Chapter 1: Dan Heng
Summary:
Dan Heng comes across a distraught Caelus, and the reason why baffles him to no end.
OR
dan heng’s chapter!!
Chapter Text
Caelus slumps on the dark wood of the Astral Express’s coffee table, burying his head in his arms.
He feels so… down. Like nothing truly matters anymore. Like things will never be mended after he saw that.
He stews on the table for a while and doesn’t look up until he hears footsteps approaching, too heavy to be March’s and faster than both Himeko and Mr. Yang’s.
“Dan Heng?” The man in questions stares at the other with a questioning look on his face.
“What’s gotten you so worked up today?”, Dan Heng asked in a stern yet caring voice, looking the trailblazer up and down.
Caelus looks down at the blank table again, still feeling terribly down in the dumps (haha get it).
For a moment he contemplates what seems to be life and death to the taller.
“Are you sure you want to know?” he asks with finality and sorrowful eyes.
Dan Heng mentally prepares himself for the worst news. Maybe Caelus broke the archive tablets again somehow, or might die soon because of the unstable and unpredictable Stellaron in his body, or maybe Dan Heng and March aren’t good enough travel companions anymore—
Despite all the thoughts swirling in his head like a storm, Dan Heng swallows and nods. “Go ahead.”
It takes the silver-haired trailblazer a few seconds to collect his thoughts and feelings.
Caelus takes a deep breath. “I- I was walking in Belobog today, an-and I saw—“ he stops for a second, stuttering.
Dan Heng nods once more, pulling up a chair next to Caelus. “Take your time.”
Caelus sighs, and finally continues.
“So- I— I saw these two trash cans today. And they were both side by side like the Eternal Freeze or the Stellaron wasn’t going to stop them and I felt so sad because how can trash cans have the kind of bond and I don’t?!”
He wheezed as if he was completely out of breath after recounting his tragic story.
Dan Heng stood still for a moment, trying to process everything. And when he did, he couldn’t help but bring his palm to his forehead in realization.
Of course it’s about the trash cans.

March loved her new trailblazing companion dearly, but sometimes she questioned his judgement.

Notes:
thank you guys so much for the kudos and hits omg the serotonin is skyrocketing right now!!
please enjoy, i have some notes at the end!

Chapter Text
March really liked her new trailblazing companion. Sometimes Dan Heng was a little too stoic, Himeko a bit too vague, Mr. Yang too analytical, and so on (except not so on because March can’t remember any other companions).
But Caelus was a breath of fresh air, eager and excited to trailblaze with his unique determination and mindset.
And though her new trailblazing companion was an amazing partner and friend, March did sometimes question his… judgement? Insight? She didn’t know, but he did definitely have his own special quirks.
On the trio’s journey through Belobog, she would occasionally notice that when her and Dan Heng’s backs were turned, their beloved Trailblazer was rifling through the nearest trash can like a raccoon.
March was always curious as to what Caelus saw in the garbage, since she thought things were thrown out for a reason. So she worked up the nerve to ask him, finally got ready to tell him, then got his attention, and then immediately forgot what she was going to say.
Weeks later near the end of their journey, the trio readied their bags and started heading to the Astral Express to prepare for their next journey.
Dan Heng and March had their luggage all packed and were just waiting for Pom-Pom and her signal. The two just took the time to let Himeko and Mr. Yang they were ready, as well as check on any other messages.
Caelus was nowhere to be seen.
One long goose chase of a trailblazer like a speedy warp trotter with his phone on silent later, and the experienced duo finally find the man in question only to see his legs poking out and the rest of his body buried in the trash can.
Dan Heng sighs and March smiles, snapping a photo. Caelus, hearing the camera flash, gets out of the trash can and looks up at the two.
“Oh, March! Dan Heng! Sorry to keep you.” He smiles at the pair, holding a (surprisingly) important looking book in his hand.
“What is that? Another trash find?” Dan Heng asks, and curiously points at the book and gestures to have a peek. As he and Caelus flip through the mystery book, March is suddenly reminded of her question she meant to ask all that time ago.
