Work Text:
More and more people were coming in the coffee shop that had opened in Soho two weeks ago. It was located on the opposite of Aziraphale's bookshop, so it was a great way to encourage his customers to go and visit it. What was very helpful was that Aziraphale was a very talkative and social angel. He really tried to get to know the humans even more. It was fascinating for him. Since the idea about opening the shop. Crowley couldn't quite understand it but it was for his angel. He would do anything for his angel.
At first, the demon wasn't so sure about the coffee shop. It would mean lots of work, dealing with unhappy customers but his point of view had changed after Aziraphale pointed out that when the situation gets tough they could just use a little miracle. They're not under the influence of Heaven or Hell. And Crowley very much liked the idea.
The shop was a small, cosy one with a long wooden counter that would fit about six people there. Apart from that, it had three built-in sofas with tartan blankets laying on the sides (it was Aziraphale's idea, obviously) for a sudden weather change and so the people would never feel cold. On the front wall there were two big windows that enlightened the whole room fully and enlarged it visually. It was a safe space for every single person, animals too. Aziraphale made sure that there was always a full bowl of water ready for any pet coming with their owner.
And, of course, one thing that couldn't have been missed by Crowley were the plant. Lots of them, and he meant it. There were plant hanging from the ceiling, above the counter, in the corners. It looked like they were wrapped around the whole shop and they all smelt so nice that combined with the coffee scent it was amazing. Both of them were very proud of their idea, since it was their first project together. Aziraphale liked to call it their child but Crowley thought he had gone a bit too far with it but deep down he actually adored that idea.
After decorating the whole place came the time for actual coffee making which turned out to be a bit tricky for them. But what are miracles for? Their main purpose was to make the customers happy so how else could you do it if not by magically make their coffee the most delicious in their whole life. One might said that it was a perfect money earning source. But through be told, they didn't need money that's why they decided to donate the money they earn to different charities.
"But remember, I do this for you, not because I'm nice," Crowley said as they made the money decision. Aziraphale only smiled at that and agreed to avoid an argument but he knew that he was in fact very nice.
The shop was usually not very busy but the weekends sometimes were crazy. And that was one of these days. Crowley went inside the shop through the entrance at the back and immediately heard so many voice coming from the shop. As he joined Aziraphale behind the counter, he gave him a sneaky kiss on his cheek to point out his presence and started serving the customers. The angel blushed heavily and tried to keep on working. The customers knew well that there was something going on between the two owners and they adored every single thing about them. They were always so open to help and to talk.
"Angel, we're running out of milk," the demon said and as he went pass the angel, he gave him a teasing slap on his ass and smiled mischievously.
"Crowley!" Aziraphale told him off but was quietly silenced by a quick kiss.
"Milk, angel," Crowley grinned showing his white and sharp teeth.
And that was how their usual day looked like. They enjoyed it so much. Being able to be so close to one another was a dream come true. No more hiding, no more running, no more fighting. Just the two of them in their little coffee shop.
As the time passed by, there were less and less customers in the shop so Crowley and Aziraphale could also slow down his work a bit. It was a great opportunity to be a little bit more affectionate with each other. One thing that the demon absolutely loved to do was to stand behind his angel put his chin on his head and hugged his waist while he was making another coffee for another customer. From time to time, Crowley would playfully take Aziraphale's hand and move it for him. These were the moments they loved the most. When they were able to just be happy with each other.
"You know what, angel," Crowley said as they were about to close the shop after the day.
"Yes, dear boy?"
"Maybe the idea about the coffee shop wasn't that bad after all".
