Work Text:
it was just another day for Marisa, wake up, take any medications she needed, the un-prescribed estrogen and the occasional paracetamol in case her stomach was feeling weird, Marisa decides to play games instead, since she wasn't busy, maybe her girlfriends wanted to hang out.
Marisa decided to not dress out her pyjamas, since she had nothing to do so there was really no point - she was only playing games and she was too tired to dress up, logically, it made sense for her to not dress up, what was she even going to do, she was going to be inside all day, even then, she wouldn't think her girlfriends would care, her girlfriends don't care about many things as long as it's reasonable, it didn't mean they didn't care about certain things like the wellbeing of everyone in the relationship; there were some things she hadn't brought up, but would they be okay with those?
Marisa slouches down and finishes the level, then leaving it on the song select for a while; realizing she zoned out, she decided to try and remember what she needed to do:
Alice, Patchy, I need to text them, ask if they can come here...
After that distraction, she went back on track and proceeded with the action she was intending to carry out.
hey guys, can you come over, idk I'm feeling lonely.

She was left on read, but it was fine, so she decided to scroll through her phone while bouncing her foot, she was just looking at videos and memes because she couldn't think of anything else to do, maybe she could train or she could just sit there, zone out and think about the most stupidest and ridiculous things or put on some music and resume the made-up plot in her head, for some reason, it intrigued her- no, she was almost hyper-fixated.
you home or something? - Alice
someone responded, finally!
Yeah, like always, HBU?
I'll come over ^_^ - Alice
what about patchy?
oh, good morning! - Patchouli
are you coming over?
sure - Patchouli
now she had to tidy up the house so they wouldn't think anything less of her, but she was already not bothered enough but having a tidy environment put her at ease and helped her for some reason, she was conflicted between the labour of a common task or the benefits it brought her, one one hand, rest, but on the other a clean environment that put her at ease.
she couldn't be arsed but she knew she had to do it.
"fine..." she whispered to herself 'I'll do it!"
Marisa reluctantly neatened up piles of books and papers and vacuumed dust off the floor, she also folded clothes and blankets and neatened out carpets. after all that, she decided to sit back on her sofa and resume to a well earned break where she did nothing.
*knock! knock!
Marisa had to get up now, who was at the door now?
"Marisa, it's me, Alice!" a voice announced
All her dread went away after she heard that familiar voice, she happily opened the door for Alice.
"hey! Alice, I was waiting for you!" Marisa exclaimed
"oh, umm, I mean I did tell you I was coming!"
"actually yeah, I wonder if patchy is on her way!"
"didn't she say so in the group?"
"oh yeah! haha!"
Alice enters Marisa's home, Alice taps her fingers against each other as she wanders around.
is she... stimming? I can't just assume that, it's just her fingers, I don't think she'll understand if I talk to her about it.
Alice begins to shift focus to the carpet and it's repetitive, mesmerising pattern, then she sits down and begins to repetitively bounce her right foot against the floor in a vigorous motion.
"Hey Alice? wanna look at some anime figurines I just got?"
"that would be nice, I really like looking at figures and stuff!"
"oh cool, they should be in that box, they just arrived yesterday!"
"this one? right?"
"yeah!" Marisa exclaimed
Marisa heard another knock on her door, based on her common sense, it must be Patchy then.
"Marisa?" patchy asked "can I come in?"
"door's open!"
"alright then."
patchouli entered the small house slowly, she decided to sit on the vintage sofa, it was smooth, so it didn't irritate her at all.
"hey, Marisa, is that my book that went missing 3 months ago?" patchouli asked
I hope she doesn't notice...
"I always notice my missing books, just something I can do."
"ah crap, you got me there..."
"oh okay then, when will you return it?" patchy asked
"oh yeah, you can have it back when I inevitably die." Marisa replies
"I see then, that's going to take a while..."
"did you want them back earlier?"
"it's just disruptive when I don't know what's happening to my books, you haven't defaced them, I respect that." patchy says
"can I keep them?"
"preferably not, they're mine."
"oh okay then, guess ill keep my notes though..."
"did I make you upset?"
"no, actually, I thought you were upset!" patchy replies
"oh okay!"
they both sat there for a moment, somehow they both understood each other, sometimes, some people wouldn't understand Marisa, not even her own father would, just dismissing things as a fad or a phase, Rinnosuke was the first person that understood her, understood how she really felt about herself and never called anything she was interested in 'a phase', heck, he even made her mini hakkero - something Marisa treasures a lot. He was like an older brother to her and she really appreciated his support.
Heck, he was the only one not trying to supress her when she came out, he was the first one to immediately call her by her chosen name, he even tried his best to make sure she was as happy with herself , that was a gesture Marisa really appreciated.
It was the small things, not being vague with his language and being direct and patient, she really appreciated it.
Some people understood Marisa, but they were few, she was different, but not unique in that sense, heck, even her autisim diagnosis made her understand why she was so different - why she thought differently, why some people don't understand her and why she doesn't understand them.
Why do Alice and Patchy understand Marisa?
It would be rude to ask them; after living with neurotypicals, she understands their patterns.
But Marisa was Marisa, she doesn't really care if that question is rude, she just wants answers, besides, worst thing possible is that they say no.
"Hey guys." She asked while pausing for a bit "are you... would you like to watch tv with me?"
"Sure, what do you wanna watch?" Alice asked
"Hey, maybe, can I watch this documentary about the history of magic, please?" Patchouli asked
"Sure, is it good?"
"Yeah, I've watched it 5 times per week on average."
"Hmm, it must be good then, marisa, are you gonna put on?"
Marisa zoned out for bit.