She taps him on the shoulder, getting his attention. “Hey Caelus? Why do you even look through trash cans anyway?”
Said man looks up from reading with Dan Heng and shrugs.
“I like to think trash cans are like the treasure chests of the city. They can have valuable resources and things we could use on our journey, or just cool things.” the Trailblazer speaks from the heart, eyes glittering.
March hums in understanding, also lighting up a little. She had never thought of that before. Finally, the Great March 7th had figured out the Caelus Trash Can Mystery!
March smiles widely as she exclaims, “Well then, if our next destination has trash cans, Dan Heng and I will join you on your quest for the sparkling treasures of the city!”
Dan Heng uncharacteristically cracks a small smile at that and Caelus visibly lights up at March’s declaration.
“You will? That really means a lot to me! Thank you both!”

Chapter Text
Noticeably, the Astral Express Family’s new trailblazer had brought home an extra huge bag. Dan Heng and March seemed to already know what was inside, so they didn’t bother to push or ask. And Welt? Welt raised his eyebrow, but he said nothing.
Himeko, on the other hand, was quite the curious woman and couldn’t bother to wait around like Welt would.
When Caelus was done lugging his bags back to his room and after Himeko got herself some coffee, the woman politely knocked on the door and was let in.
“Hey Himeko! Did you need anything from me?” the Trailblazer asked with a beaming smile.
Ever eager to help, Himeko mentally noted with a smile and laughs a little.
“Don’t worry, I don’t need anything. I just was a little curious about the new little bag you’ve dragged in.”
Caelus blushed as if he’d been caught doing something bad and sat down on his bed, gesturing for Himeko to do the same.
“How do I explain this— uh… So on our trailblazing journey in Belobog, we came across these trash cans in the city.”
Himeko, like Welt had before, raised her eyebrow and sipped her coffee, but gestured for him to continue.
“So naturally, as one does, I dig through the trash cans to find anything we could use. March and Dan Heng were questioning me, but I thought it was a great idea,” Caelus said with an air of righteousness as if he defeated the Doomsday Beast himself.
Himeko smiled at the surprise. She didn’t necessarily expect the mystery bag to be full of Caelus’ dumpster treasures, but it wasn’t necessarily unwelcome by any means.
“You should show me some of your favorite things you’ve found. I’d love to know more about your journey on Jarilo-VI.”
The Trailblazer lit up, eyes sparkling as he grabbed the overfilled bag and opened it, pulling out a couple books and shiny scraps of metal.
As Caelus went on with explaining the story behind each piece and what the Express Family could do with them, Himeko listened intently. She chuckled to herself and thought,
Our little Trailblazer’s all grown up.

Chapter Text
To be honest, Welt Yang had no idea what to think when Caelus casually bought an extra huge bag into the Express.
For all he knew, there could be a range of things like dead bodies to abundant new resources in there that their new Trailblazer just dragged in. And even if Welt thought about it, he just as much about the bag as he did the kid bringing it in.
The Astral Express was just deemed ready to leave by Pom Pom after a day of getting prepared, and Welt hoped to maybe join the kids on their next trip. He wanted to go and ask Caelus how the journey went, having already asked March and Dan Heng for their two cents. However (of course), there must have been some sort of an agreement between the trio because Welt didn’t hear a single thing about the mystery bag.
So what Welt Yang expected when he opened Caelus’ door was the man in question maybe getting comfortable and unpacking after his trip, or nothing at all.
What he didn’t expect was to see Himeko and Caelus with the mysterious bag opened and many different trinkets scattered throughout the room.
Himeko looked up at Welt, winked and smiled at him and then stood up with her empty cup of coffee.
“Caelus, I’m going to refill my coffee. You should tell Welt about your adventures too. I’m sure he’d love to hear about them.” And with that, Himeko walked out and shut the door behind her, heels clacking down the stairs to the Party Car.
Caelus awkwardly gestured for Welt to sit where Himeko was, and the man in question sat down.
“So what have you got there?” Internally, Welt cringed at his attempt at a conversation starter.
