Work Text:
Aiden rested his tired body against Lukas' shoulder. He was watching him edit the latest edition of his book on their bed. Through weary eyes the computer screen made everything look like a black bob. He winced when he took a deep breath. A sharp pain ran through his chest as he had been doing physical labor all day. The sun had set, and he wanted to rest but he couldn't seem to relax.
"Have you taken your pills?" Lukas didn't look away from his laptop.
Aiden grunted and shifted away from his boyfriend, "Ugh. You know they make me tired in the morning."
"I know. But you need your rest. It's late." He saw Aiden curled up in a ball on the side of the bed.
The male didn't say anything. A certain type of sadness overtook him that he couldn't shake off. His mind tried to consume him but Lukas' gentle hand ran along his back.
"I know we've been busy. But just know that I love you."
Aiden let out a sigh, "I love you too."
It was silent in the room for a moment. The blond was wracking his brain on what to say to his boyfriend. He knew he got in moods like this, and the best thing to do would be to actually get up and do an activity. "Hey, why don't we take a bath?"
"A bath?" Aiden thought for a moment, "Man I haven't taken one in ages." It did sound nice. Even if he was exhausted.
Lukas smiled, "I'll set it up then." He didn't allow Aiden to protest, he knew he badly needed this. He pushed aside the laptop took his phone in the room for music, along with a few candles and a lighter. In the blue tiled bathroom he lit the vanilla flames and dimmed the lights. Water ran from the faucet at just the right temperature, and he swished around bubble bath to make the room look cozy.
He came back into the room to see Aiden in the same position. "It's ready." Lukas let Aiden grab on his hand as he sat up and guided him to the room. They shut the door behind them, even though no one was in the house.
Being in the room felt nice. It smelled good too. Aiden lifted his shirt and Lukas did the same. They smiled at each other like they were seeing each other undress for the first time. But they had seen each other naked many times. Once they were fully nude Lukas allowed him to enter the warm tub first. He wanted to moan from how nice the water felt on his aching body. The liquid rose as the two of them got comfortable and sat in the tub.
"See? I told you this would be good." Lukas took off his glasses and put them to the side.
He ignored the comment and chuckled, "Have I ever told you how cute you look?"
Lukas tried to hide his blush but failed miserably, "Now you want to act cute after acting miserable five minutes ago?"
"Hey, that was a long time ago."
His boyfriend was smiling now. His plan had worked. He was the entire sun when he smiled. Aiden grabbed Lukas' hand and his body naturally relaxed from the touch.
Lukas looked down at his hand. There was dirt under his fingernails and cuts all over his hand. "Gosh, your hand is really beaten up isn't it?"
Aiden looked down and shrugged. "I'm used to it."
His fingers trailed over the old cuts and dried blood. "You're gonna get an infection." He grabbed a handful of soap from nearby and started rubbing it over the rough hand.
"This isn't necessary—"
"Yes it is. I bet you have cuts and bruises all over don't you?"
"Yeah but it doesn't matter."
It was too late. Lukas was already getting the rag and more soap. "Let me do this for you Aiden, please."
He couldn't do anything but nod and stare bewildered. He thought it was impossible for someone to love him when he was being so bitchy. Lukas moved up his hairy arm, making sure the rag was full of suds with each stroke he made.
Aiden liked being pampered, although he would hate to admit it. He wished he could do the same to Lukas but he knew he wouldn't have the energy to do so. As his boyfriend started to clean the upper half of his body Aiden got nervous. He looked down at the scene and Lukas stopped where the water hit his stomach.
He handed out the rag, "Here, I know you don't like being touched down there."
Aiden took it and gave a sigh of relief, "Thanks. You know I love you but not like that."
Lukas chuckled, completely unbothered by the comment, "I know, love you too silly."
He even closed his eyes while Aiden washed down there. Cause you know, it would be awkward to stare. He was so glad he had a boyfriend that respected his boundaries. He tapped his shoulder when he was done, and Lukas ordered him to turn around.
The blond started to wash his back. It wasn't pretty to say the least. There were indeed cuts and bruises all over his skin. "You really need to take care of yourself more."
Aiden just mumbled, he knew he couldn't argue with the blond. Lukas was right. Aiden would always put others before himself. He had done so his whole life. "I don't know what I'd do without you." The moment felt so sensual, so pleasant. Lukas made his sadness fade into the water. He was like magic.
Lukas kissed the back of his neck and ran his fingers through Aiden's growing hair. "I gotta take care of my man now don't I?"
He chuckled, "Yeah. But you deserve some love too, you know." He turned around and kissed Lukas on the lips for a moment. Then backed away smirking.
Lukas accepted the kiss and couldn't help laughing at Aiden's smirk. "Let me finish, you goofball."
They didn't need to say anything. The two were so close they could enjoy each other's presence without saying a word. An old timey romantic song came on from Lukas' phone and Aiden could feel his smile burning on his back. Lukas washed himself up and Aiden used the time to relax and reminisce on Lukas' fingers washing his body.
He stepped out to dry himself off and Lukas followed soon after. The two blew out candles and headed back to the room. Aiden spread out on the bed and stretched his limbs overdramatically after he put on a pair of boxers. Lukas settled on the bed and began typing on his laptop. He pulled out his first aid kid and put some antibiotic cream and bandages on Aiden’s hand, which he groaned about. Once again they were in the same position they were at the start. Only this time they were a little closer.