"Oh yeah, sure, fine, maybe I'll watch aswell, I have popcorn in one of cabinets." Marisa exclaims
Patchouli recently had found an interesting documentary about the history of magic, when she first saw it, she was obsessed, it was the only thing she would view out a huge catalogue of films, she liked the history and everything was perfectly accurate, just how she liked it.
Patchouli knew that they were okay with watching it because both her girlfriends had a keen obsession in magic, just like she did, sometimes, most of the time, they were the only people who understood her, the only few people she didn't have to try and blend in with, they were all silly together and nobody was judged for that.
Patchouli had autism, her hyperfixation with books and magic was very apparent with her mastery in the subject, sometimes, she never really had anyone to info-dump onto, Koakuma would listen, all of the time, it was nice to have someone to listen to her, Remilia would also be interested, Sakuya didn't mind listening to her, sometimes, she likes to talk to flan, she likes to listen to her mistress' sister talk about the most interesting thing to Flandre at the moment
She liked it when anyone talked about things that interested them, as long as she got to say a fact about something or show off how much facts she knows.
Alice and Marisa would always listen, even if it was a random text in the middle of the night
Patchy was looking at the documentary with great focus, she was looking at her girlfriends to make sure they liked it too and they weren't just watching it for her sake. "Do you like it?" Patchouli asked "Yeah, I think it's cool." Marisa replied
Patchy was happy someone actually thought the documentary was cool, it made her smile.
Alice was glad to be with her girlfriends, she had a long day but they always made it better, they had a bunch things in common and could relate to each other, she wasn't really... neurotypical to say the least, as she knew NTs had a hard time properly understanding her, she knows why she felt isolated when she was younger, she was different, thought differently; she had autism, something that isolated her from her peers, they were like basic universal formats but she was incompatible, until she met Marisa and Patchy, she thought all people would find her weird for having a great liking towards dolls, But Marisa and Patchy liked how she embraced her not-so-secret interest towards dolls, but she didn't want to tell them she was autistic; she would get infantilised after she told someone. Alice hated that, she was a mature woman but thinking differently is apparently an excuse for for neurotypicals to treat her like a child.
"oh the documentary ended." Patchouli said.
Alice really liked the documentary, it was some of the best television she saw in ages, her girlfriend really had some great taste in media.
"I really liked it!" Alice said
"thanks, I appreciate that." patchouli said
Marisa felt the hands of her girlfriends touching her during the documentary, it wasn't like she didn't like it; having girl hands on you was actually one of best feelings Marisa had felt in a while, they were gentle, soft and they actually exerted the perfect amount of pressure but they didn't really irk her or make feel weird, Marisa began to stim again, just randomly.
"Hey guys..." Marisa asked "I wanna ask you something."
That might have seemed random to a neurotypical, but random questions were the norm in this relationship, one time, Marisa even asked Alice if she prefers the blue flavour or yellow flavour of a sweet they tried ages ago, Alice had answered blue, as she thought blue raspberry was an interesting flavour.
"Do you prefer the thick, big blankets or thin ones, cause I hate the thin ones." Marisa continued
"same" Patchouli replied "I think the big blankets are so soft and keep me snug the right amount, I also like having weight on my blanket."
"you're absolutely right!" Alice exclaims
So, it looks like they can have the same blankets, nobody has to bring a separate blanket with them, they can all just use the same blanket type.
"hey patchy and Alice..." Marisa wanted to bring it up today, she needed to tell them, as they were in a relationship.
Marisa had thought about it while watching the documentary, but what would they think of her after she announces it, her girlfriends have her locked in a cuddle.
Marisa hesitated "I have to admit something-"
"It's not something bad, is it?" Alice interrupted
"No, I don't know, I'd say it's neutral, ah, I don't know the word."
"Neutral, so it's not bad or good either?"
"I guess, would admitting to being a bit different be good?"
"Different?"
"Yeah, I think differently..."
Alice's face lights up at the idea, Patchy is also as intrigued as Alice.
Patchouli says "Different, do you mean-"
"I'm autistic..." marisa says "I think it's also affecting how I think of my gender really, being a trans female and all, a lot of people like me have been known to be diverse in sexuality or gender, I'm just kinda glad you guys understand me, I hope this isn't rude but are you also autistic?"
"Yes!" Alice and Patchy exclaimed
"Wait, no way, hahaha, no way you understand me cause you are like me, you guys are kinda like me, I guess we have more in common than being magicians!"
"Why didn't you tell me sooner," Alice asked "I would have loved to known that you were also autistic."
"I don't know, I didn't want to seen as weird, especially with you guys but I thought you guys more like me the more we were together."
Marisa felt relieved, not only were they accepting but they were also like her.
Marisa felt a kiss on cheek, it felt soft and then she felt patchouli snuggle tighter.
She could feel Alice's fingers run through her hair, it was sort of mesmerising and hypnotic.
"Wanna see if we can kiss each other at the same time?" Alice asked
"All three of us, together, it would be interesting, to say the very least." Marisa replied
"Let's try it out, I've always wanted to see what a three way kiss feels like..." Patchouli remarked
They brought their faces together and began to kiss each other, threeway kisses were something new for them, but that meant nobody missed out. They were kissing each other, not taking turns or anything.
They then released from the kiss after a while
"Hmmm, I wouldn't mind doing this again." Marisa said
They were all left blushing from the kiss; Their skins left red.
"Hey, guys, I'm glad to have you as my girlfriends." Marisa said
"Aww thanks, I love you too!" Patchouli exclaimed flusteredly
"Me three !" Alice replied
They all began to huddle together and enjoy the pressure from the big huddle, it was firm and warm- just how they liked it.