Caelus looked up from fiddling with a few of the olden Belobog coins with bright eyes.
“I’ve been collecting a bunch of things to see if they’d be useful for our journey or not!” He smiled, flipping the coin, failed to catch it, and then went to digging back into the bag to find more things.
Welt nodded slowly, waiting for some sort of catch or “sike!” because that bag seemed super suspicious despite having “a bunch of useful things” inside (no offense to Caelus).
“So I have these old Belobog coins, and this dreamcatcher, and this cool looking key thing too! As well as this spear tip, and these miscellaneous gears,” Caelus said, holding up each item as he introduces them.
The older man smiled at the collection, albeit slightly strained with concern.
“…You got these trinkets all from dumpsters and garbage cans?”
Caelus nodded with a little of that excitement in his eyes still shining like the polished silver and gold coins he’s collected.
Welt buried his concern for the eager traveler and decided to question it (and make sure Caelus was alright) all another day.
“That’s very cool, Caelus. I’m very proud of you for thinking about the Express, even on your journey.” Welt paused and smiled at the younger. “You know, Himeko had to stop me from trying to come down to Jarilo-VI and help you.”
“Really? I didn’t know that. I thought the both of you knew we had it handled?” Caelus asked as he scooted toward the edge of his seat.
“And did you have it handled?” The older man asked with playful incredulity.
Laughter and chatter filled the air as the two discussed the journeys of the past and what could lie ahead in the future.
And on that day, Welt Yang and Caelus formed a bond from trash to treasure.
Notes:

Chapter 5: Pom-Pom
Summary:
Caelus’ new mystery bag is not only making passengers confused, but making the conductor a little miffed they have to clean up after him. Pom-Pom decides to follow their own curious nature after a little bit of thinking.
OR
pom-pom’s chapter !!!!
Notes:
HI GUYS I LIED SORRY WHOOPS

however!!! today i was stung by the fluff bug after going to an aquarium with my bestie so its a win!
please enjoy this chapter, and make sure to read end notes! <3
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
At first, Pom-Pom was very mad that this new special bag Caelus brought in was making the Express smell like garbage and leaving weird marks on the floor they had to clean.
When the bag was taken away to Caelus’ room and the Express only smelled like the finest of flowers, Pom-Pom only then decided to ask someone about that nasty bag.
Keyword “someone”, not Caelus himself. Pom-Pom enjoys hanging out with Caelus, and maybe they’re overthinking it, but asking someone why they brought in a smelly, dirty bag is way too much effort for Pom-Pom right now.
So they wait. After what feels like forever, which could’ve been days or just minutes, Pom-Pom decides to march into the room and ask Caelus themselves.
The door creaks open, the conductor could barely make out the long-faded scent of Himeko and Welt in the room.
“Oh hey Pom-Pom, do you need anything?” Caelus looks up from what looks like organizing trinkets on a shelf.
“Uh,” Pom-Pom started, “yes. Pom-Pom would like to know…” they trail off.
The silver-haired trailblazer turned his full body to Pom-Pom, showing that he was listening. “Go on…”
“Pom-Pom would like to know about that musty bag that you brought in the other day.” They stand accusingly with their paws on their hips.
Caelus smiles. “It’s my collection of little treasures and trinkets I collected from my journey!”
Pom-Pom makes a displeased face. “All that from one journey?”
“Yeah, I’m honestly surprised too,” Caelus says with a bewildered face as he truly starts to count the tidbits he has around the room.
The conductor feels a lull in the conversation and feels it’s best for them to leave, so they do with a wave, which Caelus returns.
“These make good stories, so if you want to listen to some, I’d be glad to tell you.” He grins as Pom-Pom slides the cabin door closed.
Days later, Pom-Pom was so tired but couldn’t sleep. They wanted to close their eyes and rest, but when they committed to it, the conductor would feel wide awake, as if sleep was inevitable.
Then Pom-Pom remembered that they liked to fall asleep to Caelus’ stories, and so the exhausted conductor trudged over to his room. They slid open the door, and surprisingly, the man was still awake.
