Work Text:
A rugged landscape that seemed as though designed to kill. The horrors of the surviving gangs that prowled inside it. The bullets seemed like a shower of rain sent from hell itself.
And there you were, caught in the middle of it all.
Y/N slammed themselves behind some broken metal structure. Their leg felt as though it had been shattered into a million pieces. Were they dipping their bullets into nuclear waste or something? Fuck.
They reached for the other gun by their side. How many tools had they chewed through by now? If only they hadn’t gotten involved with anybody else here. They didn’t need anyone.
Except maybe…
Him…
Y/N shook their head. This wasn’t the time. They reached in another pocket for some bullets.
Oh.
Oh no.
Shit.
Shit. Shit. Shit, shit.
There wasn’t anything.
Y/N turned back to catch a glimpse of their attackers. They were getting closer by the second.
I’m done for, Thought a doomed man. I’ll have to pray for a miracle.
The gunshots roared overhead. The clanking of the metal seemed as though it would deafen them. They closed their eyes and accepted their fate.
But…
Y/N was…
Fine..?
It seemed as though God had answered their prayers.
There, in the light of a red, burning sun, he stood in all his glory. Like the eye of a storm. A tranquil moment within the rage that scorched their world.
“Y-Your majesty!”
There he was. The most handsome Lemur catta to grace this undeserving world.
“King Julian!”
He leaped down to meet the injured gunman.
“Y/N…” His voice was silky, too pure for a place like this. “I finally found you…”
He leaned in, and Y/N clasped themself around his Lemuridae lips, an act which brought with it an overwhelming warmth deep within their body.
“Ah… I just…” Y/N took a moment to catch their breath. “I haven’t felt something like that… in a very long time… In fact, I can’t recall a time like that at all.”
The monarch chuckled. “We shouldn’t stay here. You need medical attention. Let’s move it, move it!”
He hooked one primate limb under their injured leg and carefully held them against his chest, and walked off with their long lost lover into the vast landscape.
