying to stay asleep.

"Ron! Hermione!" Harry said as he started to shake them harder. They both quickly woke up at the sound of his voice, looking at him in relief.

"Harry, you're awake!" Ron cheered. Hermione chuckled at Ron before looking at him in concern. "Does anything hurt?"

Harry shook his head no, "I'm fine. Just a little sore. Are you two okay?"

Both Ron and Hermione nodded causing Harry to sigh in relief.

When he was facing Voldemort, all he could think about was the fact that he left them alone and that Ron was unconscious.

Harry brought them into his arms, slightly squeezing them. "Please don't ever leave me."

Ron and Hermione shared a look over Harry's shoulder before smiling. "We promise we won't." Hermione said.

"Yeah, mate. You're stuck with us."

------------------------

Harry, Ron and Hermione all looked at each other, slightly sad. They had gotten use to seeing each other everyday.

Harry opened his arms and both Ron and Hermione immediately lept into them, hugging him tight. "We can always letter each other." Hermione said, once she and Ron pulled back.

The boy's smiled at her and nodded in agreement.