A dim lamp was lit, illuminating the room with a soft golden glow. Caelus was sitting on his bed with the soft sounds of ‘victory!’ and ‘restart?’. He puts his phone down and glances up.
He softly smiles at pats the bed beside him, and Pom-Pom sits down. They lean against the taller.
“I can tell you a story if you want?”
The conductor nods and lays down, spreading their legs and arms on the bed. They listen as Caelus picks up a random object that clinks off the shelf and starts his story.
“This snow globe was given to me by the new Supreme Guardian of Belobog. Now Bronya, the Supreme Guardian, is a very wonderful woman, with wits as sharp as the pointiest swords, and a true leader like no other. She had finally won the battle against her adoptive mother, Cocolia, who…”
As Caelus goes on, he looks fondly at the shining globe. The item itself couldn’t have looked more expensive than 250 credits, but it was worth so much more to the trailblazer, and Pom-Pom could understand that.
Soon enough, they drifted off, dreaming of a princess (now queen) in the land of snow, with her fiery best friend. The conductor dreamed of a inventor musician and her younger brother, a captain of the guards.
They dreamed and dreamed and when they woke up, they decided it was the best sleep they’ve ever had.

Chapter 6: Caelus
Summary:
Caelus didn’t really know when the feelings started. It was practically instinct at this point to rummage around and look for treasures, even in “unorthodox places” like a trash can. (Which he thinks is nonsense because trash cans are hidden beauties with all the treasure inside.)
OR
caelus’ chapter!!! (our first +1)
Notes:
hey guys lol so i lied (again) but with even more bullshit this time
like it’s literally god damn summer and i haven’t been writing or updating at all wtf 🧍♀️

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Caelus didn’t really know when the feeling started. It felt like a natural instinct to “act like those trash pandas on the data bank”, as Dan Heng put it.
The overwhelming urge to just see what possible treasures a trash can could hold were too strong, and the sad thing was that nobody else really seemed to understand.
Honestly, Caelus never really thought about it too much until everyone on the Express kept asking him about it. Himeko, Welt, even Pom-Pom.
That was until he unpacked everything from Jarilo-VI and realized he might have a bit of a problem. Himeko and Pom-Pom had supplied him with several empty shelves and stands for his treasures, but after neatly placing every trinket, Caelus realized he’d taken up half of the new space.
To a normal person, this might have seemed fine. Just throw out some old ones, or collect less on the next journey, not a big deal.
To Caelus the trailblazer of the Astral Express, this was a huge deal. He rationally knew he’d pull in around the same amount of ornaments on each planet, and he didn’t know how many planets the crew would visit.
There was bound to be a second, a third, a fourth, and so on. So he sat down on his bed, thinking of a way to problem solve. He sat for a long while, thinking and thinking and thinking, until suddenly, an idea came faster than Pom-Pom when the train has a speck of dirt on it.
The next day, Caelus gathers a good amount of his treasures and starts taking a little tour around the Express. Ideally, this wouldn’t catch anyone’s eye and he’d be a swift and stealthy as a ninja.
Like before, Welt seemed slightly suspicious, but just shrugged and carried on with his day. Himeko had smiled as she sipped her coffee, only saying a polite greeting and letting Caelus continue on his quest.
When the trailblazer busted into the archives to survey the room, he wasn’t expecting Dan Heng to be there (for some reason. Come on trailblazer brain, you’re better than this ).
“What are you doing?” Dan Heng turned around from the screens he was staring at.
“AAUGH! I mean, nothing to worry about Dan Heng!” Nervous laughter comes from Caelus, as he scans the room and quickly exits before the other can get a word in.
Not very stealthy this time.
Surprisingly, Caelus runs into March last. The peppy girl is lying down on her bed, smiling and laughing at what seems to be cat videos. The silver-haired man quickly surveys the room and tries not to get the girl’s attention.
“Oh hey Caelus! Do you need anything?”
Darn it. So much for being like a ninja.
The man in question laughs nervously.
