Mariko and all other original characters, places, things, and ideas belong to me but all Naruto/Naruto Shippuden characters, places, things, and ideas belong to Kishimoto. Book one contains the original series and its movies, book two contains Shippuden and its movies and book three contains The Last and Boruto. I know all the movies, minus The Last are technically not cannon but for the purposes of this story they are. As far as the timeline goes we’re sticking to the anime and its movies. Mariko is five years older tthan Naruto. As far as ships go I’m sticking to canon, even if I don’t particularly like Sasuke and Sakura together. Mariko might get a ship but I’m not really sure who it should be with yet. I also don’t know weather that person would be another OC or a canon character, feel free to leave suggestion in your reviews. But romance isn’t really the main focus of this story, what is the focus, is family ties, Mariko doing her best, and obviously the plot. This book contains light swearing because our main character is a teenager in a world filled with deadly magic ninja. Child soldiers and constant conflict of some kind is normal, blood and canon typical violence. You’ve been warned. The story will mostly be told from Mariko’s point of view but sometimes we’ll get an insight into other characters' perspectives by going in to their points of view or switch to a third person point of vew. Pov (point of view) changes, time skips and location changes will be signified and bolded all capitals LIKE THIS. They’ll also show up at the beginning of every chapter so that you can know where we are at in the story. When parentheses come up around words it means that the author, meaning me, is talking to you the reader. I’ll be popping into the story to explain something, make a joke, add a bit of commentary, or share an interesting fact. I won’t however be popping in a lot, I don’t want to ruin your immersion in the story. Please leave reviews telling me what you did and did not like and why. More detailed reviews often help me out as an author because it gives me more to work off of because I can see what I’m doing well and what I might need to work on. Constructive criticism is welcome and highly appreciated. Bullies aren’t welcome here and will not be tolerated so please just be nice. I’ll try and update when I can but between school, all of my other stories and the fact that I’m the only one editing and writing this updates will be slow and irregular. Name Before Reincarnation: Avalyn Cane
(Avalyn is an old English name that means “beautiful breath of life”. I picked Cane as her last name because of the book series The Cane Chronicles written by Rick Reorden, it’s pretty good and only 3 books, I most certainly recommend that you read it.)
Name After Reincarnation: Mariko Namikaze
(Mariko is Japanese in origin and means “truth-child”. I thought it would be accurate since she is an honest person that tries not to lie or keep secrets unless it’s absolutely necessary.)

(I have no idea weather the Namikaze are a clan but since Minato is the only Namikaze we’ve ever seen in the show or manga I’m just going to assume that the Namikaze are not a clan and instead are just some random civilian family that have really strong genes. Seriously how did Naruto not inherit any of his mom’s physical traits when she’s from an old and really powerful clan with their own crazy genetics? I don’t know but it bothers me just a little bit.)