“Nothing really, just wanted to… see how you were doing! I’m off now, love you, bye!” He shuts the door before March can reciprocate the words.
Whew, mission successful.
Caelus sits down at his desk with a pencil and starts writing, glancing at his trinkets and makes an occasional sketch on the side of the paper.
Hopefully everyone likes it.
Dan Heng wakes up the next morning, stretching as he reaches for the usual book he reads to get the grogginess out of his eyes.
He jolts fully awake when a small mini figure falls into his lap.
What?
Dan Heng slowly stands up and looks around the archives, finding it littered with trinkets and treasures, in spots he didn’t even consider to be empty.
It adds a lot more of a cozy feeling to the room, he thinks as he recognizes some of the objects.
Dan Heng takes a closer look at each and every one of them, cracking a small smile.
March looked around at all of the treasures that littered her room. She took a close look at each of them, recognizing some from their recent journey.
The objects seemed to fill in empty space that she didn’t even know was empty, and it added a nice decorative flair March didn’t know she was missing.
March walks into the main Parlor Car of the Express and notices Pom-Pom also staring in awe at the ornaments scattered around. They both look at each other, and non-verbally agree that it was probably Caelus.
Welt Yang sleepily awakens, slowly sitting up and proceeds to do a double take when he something bright and unfamiliar in his room. He squints at the object before realizing his glasses aren’t on. He sighs, puts on said glasses, and gets a clear look at said object.
Instantly, Welt recognizes it as one of the “super cool trinkets” Caelus showed him, and smiles at the thought.
The older Nameless decides that he wishes to make memories like this. Preserved in priceless items, from journeys prior, and many more to come.
Himeko sips her morning coffee in the parlor, having noticed all of the little treasures and ornaments decorating the Express. She thought back to her conversation with Caelus and remembered that these were all from a singular journey.
That whole morning, the mechanic entertains the thought of Caelus going on so many journeys that the Express is soon overfilled with baubles and objects, and laughs to herself.
Even if Himeko hated Kafka herself, she would be forever grateful to the woman for bringing a ray of sunshine onto the Express.
And that day, after Caelus had finished tirelessly decorating the Express, he thought to himself,
Wow, this place really feels like home.

Chapter 7: Stelle
Summary:
Herta has asked the Trailblaze Trio (tm) to test out a new calyx function, but they get a little surprise visit from someone.
OR
stelle’s chapter!!! (the ++1)
Notes:
HI GUYS!!! thank you so much for waiting such a long time. it’s finally here!!!!!
please enjoy the chapter, and as always, check the end notes.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
After a lot of nagging (from Pom Pom begging for a restock), the Astral Express gang stopped back at Herta’s Space Station.
As soon as Caelus steps off the steps of train, a Herta puppet comes up to greet him.
“I need you to test something out for me again.”
Caelus rolls his eyes as he starts heading down the walkway. Herta stands in front of his way.
“Is this another Simulated Universe thing?” He pauses both in speech and in movement, face to face with the puppet. “Can I bring Dan Heng and March at least?”
The Herta puppet sighs. “Surprisingly, it’s not. I have something I want to experiment with that isn’t the Simulated Universe. Wow. Crazy.” she said in a flat tone.
Caelus laughs at her, and she glares at him to shut him up.
“So anyway, I need you and… I guess your friends too— to test something with the calyxes that I’ve been working on.”
The trailblazer smiles in excitement and readies to tell the others, only for Herta to stop him.
“Just two. You and two others. No more, no less.” Herta pulls up a hologram clock. “Be in my office in a system hour and a half.”
Caelus nods, and hearing the distant cries of help from Pom Pom, runs over to assist them try to load more supplies onto the train.
Exactly an hour and a half later, Caelus, March, and Dan Heng stand patiently in Herta’s office… with an offline Herta puppet inside.
After what feels like years of waiting, Herta logs on. Without any words, she gestures for the trio to follow her.
The four arrive at the crimson calyx in the space station and the group (except Herta) is mildly concerned by the amount of screens and hologram models surrounding it.
The researcher looks at the trailblaze trio. “I need you three to hop in there and run some test fights, like you always do to collect materials. I’m just going to try and record the data, maybe run a test simulation or two. Nothing crazy.”
March beams at Herta. “Sounds good!”
The three enter the calyx, the familiar feel of almost loading into a game is comforting after all of their adventures.
Before the battle starts however, Herta speaks again, not unlike her guiding directions in her Simulated Universe.
“If you three ever need any help with calyxes or any related fight, you can use this device to summon help.” At the mention of a device, it falls from the not-sky and into Dan Heng’s hands.
On the device, a holographic screen pops up from the physical tool with a scroll list, and each entry has a familiar name and icon headshot next to it.
Herta’s voice rings through the domain again. “You can summon temporary AI versions of your companions and use their combat abilities to assist you. I’ve inputted myself, Welt, and Himeko for now, as well as the three of you.”
Caelus nods as he scrolls and taps on Herta’s icon. The trio steps back as a holographic Herta appears beside them, readied for combat.
March widens her eyes as she looks over the Herta and walks around it. “Wow, it’s even the same size as normal Herta!”
Said Herta glares and clutches her hammer tighter, and March, intimidated, steps back.
Caelus chuckles to himself as he and Dan Heng look at the other options that pop up. The trailblaze trio themselves show up on the list, and Caelus tries to summon a second Dan Heng.
An error message sounds as the newly summoned—but blurred— silhouette of Dan Heng glitches where “Herta” once stood.
“Unfortunately, you can’t summon another version of yourselves or somebody in the domain. I’m trying to work on that, and the ability to summon more than one person but it’s a work in progre—“ Unexpectedly, Herta’s disembodied voice starts to glitch and cut out.
Caelus, March, and Dan Heng immediately ground themselves and look around for any threats, and notice that the silhouette hologram is covered in vibrant, pixelated blocks.
A familiar voice crackles through the domain with a laugh. “This combat needs optimizing.”
Both March and Dan Heng sigh, and Caelus just glowers up at the sky as if Silver Wolf can see his disgruntled expression.
“That’s not a nice way to greet your old friend and mother,” a second voice cuts in with its all-too-recognizable smooth timbre.
The trash-loving trailblazer just glares harder at the sky, bristling slightly at even the prospect of being Kafka’s son.
“Calm down, it was a joke,” Kafka jokingly defends, clearly not taking her “son” seriously. “Look, Silver Wolf and I just want to test something out in Herta’s little system here, and when we’re done, we’ll leave. No harm will come to any of you.”
Dan Heng steps in front of March and Caelus, with full intent to protect the other two. “I don’t believe that for a second.”
“Relax, it’s just a test,” Silver Wolf replies annoyedly, and as she finishes her sentence, a new figure appears in the place of the cubed-up hologram.
“We’ll just run this test and then we’ll be out of your hair. Don’t stress,” Kafka reassures.
The silhouette glitches and forms a young woman of similar age and size to March, and she flutters her golden eyes open.
Dan Heng falters from his protective stance as Caelus slowly walks up to the person.
He waves his hand in front of the person, and she startles. She tightens her grip on her baseball bat and looks around at the trio.
“Who are you?”
March steps in immediately, trying to diffuse the situation and calm the girl down. “We can introduce ourselves. Uh… I’ll go first! I’m March 7th, and I’m a Nameless with the rest of the Astral Express.” She then not so subtly stares holes into Dan Heng in order to get him to go next, who clears his throat.
“I’m Dan Heng, also with the Nameless of the Astral Express.” He pauses, before adding “I originate from the Xianzhou Luofu but that doesn’t really matter.”
A small flash of recognition passes Stelle’s face, though it goes unnoticed by the trio.
Caelus stares at the girl, having noticed oddly familiar things between her and himself. They had the same ashy-silver hair, the same piercing gold eyes, even similar clothing styles— not to mention to completely identical baseball bat (which was odd, because the one he has was a unique curio from Herta and she couldn’t have gotten the same one).
“Ahem, Caelus, are you going to introduce yourself or do I have to do it for you?” March’s annoyed voice cuts through his thoughts and the trailblazer quickly apologizes.
“Sorry, I’m Caelus, also a member of the Nameless, and I was born—oh aeons should i even be telling you this—to be a vessel for a stellaron, which is implanted in my chest.”
Dan Heng raises his eyebrow Caelus immediately giving away his origin, but doesn’t say anything. But like, it wasn’t his fault though! The girl just seemed like she would understand what he was talking about, and he just couldn’t stop the word vomit fast enough.
Caelus awkwardly smiles at the girl, who looks like she’s having some epiphanies of her own.
She fidgets with the handle of her baseball bat and looks down. “I’m Stelle, and,” she pauses, deciding which words to say. “and I was also ‘born’ the same way you were, only I don’t house a stellaron in me.”
The trailblaze trio widen their eyes, surprised that there was somebody designed for the same incredibly niche purpose as Caelus.
“So… did Kafka… create you?” Caelus asks hesitantly, hoping to figure out the connection between their origins.
“I guess so,” Stelle replies. “I never really thought about it though, I just knew that I sort of came into existence and now live with the Stellaron Hunters.”
“Can we trust you?” Dan Heng immediately cuts into the conversation, thinking about Blade.
The girl is caught off guard, and puts her hands in the air. “I swear— I don’t do any illegal stuff or bring about the destruction of worlds or even Aeons, cause that’s not in my job description,” she mutters the last part under her breath.
Dan Heng lowers Cloudpiercer by mere inches, but still definitely has his guard up.
“I… think we can trust her,” March says after some silence. “Stelle, right? Uh, what’s something you like to do for fun?”
Said girl steps closer to March and farther away from Dan Heng before she answers. “Kafka finds it amusing, but I like to collect things? Whenever we head to different planets I like to find trinkets and whatnot to bring back to home base.”
Caelus notes yet another similarity between the two of them. Dan Heng realizes this too and says, “Huh. That’s just like Caelus. Not only is your creation similar, but your hobbies are also the same.”
Stelle perks immediately. “How many things do you have in your collection?”
“He’s decorated the entire Express with his trinkets cause there wasn’t enough space on his shelves,” March feigns annoyance but she only comes across as fond.
Caelus blushes and swats at March and she just giggles in response.
Dan Heng, being the bearer of bad news, clears his throat. “Unfortunately, I don’t think we can show you the Express because you only show up in the simulations here.”
His words might have been manifesting something, because after the sentence is over, a menu screen pops up in front of Caelus.
[ You have been idle for 5 system minutes. Would you like to start the battle or shut down the program? ]
“Oh right, we were here for a reason! We should really collect the data for Herta…” March realizes.
The trio look at Stelle for her approval, and finally, she nods. “Let’s make this quick.”
(“Hey! That’s my line!”)
Once the battle is over and the team have earned themselves a bunch of materials, a familiar voice makes itself known over the skies of the simulated arena.
“Ugh, those pesky—“ Herta coughs. “You guys can give me the materials you’ve gotten and exit the calyx now, I’ve gotta finish kicking those Stellaron Hunters out of my systems.”
Dan Heng gathers up the loot in a pouch as March and Caelus say goodbye to their new friend.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to meet in person and not through a hacked calyx system…” hopes March.
“Yeah! And then I’ll be able to show you all the things I’ve collected!” Stelle smiles at the two as her hologram grows more and more translucent.
“Then see you very soon!” Caelus waves and the Trailblaze Trio exit the calyx.
Caelus returns to his room a couple system hours later to find a little note on his bed.
Her phone number, in case you two weirdo siblings miss each other too much.

~ Silver Wolf
The trailblazer cracks a small smile and shoots Stelle a text, as well as saving her contact in his phone.
You:
hey stelle, it’s caelus! (ur literal twin???)
anyways we’ll be anchored at the space station for a few more days
we’re also heading to the luofu in a week or two if you wanna hang out (and not just via combat system)
Somewhere across the galaxy, Stelle grins as she reads the text and types up a response.
